Congratulations to Bubba Watson for winning the 2018 WGC Dell Match Play today!
Bubba Watson definitely has one of the most unique swings on tour and is one of the only guys who really still curves the ball a lot around the course.
How does he have all of these unique pieces that a lot of people would say are no good but still hit these shots and win tournaments?
I thought I would take a look at his swing for you guys and explain exactly what Bubba Watson does that is so different and how he makes it all work.

Bubba's golf swing is as classic as it gets. No modern golf frozen hips and back cracking "body torquing/rubber banding back twisting" swing there! Nor for Snead, Nicklaus, Player, Bob Jones, Mike Austin. etc. Good stuff here that will NOT result in back injury!

Also has a lot of the young Nicklaus swing elements - great comparison video - the self taught old swing vs the modern robot perfect swing. Amazing how it still comes down to putting.

Agreed! A lot of the older players had these "athletic" moves in there naturally which pre setup beautiful transition and downswing moves without having them taught in.

What possible questions could anyone have regarding that swing? We can't even execute a so called 'normal' swing like Adam Scott 😂 On a side note, I've been working on 'getting in the slot' which I think means getting the club on plane while creating torque between the lower and upper body. To say it's made a dramatic difference in my swing is an understatement. Would be interested to hear your thoughts on that in a video one day.
