Another great lesson from Mr Pankey! If you haven't already, I encourage everyone to sign up to his Patreon so we can keep supporting this wonderful teacher.
I have done my second day of practising Banjo Signal ......great classic...and on a daily basis I return to one of your lessons 1 to ten.....just for practising.....I love it......I go and see where my wife is......LOL
Great pick Jim! Thanks so much! I have been watching your videos now for 10 months and can play quite a few songs now all thanks to you! Your an awesome teacher, better than anyone I have found online or in person. I am so grateful for the way you teach Jim, Your keeping banjo cool in the 21st century! Keep the new songs coming!
Jim i think your videos are the greatest and i'm only sad i don't live closer to get private lessons. Thank you so much for offering your tabs i happily bought them all!
Great tune---I got it, Jim!----next is finding the single string Don Reno licks to incorporate into the mix. This is really fun to play too. Thanks a bunch Mr. Pankey, you continue to impress me in your teaching abilities. If this isn't technical enough for some, check out Jason Skinners video of this one---he does straight Reno and it's really hard...lol...cheers everyone--this song sounds harder than it is, and Jim has provided all the tools to do it if you have been learning from his BG banjo series.
Hey Jim, I just want to say you have been the most entertaining and informative online banjo teacher that I've come across (so much so that I've become a Patreon patron!). Please keep putting up material and spreading all of the knowledge and joy! Do you also do skype lessons by chance?
Hey Jimbo I have to agree with Draknyon Ankara, a T shirt with hey all Jim Pankey here would sell like hot cakes! Come on buddy crack em out ? Mines xtra large every colour too lol
Hey Jim ;-) im learning this lesson, and i have problems to jump from the first part to the second part... you have a tipp for me? Thanks for your time!!
What about the single string picking Jim? Don on his recordings picks a lot of single string, something I am struggling with at the moment but would like to improve. Great video BTW. 👍
Obviously this video was geared to the beginner/intermediate player - like the bulk of my lessons. By the time my private students start exploring single string they pretty much all "graduate" themselves since they're at a level where they really don't need me. I may do an introductory single string video at some point, but I really can't think of anything that fits with what I'm trying to do here. I'll have to give it more thought; maybe I'll ponder up something just right. As anything though, single string just takes a lot of slow practice until it starts to make sense. A good place to start would be the single string sequence out of follow the leader... ruclips.net/video/O8WlrNIXDek/видео.html
@@JimPankey Thanks Jim, I'm only an intermediate player myself and probably I'm trying to get ahead of myself by learning the single string picking. Still a great video and your videos are a great source of learning. Thanks again Jim. 👍
Yeah, you can only really notice it on the 4th string walk down, Not so much on the 5th. Also Jim do you know the tune: White Oak Breakdown, it's a Don Stover tune that I can't find videos or tabs for. ruclips.net/video/Xa3rRBeN-ZQ/видео.html
You can grab the tab for it at wildjimbo.sellfy.store/p/l2lh/

Fab .Great double stops .Love to know what thumb pick you use Jim.
It’s a BlueChip (JD, large)
Those blue chips are great. 👍👍expensive. But they’ll last forever!
Hi Jim, loving your lessons. I was wondering can you play an Irish Song called Grace. I would love you to break this song down.
Don’t know that one. :)
@@JimPankey it's called Grace by Jim Kelly fantastic song on you tube.. Words are beautiful I was just wondering if you knew off it.
Nice version of Banjo Signal, Jim. Just FYI, Banjo Signal was written by Julian "Smiley" Hobbs. He's a great player, but not very well known. -=P=-
Ooooo… thanks for that info!!

If I had ANY skill with being able to come up with a drawing that looked good I’d totally do it.
Jim Pankey no drawing Jimbo just words ! People would google you out of curiosity! You would become the star that you are ! Jim Pankey the legend !
@@bartholomewblack33 I'll see what I can come up with...
There should be one or two in my Teespring shop now! teespring.com/stores/wild-jimbos-banjo-ranch-store
Jim Pankey got them coming ! Excellent!

Only tip there would be to focus on where you’re going and not where you are. Look at the fret you want to be at next. ...and practice.
Ok, thank you for the quick response! Ill learn it, then i‘ll show it to you😝👍

"....since they're at a level where they don't need me."
Playing banjo without you, Jim?
That would be like strawberries without the cream.
When I do the walk downs my 1st string takes over and the 2nd 4th & 5th can barley be heard. Any advise?
Being aware of that should help you resolve it. You'll just have to think about hitting the strings where they'll be equal.
Yeah, you can only really notice it on the 4th string walk down, Not so much on the 5th. Also Jim do you know the tune: White Oak Breakdown, it's a Don Stover tune that I can't find videos or tabs for.

That’s such a great tune. Wish I had learned it back when I was smarter. lol
lol, yeah I've been wanting to learn it. Stover was and still is such and underrated banjo picker.
rly nice, love you :)
Hey jim could you make a vidéo to learn "mama tried" ?
Thanks
Thanks for watching 😀
Hey
Jim I just uploaded my homemade banjo video . Sorry I took so long . Check it out . It might go with your folk school
Hi
Use those same positions and fret the fifth string with it and it will sound more like reno
Exactly like I show second half of the A-part.
Great tune
I try other banjo teachers. And they just cant teach like jim does.
Thanks for the kind words.
Frettin' the fifth??? What kind of witchery is this?!
...the very best kind. :)
