Hi Kelly! Thank you so much for such a lovely kind comment! It’s 7:45am where I live and you’ve made my day, thank you! I want this channel to make relatable content so if there’s any particular balls, clubs, training aids etc. you want to see reviewed please do comment and let me know! I hope you have a great day too! 👍🏼
Great review, lots of detail, and I'm not surprised by the Q-Star Tour's consistency. I switched to it for a while after playing Callaway SuperSofts, and found much better spin for approach shots and around the greens. However, I got a free sleeve of ChromeSoft X's, and immediately saw a distance difference -- on one hole where I typically hit 3 wood to come up short of a 245-yard bunker, I hit the QStar Tour 225, and then hit the bunker with the ChromeSoft X. That distance difference (+15-20 yards) held up with driver and 3 wood consistently. I'm 63, but still have a 105 clubhead speed with those two clubs, so the Srixon's lower compression was hurting my distance. I've just ordered some Srixon Z-stars, and will compare this week. Thanks for a great review.
Hi Paul! Thanks for watching and for sharing your own experiences! It sounds like you’ve really found something with the ChromeSoft X! I’ve got my own reviews of the Chrome Soft range and another video on my channel comparing Premium balls with Z Star included (spoiler alert: it did really well!). I think Srixon balls are really underrated but was a Callaway Chrome Soft player for a long while so I get the appeal to both! Thanks for watching my channel and best of luck with the Z Stars! 👍🏼
Planning on taking the game up again as i retire next year. When i played 16yrs ago i never gave any thought what was best ball for my game just used pro v1's.Thanks to the internet and video's like this i am without doubt much wiser and knowledgeable. Not as yet gone to range to learn my swing speed but if it lands in the 90's as i suspect it will, then thanks to you Luke i will purchase these balls. Many thanks Mike former player 7 h/cap.
Hi Mike! Welcome back to the game and thank you for allowing my channel to help you with your choice of golf ball! The Pro V1 is still excellent - just expensive - and there are lots of great mid priced options like the Q Star! I’m sure you’ll be back playing off 7 in no time! Best of luck with it and congratulations on the pending retirement! 👍🏼
Hi Donald! Me too! I always find that Srixon balls outperform my expectations - for some reason they are just not as popular as other brands in some quarters but great balls! Thanks for watching my video! All the best! 👍🏼
I've been using the q star tour for about a month now and I find more fairways with this ball than any other. I've only been golfing for a year and I'm 51 years old. Great video and great ball for me!
Hi SC! Sounds like you’ve stumbled across a great ball for you already! Hope you’re enjoying golf and keep playing for years to come! Thanks for watching my channel too! All the best! 👍🏼
I have only been playing golf since April 2022 and I started using the Divide this year and I absolutely love this ball. I had a hip replacement in Nov. 2021 so my swing speed is slower and I can still avg 250 off the tee with it.
Hi Denton! Thank you for watching my video and for sharing your own experiences! I’m glad to hear you like the Srixon Q Star and in the divide option too! I say this a lot; but I think Srixon balls are so underrated and everyone I know who tries one loves them and their price point compared to other balls! Keep enjoying the game and thanks for giving my channel a try! 👍🏼
Thanks Luke this is really helpful as I am trying to decide between the ProV1, AVX and Q-star Tour, looks like I will go with the latter and save some money without much loss of performance.
Hi Western! Glad the video has helped! I’ve got the Titleist AVX next on my list to test in a couple of weeks which will be a comparison vs Pro V1 so hopefully that will remove any lingering doubts for you too! Thanks for watching my video and for your comment! All the best 👍🏼
Great review by a normal golfer. So much more relevant to my game than the PGA Pro reviews. I’ve switched around golf balls the last few years, but been gaming the Q-Star Tour this year, and my on course findings mirror your stats. All round pretty much perfect for my game, and if you catch one of Srixon’s two box deals they become even cheaper.
