Oh how I wish I had an Embroidery Machine ! Nope I don’t actually just got a new sewing machine 2 years ago. If I were younger I would get that right away. Thank You for explaining sew I can understand
Thank you for sharing I’m looking into a embroidery machine. I know your granddaughter will enjoy her quilt my grandkids loves anything I make them. Just love seeing them love on the quilt I made for them. God bless you and your family I hope you’re having a blessed evening.
Taking the weight off the quilting area is a wonderful idea. I put a sewing machine needle through my left index finger while machine quilting on my Singer 301 home sewing machine years ago (when the quilt started falling off the table). April, the only person who will notice any errors in your quilting will be you. Your quilt is beautiful. However, I did quilt a full sized quilt on my Singer 301 in less than day when a young man (whom I was quilting the quilt for) stood beside me and lifted the quilt up (and held the quilt up while listening to me). He moved everything when I ask him to do so. After we finished the quilting, I trimmed the quilt; and, we (Robby and I) put the binding on it no time. The quilt was finish in less than a day; and, Robby took his finished quilt home before dark. By helping me he also could claim credit for quilting his own quilt. Robby is a very good listener for a young adult. Listening and following instructions are skills that a lot of young people do not have today.
I thought so too ... but it was really kinda simple ... just like anything else ... just gotta learn it ... Thanks for watching and yes Oliver will get scratches and kisses ..LOL April
Great video April💛 I like how you showed us the process....What does a machine like that cost? I don't think I'd have space for one of those but maybe in the future🤷🏻♀️
Good question! I went to the Paducah quilt show and a vendor there had one for just around 10K --- if you are going to invest in one .. I would look for a quilt show nearby and try to get a SHOW SPECIAL or a demonstrator ... Hope this helps .. April
Oh I have missed you! I don't get notifications that you had a new videos-Love the way you teach-this video is awesome. I have never wanted to try this until I watch you on this video,♥
love this quilt..thank you for showing us how it is done. I only have a 5X7 hoop but I will do a quilt in it. I have done one before basically the same way. I need to go visit JuJu❤❤❤
Those weightless quilters thingies are really handy, because if the quilt puts the machine in a bind that might cause the machine to lose registration. And I know for a fact it is hard to get it line up again and finish the design. So far quilt looks beautiful.
Your demo is fabulous. I have E2E, but its still just too complicated for me. But, you've inspired me to try again i just don't have the magnetic hoop because I'm not sure about putting magnets that close to the computer in my machine
Yay April. I have owned the Weightless Quilting system for a few years. I wondered if your family helped you figure out all the details about placement and finding the way it works for you. I struggle with assembly of the system. Can you do a video based on your using the tool for quilting and the setting it up too??? Please. I have a pinterest board for the Weightless Quilting system, yet my brain is stuck and I want to move forward!!
April try flipping your design on the set up screen. I don't have a preview on my machine like you do (that is great by the way) I advance 1 stitch to see if it matches up with the end of the previous stitch out. Love your video and quilt.
Hi April, Thank You For Sharing. I haven’t taken my embroidery machine out of the box yet. Becky with Power Tools and Thread has many videos and might be able to help you line up the stitches. You may already know that? I like that pattern and your quilt turned out beautifully and your little granddaughter will be so happy snuggling up with her quilt. 🥰 Again, thank you for sharing, 🥰 Chris
I have quilted on my embroidery machine...I start at the top in the middle of the quilt..work down to the bottom with pattern A then work the next row from either side of the A pattern. Much easier than from bottom to top.
👏👏👏👏good job, April! Just finished a salad will grab a dove dark chocolate before I get ready for bed. Great video. You give me encouragement to get my embroidery machine out for quilting too!
Oliver,Oliver,Oliver, yah. You are the best. Your mother is a genius. Is there anything she can't do.! I'm so impressed more, & more with her everyday. Pssst, Oliver steal some of mom's chocolate for me, ok ?
If you have Embrilliance software, you can easily switch those start points (I believe it’s the Enthusiast module that has “reverse” points. The quilt it so cute!
Thank you so much for this info April! Can you tell me the model of your Brother machine? You probably said somewhere, but I am old and missed it 😬😂🤣 I really love all of your videos! 💜
This is great! Thank you for showing how this can be done and that quilt turned out so cute! Oliver is such a movie star 🤩, I just love how he makes his entrance, ha! Oh and you make me feel so normal talking to yourself!! 🤣🤣 Love your videos... keep them coming!
