  • How to quilt with your embroidery machine. In this tutorial I walk you through using the new Kimberbell Clear Blue Tiles to quilt your quilt. This is a total game changer for quilting your quilts. You can use any embroidery machine to quilt your quilt with the tiles. There are block tiles and border tiles. I am super excited about quilting my baby quilt with the tiles and my embroidery machine. I also used my DIME Snap Hoops to quilt with my embroidery machine. I highly recommend using magnetic hoops as it will save your hands, especially when pushing through super thick fabric like a quilt sandwich.
You can purchase Kimberbell Clear Blue Tiles Here: (I have the essentials set and the expansion set. The expansion set has larger tiles for larger hoops.)

Yay! So, I’m not the only one with miss piggy in the sewing room! I’ve loved her since I was a girl and held on to some of my favorite ones

Thank you for showing us embroidery. I have a Bernina. I registered for edge to edge with dime to learn.
    I’ll definitely follow you.

Couple of suggestions: 1) I recommend putting on the paper ruler strips that came with your hoop, it really helps with placement; 2) before you start stitching, I recommend using your stitch count view (button on the bottom of your screen that shows the needle and minus/plus symbols) - that way should anything go wrong during the stitchout, you know where you are and can reverse stitch by stitch to get back to where it failed. I also use it to preview where stitches will land when aligning rows or columns, you can skip around by 100 and 1000 stitch increments.

May I ask you exactly what magnetic hoop you got? I have the same DreamMachine 2 and hoping to order one myself !!! Thank you so much, I have been learning this technique and love doing it. BUT, the hooping is very difficult ! Especially with a larger quilt ! Thank you so much !!

How do you make sure your design is lined up correctly and not wonky in the magnetic hoop? I have two of those magnetic hoops, but I can't figure out how to make sure the quilt sandwich is straight in those hoops. I have the ruler stickers on the hoops, but it's so difficult trying to make sure it's straight that I just don't use them! I love the little line on the regular hoops that help ya line stuff up. I have a Babylock Destiny 2 with a camera, but not sure how that works. I really need to read up on that in the manual, maybe that's what I'm missing. Thanks for this video!!!

Hi Carla- The camera is a total game changer. Since your machine has that capability, I highly recommend using that feature to line up your quilting designs. It’s a little tricky at first, but just play with it on some scrap quilt sandwiches first and then you’ll get the hang of it and love it!