Hi Steve! Thank you so much for watching my video and for your comment! I started the channel exactly for the reasons you called out! I really really like the Q Star Tour and totally get why anyone would game it! Srixon balls are so underrated in my opinion! I’m convinced if Rory or Rahm played them they’d be everywhere! Great shout on keeping an eye out for the two box deal too! All the best! 👍🏼
Hi Kevin! I haven’t yet, as I’ve been doing the individual reviews first but it’s coming soon! I’ve got quite a backlog of videos to film and where I only get chance to film one video a week, it’ll probably be a couple more weeks until it drops but thank you for your patience and for watching my videos! 👍🏼
Wow, I missed this one. Yup, this ball stops on a as far as anything else, great consistent flight too. Feels AMAZING on and around the green AND most importantly it stops on a dime which it's my ball of choice. That dimple design really helps in heavy winds too. The orange / yellow can be spotted from is the easiest for me to spot (from the tee) where the blue/yellow and the red/yellow are almost hard to find at times. Love love the QST Dive. Really cool seeing that ball fly in the air too.
Thanks for the comment gcoffey! Definitely a great ball at a good price point! Lovely to hear your positive experience with it! Thanks for watching! 👍🏼
Nice review, I played TP5 but recently switch to QStar Tour white after turning 58. Great value for 3 piece, urethane cover n lower compression of 72. I spin my wdges alot n these helps me to lower it from 120 in. For 20yd chip it does pop up slightly higher than TP5 but have gotten used to it after a short game practise to get use to it. Love the towering ball flights for mid to driver n still able to flight it down with a 3 quarter shot. Overall I get about 5yds more carry with less effort due to its lower compression. Under rated n not a popular ball here in Thailand but on discounts its cheaper than the two piece soft feel and half the cost of the zStar. The durability of these balls are good as well, on average I get thru 2-3 rounds of golf and they are still holding out as well as the TP5 at fraction of the price.
Hi VK! Thanks for watching my video and for sharing in detail your own experiences with the Q Star Tour. I say it all the time, that Srixon golf balls are generally underrated and I think you’d agree based on your own experience! I visited Thailand for my honeymoon this year and loved the country! Got to enjoy a round at Aquella too which was fantastic! Thanks for giving my channel a chance! 👍🏼
I've noodled round with the pro v and determined its fine with players with faster ss than mine. off the deck with my irons, a much heavier feeling golf ball, slower off the face of my iron. my driver is roughly 85 ish- because im older now. the tour gives me more distance, decent check on the green and nice height . ive settled on the tour for the time being thx for the vid, its very thorough ..
Thanks for watching Keen! It’s a great ball so I’m not surprised you love it! We’ve had some cold, wet and heavy air conditions near us lately and it’s even left me considering a winter ball to eke out a few more yards. Very depressing when you’re playing and everything goes 2 clubs shorter than peak summer! So if I can play something that gives me a few more yards at this time of year when I don’t need the spin, I think it’s worth exploring! 👍🏼
Good review. Makes me glad I use the QStar Tour. The difference in price is not worth the slight performance difference. Maybe if I were pro golfer I'd use the proV1, but then I'd be getting them free. Easy choice. This was helpful.
Hi Jay Cee! Thanks for watching the video and for sharing your own experiences with the Q Star Tour! Great that our swing speeds are similar - exactly why I started the channel! All the best! 👍🏼
I have played the Q-Star Tour for the last 4 years but this year I switched to the Kirkland V2 ball, mainly due to the price. Perhaps you would consider a comparison of the two balls.
