Great talk! Lame disclaimer from TEDx, the presentation is about nutrition science, not the speaker opinions. Why are you so afraid of contradicting industry interests ?

Why the disclaimer from Ted? There is nothing here that is controversial - his message is supported by the overwhelming preponderance of the peer-reviewed evidence - much of which he quotes.

Years ago, I gave birth to a premature daughter. I switched my diet while pregnant. Less meat.
    But a pregnancy requires protein.
My daughter survived, but wouldn't gain weight. I had to make sure she got protein. As she ate meat, she got stronger and met her milestones.
I tried to a time to go meatless. My Asthma got so bad. I had vitamin deficiencies. I had to at least eat chicken.
I tried it again recently. I no longer make B12. I needed monthly shots now. And I was very weak.
I had to return to eat chicken. My asthma got better, but I damaged production of B12. I will still need these monthly shots.
An all plant diet is a lie. Moderation is best. Perhaps cut down on meat, but don't eliminate them.
I know many other people are ill without any meat.
    You need protein.
You can have a balance diet. Increase plant based food, but don't eliminate meat entirely.
He forgot to mention stress as a factor to diseases. He didn't emphasis exercise.
That is why there is a disclaimer here. He doesn't know your situation, your genetics, your disposition.
He can't make these great generalizations!

Avoid Sugar, it's toxic. Avoid ALL grains, they were healthy 100 years ago, no more. All the goodness has been removed for an infinite shelf life. Avoid seed oils, vegetable oils along with Canola are both highly refined and are high in Omega 6 (which is inflammatory), Only use Real Olive Oil, Real Avocado Oil and UNprocessed UNrefined Coconut Oil. Give these up for 1 week if you can, watch how much better you'll feel. Oh, and meat, must be grass fed (Most animals are fed CORN AND SOY--both are toxic). Meat portions should not exceed the size of your hand (Not counting fingers)

    • @bitfinesse

Humans don’t make B12. It typically arrives in our bodies from poop and bacterial contamination of meats and dairy products. Not a big deal but keep in mind, if you go meatless in the future, B12 is one of those things you just have to supplement. Failure to do so could result in serious damage to the brain and nervous system. I hope your little one is doing great 👊🏼

.The diet he is recommending isn't based on historic data, why is there far more events of cancer now than a hundred years ago. These same so called experts promote Key's plant based diet and we have a epidemic of obesity and type 2 diabetes. plants contain natural and added toxins, corn oil is poison as is sugar, meat is full of steroids. this isn't about foods that make us sick or well its about the profit companies make from filling the shops with processed food like products and until that fact is recognised and our food is returned to its natural form any diet will result in cancers regardless of what you eat.

Grow a garden and cut out sugar and vegetable oil and processed foods or buy organic whole foods basically only eat foods with one ingredient listed on the label. If you need to lose weight go lightly on the carbs- vegetables until you lose the weight. Just doing these things will get you a long way in the health department. Additionally, English is not his mother language (although like most Swedes and people of science from all around the world he speaks very good English) and he lives in Sweden, so predominantly uses his own language.

If these trials are sound then that sounds like the best path already shown to work.
    (Except they don't sound sound)
Other than statistically meaningful evidence of successful diets, the only relevant criteria for a healthy diet/nutrition intake is: What we evolved on over the last 3000 to 10000 years

  • @Rene-uz3eb

Alright this is frustrating. Of the two people mentioned I don't see any trials except stories from their own patients which I might as well get from other advocates like Dr Gundry.
The 2011 paper is on research gate so I requested pdf.
What is the 1999 paper? No info in the talk. The 1955 I can't even get a full abstract, neither did the speaker it cuts off at 5). So I'm coming off of this a bit disappointed and it reminds me of the vegan yt channels who keep touring the same 20 year old one or two studies over and never any updates.
I mean this guy has to know you can't just cite one paper from non peer reviewed source and then claim hey that proves I'm right.

There's so much more. Even LpA is shown to go down. Cardiologist Kim Williams' lectures are worth listening. He is planning to do RTC which would satisfy those who ignore other studies - but who would fund a study which doesn't enhance the interests of big food & pharma? Even famous Dean Ornish has this problem with his ongoing study about WFPBD and Alzheimer's.
Money talks so loud, that truth is still unheard.
