      I prefer the AD333 over the Pro V1x , I think the X gives me more driver distance but doesn’t last very long, does not offer as bigger performance benefit and in most cases none at all. I think Q star tour is a disappointment, and this showed that was the case. I don’t mind the Z and XV. However AD333 is just better than everything. If they did an X version with a slightly firmer compression then that would be good, but this test and the mygolfspy tests show that multiple mantle balls and high prices are just not good enough to differentiate themselves from the AD333

    Great video! I switched from ProV1s (cost, losing too many) to the Srixon Q-Star Tour. I didn't notice it spinning much less on the greens, but it felt MUCH softer! Everyone thinks the ProV1s are so soft, because of the Urethane cover, but Srixon's also have Urethane covers! In addition, the Q-Star Tour is only a 67 compression ball vs. the 87 compression on the ProV1s. At 65 years old and a 10 hdcp, I much prefer the Q-Star ball! And in the winter, when it gets a bit colder, the Srixon Soft Feel at 56 compression is perfect!

      It really does blow my mind about the cost difference! Over the course of a busy season, it adds up 🤷🏼‍♂️

      @@TKGolfYT Yes, my favorite ball is the Bridgestone Tour B RXS balls- soft, and super spin. However, they too are getting expensive, so I changed to the Bridgestone e12 ball. I liked the e12 Soft, but last year Bridgestone combined the e12 Soft and the e12 Distance Ball to produce the e12 Contact, which I didn't like as well. That's when I moved over to the Srixon Q-Star Tour and that's my favorite "cheaper" ball now!

    I've been away from the game for over a decade and i really appreciate this video. I used to play Bridgestone or Callaway balls that are no longer made and my game was so much better back then too. I'm looking for a soft ball that still has good distance but has to stop. Never was a fan of the ProV since I got just as good performance from cheaper balls. Since I rely more on my short game spin and feel are important to me. Nice to see the level of detail you can get from the launch monitors now.

    I learned the game as a teen and learned the differance between balls/brands as my supply of balls came from hunting for lost balls of the country club i caddied at. When i began buying golf balls (around 1989), i quickly stopped using Titleist balls due to cost. Maxfli was the brand for a long time. Then Strata came out and changed everything. my point is there are many options to find an equivalent ball for less. Srixon has been my current ball of choice. Thanks for your work and information.

      @@TKGolfYT I've just returned to golf after 30 odd years out of the game and have struggled to find my ball thus far....most modern balls feel quite different against my 1980s putter compared with what I used to like (Titleist 90). Last week I finally bought a modern putter with the insert (the final club in my bag to be replaced) so here's hoping finding my ball will be easier. Yes...feel off the putter face is my primary selection criterion and always has been.
      I'm currently enjoying Taylor Made's TP5x and also like Bridgestone's Tour B XS. Both balls costing me more money than my game suggests is warranted and my swing speed isn't suited to the XS. Very useful data but hows about the best ball for seniors who can’t swing driver at 104mph, my swing speed is a miserable 82 but at 76yrs young it ain’t gonna increase. Laying up on par fours is normal for us oldies so we tend to be useful with a wedge, therefore stopping power is a major concern. You kept asking "why are the Srixon cheaper?". Maybe a better question is "why does Titleist charge so much and keep raising their prices?" I tend to feel Titleist overcharges because they can, not because it's worth it. Titleist is like Rolex. Great product, I own a few. Are they the best? Nope. Have more people just HEARD that they're the best therefore assume it's true? Definitely. I know plenty of 20 handicappers who refuse to play any other ball despite their complete inability to improve or use the features of the ball that they just paid $54.99 a dozen for. Great review.

      Fair point. One thing though, is Q stars tours seem to go straighter. Maybe that's why I feel I get a bit more out of them, not sure.
      I will say we play a lot in windy conditions too, and Srixon in general perform better (for me) in winds. I do keep a sleve of Z star in the bag for a few holes that need some shape. QST are to straight sometimes 😂😂😂

    Which of the Srixon balls would you recommend for someone who swings the driver 85mph? I’ve shied away from the Z series because they all promote needing a fast swing speed. Some say that’s a myth and the average golfer can benefit from a higher compression ball, too. What do you think?

    • @TKGolfYT
      @TKGolfYT  11 месяцев назад +1

      So, before I started the channel, I really enjoyed playing with Callaway golf balls. Last winter, I tried the Supersoft and I found that these balls were flying A LOT further than the Chrome Soft I was using. The supersoft is a Low compression golf ball. With that experience, I’m confident you would benefit from a low compression golf ball! 😊 try something like a Srixon Soft Feel, or possibly a Q-Star Tour 😊
      I may do a video on low compression golf balls soonish 🤔 would you be ok if I used your comment in my video? 😊

      @@TKGolfYT Sure thing! This whole “compression marketing, based on your swing speed” is confusing and there are some saying it’s a myth - that everyone can use a Titleist Pro V1X and benefit. I agree that a urthene covered ball helps an average golfer score better, when it grabs the green, instead of rolling past the hole every time. I just want to figure out the best ball for my game and would welcome more videos on the topic. 👍

    You need to see what most other professional coaches say is normal spin rate for a driver. It’s 2000 rpm. So that 1950 with the cheapest ball you said was way off, is actually pretty much dead on with the Z Star XV at just 2100+. The best average over all was the standard Z Star. What you should have shown but did not was which one had the tightest dispersion. Finding fairways is more important than anything. Why not test the chrome soft? And where I live, the Chrome soft are the exact same price as the Pro V1.

    • @TKGolfYT
      @TKGolfYT  5 месяцев назад +1

      The lowest average spin rate on the PGA tour is 2,112 🤔 The average spin rate on the PGA tour is 2,546. Low spin is great for distance, but not good for control 🤷🏼‍♂️
      I don’t really find any premium ball better at hitting fairways than another, so dispersion for golf ball test doesn’t really make sense to me 🤔 there would be a 1-2y difference if that and my dispersion is at least 50y with a driver 😂
      The reason for not testing the chrome soft in the video… this was a video about testing the Srixon range of balls against the pro v1. Most consider the pro v1 the best ball in golf. I wanted to show that Srixon had a line up of cheaper options that can compete 😊
      I’ve tested the Callaway chrome tour against the pro v1 which may be more suited to you than this video 🤔 I also have plans for a larger test which would include the chrome soft 😊

I have a membership at a private course and can pull off a tee time slot all to myself a couple times a week and put all 3 in play every hole . Prov 1 is not longer then the zstar off the tee , and no ball is even close to the diamond around the greens. Im a 3hcp.