Hi Rick! Thanks for watching and thanks for your suggestion! I have reviewed the Kirkland ball as a separate video, although I’ve not got my hands on the new model just yet. My gut feel is the Kirkland would spin more and potentially be a little bit shorter but I’ll add it to the list to see if I can do it in the future! 👍🏼
I'm 65 and my swing speed is probably around 85? Would this ball be recommended? 3-4 years ago I was hitting the project a and was really hitting it well but I think my swing has slowed since then. I'm hitting 200-220 with the titleist tour speed
Hi Kurt! Thanks so much for watching my video and giving my channel a go! I really don’t like to give recommendations as I don’t know enough about your swing characteristics to speak with any certainty and I’d hate to give you bad advice! What I would say is that the Project A is a lot closer to the Tour Response and competing the Tour Response to the Q Star Tour my prediction is that in my hands the Q Star Tour would have more spin but be a little bit shorter. So perhaps if you’re looking for more spin at a mid priced point the Q Star Tour would be worth trying a sleeve alternatively it might be worth trying the Tour Response if you liked the Project A. I have a couple of videos on my channel that could be helpful too… one reviewing the Bridgestone Tour B RX and RXS and another putting those two balls head to head vs Tour Response which would show you some good options too. I have also reviewed Tour Speed vs Tour Soft. I’m sorry that’s not a definitive answer but I hope it helps! All the best! 👍🏼

@@weekendtourpros yeah coz like everyone I'm on the quest for more distance so would like to see if you get more ball speed and distance. I believe the spin is meant to be better too?? Love srixon balls but not sure if the high compression would suit my club speed?

Hi Jeff! Thanks for watching and for the kind comment! I really liked the Q Star Tour! The only problem with doing so much testing is you see something you like in each thing you test vs. What you currently use so I’m trying hard not to tinker right now with my own setup but the spin consistency on this ball impressed me so much that it is tempting and like you say it’s a great price point! Thanks for continuing to follow and support my channel Jeff, I really do appreciate it! Have a great day! 👍🏼
Hi Allyby58! I think both the Srixon Q Star (called AD333 in the UK - review also on my channel) and Srixon Q Star Tour (this ball) are excellent choices for high handicap golfers. They offer fantastic all round performance at a good price (a great price if you make the most of the 4 for 3 type deals that Srixon offer regularly) and allows you to consistently play a really good ball! Thanks for watching! All the best! 👍🏼
@@weekendtourpros Many thanks for your reply, I've just ordered a box of Srixon Divide Q Star Tour and 2 boxes of Srixon Q Star Tour (white) Looking forward to trying them! 👍
@Allyby58 fantastic! Best of luck and would love to hear how you get on! The divide definitely lives up to its name and divides opinion but I’ve got one friend who loved it for putting! 👍🏼
Hi Retflo! I haven’t got my hands on the 5th iteration announced a few weeks back yet but from what I’ve read it’s a new core which is slightly firmer (so compression is up slightly) but they claim to have retained the soft feel through the cover. The benefit is supposed to be better long game ball speeds whilst retaining short game performance. My gut feeling is the improvement will be minimal as they’ve kept the pricing similar and are still marketing it as their Tier 2 ball behind Z Star so it can’t be as good as those! Hope that helps!
My only complaint with the Q star tour is that it doesn’t hold greens very well for me. I have to account for 20 feet of roll out, which is a problem on tighter pins. It makes a great winter ball because it’s a softer ball in general. My gamer ball is the z star, or Bridgestone tour b xs. My driver club head speed is 109mph, so I know I get too much compression out of softer balls.
Hi Serenity in Silence! Thanks for watching and for your comment sharing your own experiences! That all makes sense to me based on my testing and your clubhead speed - have you got 5mph you could should with me please??? Haha! Thanks for giving my channel a go! 👍🏼
You hit your 7 iron 170 and your driver only 230? Something is amiss there. Someone swinging at your speed should at least be getting 250 out of the driver. Great job on the review though; very informative 👍
Thanks for watching Sharper9009! Appreciate the kind words on the review too! TBH I think that's mainly because TrackMan over exaggerates roll out where the driving range is set up firm and fast. On the golf course, in the UK I'd usually hit a 7 iron from 150-156 yards subject to conditions and driver 220 yards. Obviously in peak summer when conditions are firm and fast both do roll out a bit more. However, I do agree, that I don't think my delivery is optimised enough to get the most out of my driver and it's definitely something I've worked on since and can at least get to 240 yards total on TM now!
