This factory tonneau is available from Toyota (But not in the US). You can purchase the entire kit (tonneau, rails, hardware) from a Toyota dealer in Canada and have it shipped to the US. It arrives on a pallet and is shipped via LTL freight. Mine arrived in about 10 days. I used Sherwood Park Toyota in Alberta.
Agreed, the OEM cover is well worth it. ONLY problem is it really fades to a green moldy look after 3-4 years, and you can use Aerospace 303, to darken it, BUT really bad fade and has to be recoated every 3-4 months. On some of the forums its very common, seems like the UV breaks down the plastic.
Notice the driver side edge on first and second folds are just a tad higher...I figured out the locks on the cover actually have 2 locking positions..once you close it the lock..If you push down where the raised squares are on the cover they will click again and lock. down tighter this has eliminated the gap across the tailgate that allowed you to get your fingers under the cover and access the release handles with the tailgate up.
I was at the grocery store and someone hit the top of my husband’s on the edge and busted it on the middle panel. You have to replace the entire thing.
I have that on my truck my biggest issue with it its not very water tight plus I have to redo the top because of fading for 640.00 from the factory over priced and hopefully I never have to replace the rubber seals on the top
My OEM tonneau started to deteriorate and leak after 5 years. I’m thinking about replacing it with a fiberglass canopy, which in hindsight I should have bought in first place.
I received one for free in the secondary market, but the previous owner lost the mounting hardware. Anyone have an idea where I can possibly get new hardware?
Is Toyota the actual manufacturer of these? I was thinking they might be made by a different manufacturer for Toyota but i cant find that info. Looking to see if i can find one that works the same way as the OEM tacoma tonneau for a different truck
Hello Oscar Camarillo. Yes, the rail side tops of the rear fenders will get new plastic tops. You can cut the cut outs yourself if you do not have them.
@@pentzwerks I am trying to sell mine and someone just came by with a 2022 Tacoma and it didn't appear to have the ability to bolt the latches onto the truck bed. Does the 2022 have a different truck bed that makes this incompatible? I've been searching online and can't find anything to clarify. Thanks!
Hello @@rwogh If the truck did not come with the factory bed cover. You must remove the plastic rails on the side, the holes are covered up by paint matched tape. Remove the tap and that will expose the holes to install the cover. I have to do it on my truck as it did not come factory with the cover.

Hello Naomijeanz22. I would suggest roofing caulking at Home Depot to fill the cracks, then use a rubber strip to cover the joint seals. Lucky in Washington, we have so much rain that nothing gets dried out.
I need to buy this ASAP not craigslist want to find it online new you have a link or tell me where ? Second, what do I need to purchase separately to mount this ? Or it comes as is with all the parts I need to put this on? Thanks

Yes, it's watertight for light to moderate rain. I've never had issues with water getting into bed of the truck.
Is the cover sturdy enough to attach racks on top of the cover?
Possibly, I have one. It’s not leather but also not concrete. I feel like I could run and jump on it, but if I stopped enough on it I could break it.

The bedside caps are standard without cut outs. And the bed cover bedside caps have cuts in them to allow the brackets to show.
