Thank you so much for this. I've had this pedal for a while now and I knew it was versatile but I had no idea you could get all these sounds out of it.
I have a question about your pickups, as I am really new to this topic. Are those comparable to single coil strat pickups because of the low output? Nice demo as always btw!!!
These particular pickups, not really. These are modern style humbuckers but I asked them to wind them low output and not do any wax potting. PAF style humbuckers though would be closer, in that they have a single coil/p90 quality to them and are also lower output. My Sunbear 59 PAF video shows some of those qualities. For the most part though, humbuckers will always be much thicker and darker than single coils, regardless of output. Single coils much brighter and thinner sounding. No better or worse, just different. With humbuckers I do prefer them low output because they have more headroom and dynamics. It takes more to distort them and they’re less compressed sounding. Thanks for the support and kind words!
@@boringgearreviews thank you for your detailed answer! I do play an ibanez with humbuckers for 16 years now, but for quiet some time now it feels like that this isn't the sound that I am searching for all those years. I want a more dynamical sound. I guess I am searching for something like the Band Kowloon Walled City is doing, but I am not sure now, because that dark, dynamical Sound of your guitar also Sound really nice! It is hard to decide when you have those many options haha.
@@bonjonbovi- Haha, I hear you. There are so many options and types of sounds. One thing you can do is get humbuckers with 4 conductor wire and then use push pull pots to switch between humbucker and single coil. You could even do that with your Ibanez. I have a couple guitars with this option and it’s great.
@@boringgearreviews wow that seems like a cool option! And can I get the typical Fender strat sound with those or do they have another sound when I am using the single coil mode?
@@bonjonbovi- It’s not exactly a Strat single coil sound but it’s very close and for sure does a close approximation. I’ll make a video about it in the next week or two actually.
Sounds great! Love this one!
Thank you SO MUCH! Really means a lot!

That’s so cool to hear. Thanks for the support. It’s such an outstanding fuzz!
Great demo! The way the JFETs are used in this circuit really make it a unique take on fuzz.
Thanks so much. You’re so right. It’s such a cool and nuanced approach.
🤘👍🏿 Glad you mentioned the EQ. Hadn’t thought about that in my use of this fuzz, but that’s so so true.
Yea man, it’s some sort of trickery that I don’t understand but I’m glad it’s there. 🤘
Hey man, you're really starting to develop some awesome videos! Really dig this one.
Thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed it!
I wish it had a treble switch like the Unpleasant surprise, mine is bit dark on its own. But of course gear dependent.
That makes total sense. Would be a great addition for different gear.
Agreed, I think it sounds superb as is, but it would quite literally never leave my board if it was brighter.

Killer sounds! Great demo! Fairfield is the 💩
Thanks so much! Agreed. Fairfield is the business!
