you can tap the mold on the counter a couple times while pouring and after pouring to help get rid of air bubbles. Also if you use muffin trays, it is better to grease them or use wax paper. Sometimes its hard to get the soap out after (from my experience). And yes, too much food coloring may dye skin a bit, but I have heard others say its fine.
Everyone saying "don't use food coloring" because it will stain your skin, no, it won't stain your skin because of the oil and shower gel, if you choose to make this and don't use oil or the gel than it will most likely stain your skin, great video Miibooth.
The soap you have melted isn't really soap, it's a mix of detergent bars. That's why it behaves how it does when trying to melt, pour and set. However I think it's a great way of recycling those slivers that we all get fed up with breaking into little pieces and end up binning, so it's great to see a way of reusing those too.
Thank you so much for the post-process soap demonstration, I was wary of using food coloring to add to my soap because it would possibly stain the skin, but it appears here that it doesn't stain at all.
For speed I chopped then up bigger and then just used my blender to turn them into the size of grains of rice - now soaking :) EDIT: After soaking for a while it had clumped and turned lumpy, I blended again until smooth and left for further soaking. Then I'll heat. Thanks for this video, I travelled quite a bit and each time I kept the soap(s) I opened from the hotel (since they usually just throw them away). After 10 years they take up a large tub, I've split them into three batches (three different scents and colours).
Thank you for a great presentation. The only thing I did not get is the thing you added that sounded like you said 'sharjel'? I'm not sure what you said or what it is. Thanks.
thanks, I have a drawer full of soap to do this with, I was planning on using a short piece of stainless steel tubing about 2" in diameter and my hydraulic press to press them into usable shapes but this may work better
Wonder what else will work for soap molds? When the silicone molds are not accessible and if your in a hurry, could u use regular ice trays or put wax paper into muffin pans? Help
Very creative but food dye will dye your skin!!!!! You need soap dye!!!! Quick sprays of alcohol on the mixture as you pour will eliminate air bubbles. I haven't seen adding so much water to the mix but hey it's a learning process. 😬
I'm wondering if it works out any cheaper. You have to buy all the other ingredients, and have it on the electric for 20 minutes, keep a pan and moulds specially for this. With all the expense and time involved, you may be better off just buying value priced soap.
Hi! I have just experienced a little hardship in melting the recycled soaps but i managed to mix the soap mixture with the ingredients i intended to add but i omitted the oil. I am waiting for the soap to cool down now. :D Hopefully it works!
Doubt I'll get any responses, but I need to know what to do if my 'soap soup' is too liquidy. I guess I had too much water in the mixture. For next time. I'm guessing this batch is screwed😞
Nope, you can slowly heat it up stirring to let some of the water evaporate, let it cool down and pour it into the molds. letting it sit longer the water is going to evaporate eventually.
Instead of going thru all this pain.. the best way is to tightly press the left over small slice of soap to the brand new wet soap. It ll get stuck to it.. and then It 'll get used up with the new soap. This way I have no left over soaps at all.
@@emilyhughes4297 Well, wouldn't those same original bars of soap (the ones you call "normal") be releasing the same toxic chemicals whilst one is, for instance, showering with hot water?
@@emilyhughes4297 that would be the same toxin that people used to use to boil corn in to make hominy to eat, lye. Once the soap turns into soap, the toxic phase has passed.
That air bubles was actually water. Water evaporate and goes away then create air bubles just like that when the mixture dries. Just like the concrete. Soap mixture shouldn't have any water.
Actually this is one of the best soap making videos on RUclips. Simple and to the point, no unnecessary jibber jabber in between. Good job

💐💐💐💐This is the EASIEST & BEST way to make reformed soap 🧼 bars -THANK YOU SO MUCH !!!!!💐💐💐💐
Best video on how to make soap I've seen. Thank you for posting it.
thank you for taking the time to show this, I now have a new project with the bags of soap slivers I need to recycle. Cheers and thank you.
+af1023 You're welcome :)

Great tutorial. I did mine with more pieces and came out with 15 whole bars. Wish I could attach a pic. Didn't use food coloring though.
Awesome no chit chat straight to it . Best one I’ve seen yet
I have been searching ALL over the internet and looking how to reuse these little slivers of soap, you DO NOT know how releaved I🤣 am
Glad i could help 😃
I add oatmeal, which is very good for the skin, especially the face! I leave out the oil and the coloring.
I add some neem juice and also spinach and ponnanganni alternenthera from my garden and use it for herbal soap💕
Don't use food coloring because it will stain your skin.
This video made me hungry I want some cupcakes now I know it has nothing to do with this video but still I'm a greedy fat kid inside don't judge me.
Not everyone: some food colours are water-soluble and don't stain on skin or sink.
It will only stain if there is a lot of it. And also, it's diluted, do it won't stain your skin.
I tried this no stains
oh yeah
I use a grater to make soap shavings instead of cutting them up. It really cuts down on the "soak" time and eliminates a lot of the lumps.
Lisa Nix how long do you soak it for when you grate it?
@@lydia132012 hrs … or less your own disgression .. 9-18-23
That's cool
Wish I knew this 2 years ago
For 12th standard project
Thank you for making this. So simple, just need time. Heading to the store now to get rubber muffin trays!
Paul thank you for your service to this country! God bless you
Scillicon tray
So the key is to just add enough water to cover the grated soap
Spray it with alcohol after putting it into molds.. This will pop the bubbles later on..
Good idea. will try it next time. Thanks :)
Yes that works well. The advantage of leaving the air bubbles, causes the soap float in the bath rather then sinking. 👍
Thanks! I like the way you experiment along the way in making the soap.
Love this idea! it's really neat! Thank you!

