how to stop a refrigerator door from squeeking

- Hello all Rob here and this is another video where I got to solve the problem but not fix the problem. The problem was a Frigidaire refrigerator had a annoying squeeking noise coming from it everytime it was opened. It sounded like it was coming from the top hinge but actually it was the noise echoing from the floor to the ceiling. I found out that the home owners used wd 40 in trying to get it to stop. BUT WD 40 will deteriorate NYLON bushings not stop them from squeeking. SO the answer to getting the refrigerator door to stop squeeking is to clean off the wd 40 as best you can and spray it with 100 percent silicone spray. the one I used was RV silicone spray. I personally think it would be best to take the door off but you might get by by just spraying the hinge
Thanks for watching,

Thanks Rob. Your video stopped me from spraying WD40 on hinge.
Oops Guess I should have watched this video sooner
Thank you. I was just about to go for the WD40 before watching this video.
Great job! Thanks! I've heard that Vasoline (petroleum jelly) works well too.
Thanks for the tip, worked great. I even had a can of that stuff sitting around I had forgotten about ;-)
Answered my question. Thanks.
Thanks so much! It worked on my double door LG. Of course, I also put WD-40 first, so wiped that right off after I heard your video! I had silicone spray and used it on the inside and outside - and it worked!! Thanks much...
Thanks worked like a charm. 💯 WD40 makes a Silicone spray
Thats the problem i had with my door refrigerater , thanks so much.
Much appreciated info, thanks!
Weird.. I used WD40 and didn't immediately fix the squeak. I watched this video and realized that I don't have a silicon spray. I tried the refrigerator door again but the squeak seems to be fixed. I've never heard the squeak again and went back to this video to share my experience. Thumbs up if this helps. :)
He says it deteriorates it over time. It will fix it but most likely you will have to replace the nylon bushing in the future.
Thanks, I was about to buy WD-40
I only used silicone spray to lubricate my bushings, and it actually made the squeaking and popping WORSE! Any idea why?
How do you fix it if it's your top bushing? There is no visible bushing