I totally get that Jordan! I don’t play a Pro v1 either for the same reason (I play off 13 currently!). I only use it as a comparison because it’s the number one ball in golf and it shows people how good the cheaper balls I review are! Thanks for watching my video and for your comment! 👍🏼
Interesting with that 1000 rpm drop off, a bit surprised to see that. On the course, all I know is that the ball stops on a dime, every time. The carry might be lower, but the eadily rollout makes up for that distance
Great comparison..I'm another one who can't justify forking out a fortune for pro v1s and chrome softs..these seem like a great alternative.. hopefully they'll suit my 7 to 8 handicap
Hi Daniel! Thanks for watching! I think they are a great ball - to be honest I think all Srixon balls relatively speaking are great value and underrated! This one was no different in my opinion! All the best! 👍🏼
Hi Richard! I’d definitely recommend that everyone does this if it’s readily available! In the UK it’s rare I see this offered though and if it is it’s usually by a rep for one brand of ball (e.g. a Titleist ball fitting vs a brand agnostic one). I think that’s why my ball review videos are popular as people can see what different balls are really doing in the hands of a golfer that’s relatable and then they can try one or two they like the look of vs. spending a lot of money on buying sleeves/dozens of balls! On a personal level I had a semi ball fitting included as part of a recent full bag club fitting and that I think was more useful as the fitter saw me hitting all clubs in my bag and could recommend what I needed from a ball vs the ball I currently played - that’s ultimately led to a change in the ball I play (there’s a video on this on my channel!). Thanks for watching my video! Have a great Sunday! 👍🏼
Hi Eric! You are correct the Q Star (or AD333 as it’s called in other parts of the world) is a 2 piece golf ball and I have a review of that on my channel too! This golf ball, the Q Star Tour is a 3 piece golf ball and slightly more expensive and has a urethane cover! Thanks for watching! 👍🏼
@@weekendtourpros thank you for the clarification. My mistake. It seems to me that the packaging and similarity in names is deliberately misleading to the consumer.
@ericjencson9489 no problem at all! Yes I think it helps us in the UK that we call the Q Star the AD333 so there’s a distinct difference. But I agree packaging and names are very similar in lots of the world!!! I’m sure the intention is to show they are part of the same family but agree it could come across misleading! Thanks for the reply! 👍🏼
Oh Lord. You Tubers stop with the SHOCKED crap already. It was dumb when it started and is still that way. I'm SHOCKED people eat this crap up... Ok I'm not really.
Hi Bill! Thanks for the feedback! All noted and if I must admit I hear you! I did try to avoid thumbnails and titles like this when I started but apparently you don’t get views unless you play this game but it still makes me feel uncomfortable at times so I try my best to avoid it. That being said, in this instance I was genuinely surprised at the spin consistency of a ball at this price point in my hands as a mid handicap golfer. It’s not something I usually see! So there is at least a lot of truth in it! I hope that doesn’t put you off giving my channel another chance in future! I’m just a weekend golfer, trying to make some relatable golf content for people like me as a hobby that hopefully helps other golfers! All the best! 👍🏼

My gut feeling is the improvement will be minimal as they’ve kept the pricing similar and are still marketing it as their Tier 2 ball behind Z Star so it can’t be as good as those! Hope that helps!
Wow! Thanks@@weekendtourpros
I use Qstar tours, I only use pro v1s I find 😂 can’t justify spending that much on a golf ball.. as a 20 handicap golfer
I totally get that Jordan! I don’t play a Pro v1 either for the same reason (I play off 13 currently!). I only use it as a comparison because it’s the number one ball in golf and it shows people how good the cheaper balls I review are! Thanks for watching my video and for your comment! 👍🏼
@@weekendtourpros great video mate, recently found quite a few pro v1xs and I hate to say I really like them 😂
Interesting with that 1000 rpm drop off, a bit surprised to see that.
get a ball fitting to see what golf ball fits your game the best......
I think q star is a 2 piece, not 3 piece.
I use this ball in my game its almost like they made it just for me
Hi Chuck! Absolutely love this comment! What is it about the ball that is so optimal for you? Thanks for watching my video! All the best 👍🏼
@@weekendtourpros the feel of my big Bertha clubs I am 77 an I still have a good game an the ball has been chosen after a lot brands played
@chucklucas8747 that’s great Chuck! It does feel good when you find a ball you love and can trust!