What do you mean? Could you explain please? You mean he melted detergent bars and not soap?

I'm genuinely surprised that you were able to make MORE soap out of that little bit of soap. I didn't think it would harden! I'm going to do this!
They look beautiful!

Romin Hawk shower gel
Thank you for this video. I've been wondering what to do with all my soap bits.
What is the ratio of water to left over soap? And what is the hardness of the soap after doing this?
Thanks for the Soap Sludge bar recipe!
Thanks man , now I know how to save my Neutrogena soap bars I've accumulated minus some of the steps you've showed us
I really like this method it's so easy I have lots of leftover soap with a family of 8
Dear how much water should be added new friend I tried making soap but it became much liquid n now using as handwash
THANKS ALOT! THE FOOD COLORING DYED MY SKIN FOR WEEKS!!!! (but overall a good guide)
Mowgli RS you poor thing. Next time use soap dye. Never use food dye it's not made for that. 👍🏼😳
thank you for the tip! It will save a few days of awkward glances lol
Where do you buy soap dye?
Hobby stores or online.
Put brown food coloring and use it for a fake tan. Lol
That is how my ima did it way back in 1950s
wow very helpful.....i dont need to use any food coloring but the rest of the steps are pretty simple and do it at home
Thank you for your video. Well done! I liked the way you say "mushy". Very cute. Blessings to you, sir. From Australia.
thanks! I always wondered how to do this
Love your Swatch watch my guy! Nice video !
iI'm thinking if you use an empty travel soap dish as a mold you will get a bar of soap ..
Nicely done. Many thanks for a great tutorial!
I like to add little chunks of soap into the mixture because it feels good on the skin!

Well explained video! Thank you. 👍
Glad it was helpful!
Can I skip shower gel or the shower gel is also important
Can you plz inform
Awesome video!!! Very informative. Thanks!!
Did anyone see the soap that was left in the bowl😂😂😂😂
Lol 😂😂😂
interesting and thank you for the video
Great video! Thank you so much!!

As he stated you don't have to use the dye, scented oil or the shower gel...just the soap and water.
It's fun though
I would do it, to make cute soaps for my guest bathroom, those are more expensive. Also this looks fun!
You can omit some ingredients, I'm sure you have shower gel and oil, you can use plastic containers for the mould which you must have
Really good tips!
Has anyone used the food processor to chop the soap first?
I wouldn't. I broke my food processor asking it to chop up some reasonably ordinary food item. Had to throw the machine.
Scrape it with a knife or use a grater
Yes I did. Works fine

So how was the outcome?
@@Ahmadalias1 It turned out well and lasted longer too.
Great job 👏
great video! TFS
Thank you. Very helpful.
Why don't you wet the soap sliver then stick to new bar of soap .. easy .. no need to do all those stuffs
I suggest you try that and answer your own question.
Because they don't stick to the new bar very well.
Besides... this looks like FUN!
Thanks for the info friend!

Do I need to apply oil on the mould surface of silicon or not needed?
No …

Let me show you a demo 😂😂 great video!
Can I add Shea butter to this when on stove??
Yes

Yeah also you probably shouldn't be heating up normal soap since this could maybe release toxic chemicals

Why do you add the Olive Oil?
Moisturizer
I just wanted to make sure that the food coloring wont stain on hands?
What was the ingredient after the oil i could not make it out and am so ready to try this minus the food coloring
Not sure, either. . Can anyone help?
Very good and informative - you have given me some great ideas!
If you use white soap leftover its ok, with coloring, but for none white soaps it would become a darker color.
Cool I love the video
Can I microwave the soap scarps. If yes then for how much time?

Wow useful hack
Definitely people who are here to make soaps will look at a Nokia being cut video ;)
Could you please tell me what the ingredient was you added for foam ?
shower gel, but I'm trying my fav shampoo in mine
good hack
Very nice & direct video :-)
Thanks :)
Nice!
Good video thanks
Thank you great video
Thanks. I'm glad you liked it :)
Thank you so much
beware! "vegetable oil is Palm Oil! which you also find in most soaps and shampoos... :(
i cant get mine to work what compiler is he using and can he upload his configs?
Awesome
What gel is that?
Any shower will work !!
What can use instead if you don't have the mould
Small cardboard boxes lines with wax paper, cookie cutters, plastic Easter egg halves, etc...
Icecream box.
@@sudhahiremath2388 You do mean the pint-size containers, not the quart-size BOXES, right? Yikes!
@@SusieVKaufmanduh!!
It has been well over 24 hours and my soap has not hardened. It's about the consistency of a stale marshmallow. Any suggestions?
Yeah you used to much water or sometimes it can be because of using to much oil
Nice!!!
I love it
I just wanted to cheat on my soap sculpture.
Can i omit shower gel?
Yes can omit shower gel!
It's called rebatching. You used way too much water. Next time use a double boiler or crock pot and add only a few teaspoons water.
Yeah, i'm gonna trow my soap scraps away... to much of a mess, I'll just buy cuz it's cheap. Maybe in survival / bushcraft mode! Thx
I usually stick the little sliver on to the next bar of soap when the little sliver is wet. Dries fine, no waste or mess.
Nice
Skip food coloring. It will ruin clothes and counters
Who’s got time for this-the power from your stove probably costs more than just buying new soap
Thq🤗