Oh my gosh!! It came out SO CUTE! I absolutely love the panel you selected and the quilt design is perfect. I see Oliver approves, so what more could you want?
There are videos out there showing how a lady made a sample end to end design on her Bernina embroidery machine. She did the quilt design on a piece of stabilizer using a dark colored thread. Then she had a pattern to apply to her quilt to see where the stitching would be and how to match the sections
I layered them just as if I was going to quilt it on my sewing machine. And it worked really well. Make sure you have some form of apparatus to lift the parts of the quilt that might cause drag. Thank you for watching. 😀. April
I enjoyed watching this video and your showing how to quilt on an embroidery machine. I just don’t have the patience and am a bit of a perfectionist. I would rather eat chocolate and watch you tackle it 😂 Thanks for another great video!
I did this with a 5x7 hoop. It took me 90 hoopings to complete my quilt. Never again! I would though do it for smaller projects such as table runners and such.
Holy Crap! That is a lot of hooping. It is definitely more feasible if you have a machine that could handle a large hoop size. Thank you for sharing and watching. April
Did you mention what machine this is? I looked through your materials and did not find it listed but may have missed it in the tutorial. I have done some quilting motifs within blocks. The hooping is hard and I have considered the snap hoop. Do you find it holds things together well and does not slip. It would sure help if it holds while quilting. I have not tried the edge to edge. My machine will only take a 6" x 10". Doable, but I have not gone further for the reasons you addressed here. Thanks for this tutorial. Would love to know your experience with the snap hoop and how well it holds. Thanks.
The machine I used is a BROTHER LUMINAIRE 2--- it is awesome! I am still getting used to it .. but I LOVE it! and the snap hoop ... WONDERFUL... I didn't experience any slipping ... I love it! April
I got mine from Sewing and Vacuum Authority in Louisville KY. I would start on the DIME website. I am sure there is a hoop for your machine. The link to their site is in the description under the video. You may have to click more info to see it. Thanks for watching. April
I have quilted many quilts on my Bernina 770QE and my designs always line up at the beginning, I’ve never had one where I had to try to match it up at the end. I’ve used Designs by JuJu and Amelia Scot end to end designs. I think that’s her name. It would be really difficult to line them up at the end especially if you didn’t have the machine that shows the design on the quilt. Thanks for all the info, I want to get one of the guards for the size. I have a question for you, how do you keep your back straight so there aren’t any wrinkles? I use fusible batting but still have trouble sometimes. Your quilt is so cute and the quilting looks great. Thanks for the video.
On keeping the wrinkles out the only things I can think of that I do are smoothing over and over and flipping it to the back after smoothing the front to smooth again. And I roll my quilt up to store before quilting instead of folding. That seems to reduce the wrinkling you get when you fold it. Thank you for watching and commenting. April
Great stitch out April, just as a suggestion, print out the design and tape it where you want the next design to stitch, then move your needle to that point to line it up and your stitching will be where you want them, no longer will it be just happen stants close. RUclips, Power Tools with Thread shows excellent tutorials on this with Juju Designs.
The back looked good to me but you could see the knot where the machine started each design. I would think those could be buried if they bothered you. I am not sure if you can turn off the thread setting at the beginning of the embroidery design on my machine or not. I feel like you should be able to but the knots on the back don’t bother me so I haven’t looked into it. Thank you for watching and commenting. April
I have the Brother Luminaire XP2. The hoop is by DIME and it is call Snap Hoop Monster. I got it at my Sewing and Vacuum Authority. It is also available online. Thank you for watching and commenting. April

I'm thinking about getting an embroidery machine. I enjoy the process of sewing so it's a hard decision. Do you enjoy sitting there while the machine does the work? Do you ever get bored?

How is the back? I see you did not pull up your bobbin thread like some do, just wondering how that works because I think I can do it otherwise.
The back looked good to me but you could see the knot where the machine started each design. I would think those could be buried if they bothered you. I'm curious about what dictates the speed of the stitching?
The machine controls the speed
Hope that answers you if not let me know

I have the Brother Luminaire XP2. The hoop is by DIME and it is call Snap Hoop Monster. I got it at my Sewing and Vacuum Authority. It is also available online. Thank you for watching and commenting.
