I was heading to an appointment today listening to F&S and thought I need to learn Salty Dog Blues. I knew Jimbo would have a lesson on it. Thanks Jim!!!
Jim, I want to thank you for your time and effort helping us be the pickers we dream to be! Your knowledge and teaching skills are amazing! Very warm, Thank You!
This is outstanding. Thank you so much for breaking it down. Your teaching methodology reminds me of my teacher, Bobby Atkins. I didn't get to learn this one before he passed. Thanks, Jim. RIP Bob.
Still practicing all the other tunes, now I’ve got a new one to learn! We’ve just been through a major ice storm and 4 days without power.Practicing my banjo was the only thing that made me smile! Love your lessons Jim,thanks for sharing with us!
Fantastic. Three different ways to play the same tune. I suppose you can mix and match them too. I'm a subscriber and anyone starting out or advanced can pick up great tips from you Jim. I do appreciate you sharing your knowledge and experience with the rest is trying to do better!
Hi Jim, and thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with us. Your videos are easy to follow and learn from. I am really enjoying learning to play! God Bless
Some new licks in there for me. I’ve always played that a little different. Now It’ll sound like I have added some spice to it. Love the ideas. Keep em coming.
The banjo has always been my favorite instrument to listen to, keep thinking I want to try to learn how to play one but life keeps getting in the way. Thank you sir for these videos!
I got this song down in about 30minutes. It was fairly easy I thought. Thanks Jim. Now I can play 6 songs. You're a fine teacher. My favorite. You're patient with your teaching.👍😃
I've learned so much from your videos! I've had my banjo for almost two months and am making progress! I'd love to see you make a video of Cold Frosty Morning, a song I'm struggling to learn.
Love listening to you play!! I hope to get as good as you one day. Getting life to slow down long enough to practice is the challenge!! But I'll be learning from you and your videos! When I get there, I'll play for you!! God bless!
Brilliant jim i been messing about with this tune for ages fron various records and was not running smoothly thanks to this arrangement i have it at last 👍👍 thank you jim 👍
Thanks for that Jim, first time I heard that was on Andy Griffith (not in reruns! lol) when Maggie Peterson sang it with the Dillards. Liked it then, still do, thanks for the lesson!
Could you please do a guide like this for scruggs break on 'when the angels carry me home' cant find a guide anywhere for that one and its a lovely break, thanks Jim 👍
So Jim , I edit the title and re up loaded Sooo it’s titled Jim Panky View . Others on there too you may find and give ya chuckle ,... talk to soon have a great day tomorrow .!
@@JimPankey Figured. You've got your whole great channel here. I was just hoping you would share your insight on why a person might want to play or own a tenor guitar.
I went into a Guitar Center last week to inquire about ordering a RK-35R. I haven't "pulled the trigger" yet; gotta make a few financial decisions first. One thing I couldn't find in store or on their website though is finger picks. Can you point me in the direction of a few other online vendors that I might want to consider for the ancillary items needed to learn to play and maintain a banjo?
Having a leather strap (or any strap that has some "traction") will help with that. Most inexpensive banjos are "neck heavy", so getting a leather strap to help keep it from slipping is really the best solution.
I had a material strap and didn’t like it,my banjo kept slipping down.So I ordered a leather one with padding for the shoulder and absolutely love it,it’s almost as though the banjo holds itself and no pressure on my shoulder. You can find tutorials on how to install a leather strap, that’s what I did. Good luck :)
There are quite a few on my channel... start with this one: Devil's Dream - Melodic Bluegrass Banjo - Quick Walk Thru and Demo ruclips.net/video/8SDL1LCsNYE/видео.html
Hey hey. Mr Panky I failed to say to you I have a channel and some few videos on me making home made banjos you may be interested in. I just saw a Recording King video with you playing a Tenor Guitar. I was hugely disappointed you didn't say anything throughout the video.
Because it was just a demo video for RK. Whenever I demo for them I do exactly what they ask.

Have you already done a video of salt creek?
if you don't mind me asking, what make of banjo are you playing in this video lesson.. love the sound of her..
I'm playing my Recording King M5
do you have the tab that I could buy for this?
I don’t.

@@JimPankey - Thanks Jim. I still haven't fully decided on which banjo to purchase. I found the Deering Good Time Two as another viable option.
Do video on attaching a banjo strap please. I can't get mine right for some reason....I'm having to support the neck too much due to it dipping down..

Hey buddy I left San Diego and came to Kings port how much for a lesson in person on down in the willow garden
I'm pretty good ways from Kingsport, but if you're ever down this way I usually get $50/hour for lessons.
@@JimPankey exactly what part is it? I dont mind driving ive been almost every where im use to it.
Jim where did you get your banjo strap fun? I have been looking for one?
That’s a Huber strap. :). Got it from banjo.com
What length do you use?
Jim Pankey what length do you use?
This one is a 60" but a 54" would have been fine... The 60 is really longer than I needed so I just adjusted it to fit.
Hey Jim. Do you play any sort of chromatic or melodic banjo?I would be very happy to see a lesson on that. 😀😀
