before anyone starts bashing the sound.. look at the majority of these youtube amp demos where they probably use 1 sm57 and nothing else to capture what the amp really feels and sounds like. most demos sound like crap as it is.. but once you play it in person its a totally different experience.

Sure, Randalls sound great, but the way he has the tone setup is pretty bad. This is more of a Rock tone than Metal and explains why Death Magnetic sounded not so good, among other things.

it's funny how Kirk haters can say he sucks when Joe Satriani (the guitar master) says he's an amazing guitar player and has taught Kirk in 1984.

But times change. And yea, the amp doesn't sound amazing.
But did everyone really feel the need to just go ape shit on Kirk as a person?
He is a great guy, and is very humble for being in the biggest rock band in the world. Does he need to apologize for being 53 years old and not being as lively as he was when he was in his 20's?

People stop fucking moaning, it sounds great, the tone your used to hearing is a blend of a full production or what you play at home, which i guarantee sounds shit live, when you mic up at gigs, or in studio a tech will either adjust your amp (yes its his job to get it sounding right), and add eq and remove tones that interfere with other instruments, this sounded absolutely spot on to be used as part of a mix, so the tone is perfect

Kirk Haters are mostly (99,9%) angry individuals who achieved nothing in life and now they are just releasing their stinking poison, many of them also seriuosly lack intelligence (usually people with less IQ struggle in life, but they do have often toxic tongue)...According to old wisdom "you reap what you saw" with this toxic language they just invite more misfortune into their life ! The truth is that guitar players who are truly dedicated to their instrument never criticize other guitarists or are disrespectful, it is those who are really not talented (but jelaous) that are whinning. The truth is that Kirk could play better even in sleep than those haters, yes truth hurts.. So my advice is if you want to improve your life, it will not happen by being angry asshole, you will suffer even more like that. Rather spend ur precious time (cause life is very short), by doing something useful, like guitar practice for example ! But its easier to sit behind comp and writting stupid comments isn it ? Hum Hum Hum :D :D

Kirk defenders are mainly....... Oh what is the word?
Tone deaf? No, what's the word?
I dunno, being carried by the bassist?
No that's not right, erm.. Vibrato? No he can't do that...
      Lucky?
Famous by association? No sorry guys I can't think of the right words.
If you like Kirks tone or playing in anything where he wasn't drunk or high as fuck then stop it.
There are better players out there.
Stop defending shit, as a wise man once said, "you can't polish a turd"

Don't know why you all are griping, the amp could've been dialed in a little better, but the clean and dirt channels didn't sound that bad

  • @crate3232
    @crate3232 8 лет назад

I have the feeling he has the amp dialed in to mix with his band. A busy rhythm guitarist, a loud drummer, and bass player playing thrash metal. He doesn't have it dialed in to sound good playing by himself in the bedroom. I think a demo of this amp in the jam room would have done it much more justice for all.

The issue is they sound of demoed this with other tracks like the other demo of this amp that sounds way better.

***** Kirk is nowhere near my favorite guitarist, but I don't hate the guy!!! I see so much dislike in the guitar world, its crazy lol He's in a legendary band, makes tons of $$$, and has a lot of signature gear. Good for him. This world has wayyyyy more problems to deal with besides people bitchin about Kirk! There are better guitarist, there are worse. Get over it lol

Although you wouldn't think it possible from listening to this video, this amp is actually fantastic! Check out any other video of this amp being demoed by someone other than Kirk, and you'll see that this amp actually sounds really really good.
I guess what they say is true. Most of the tone really does come from the players fingers.

Qstick333 you are so incredibly ignorant to how expensive it is to tour and how much of a hassle it is to bring tube amps and spare tubes along with how finicky tube amps are. I hope you’re not this ignorant now 4 years later

@@gamesandguitars3901 Just because you and I are broke as fuck, doesn't mean Kirk Hammett is.
He's flogging a truly weak sounding amp.
He doesn't actually play these things.
My Peavey 6505 combo has more tone and chunk on the open E palm mute than this rig.
You should be ashamed for defending this blatant money grab.
