I really miss this cartoon. ❤
Glad I was able to touch old memories with this simple video man. Cheers and hope you can drop by again for upcoming treasures from the yesteryears 🥂😁
@@retrotoonsrewind My best regards! Cheers! ❤👊🥂🍾
Me too alan we need a movie Now
Hey alan one thing couldve made it better and that is having creeds my sacrifice playing in the background
That makes two of us👍🏻👍🏻.
Jaga became the Obi-Wan Kenobi of the series, always dispensing wisdom to Lion-O to help him grow as a true Lord of the Thundercats
True that :)
He even gave him his strength from behind the shadow realm to help Lion-O defeat Grune. Jaga was the one before Neo 😢
Or just like the relationship between Optimus Prime and Alpha Trion.
That's what I've been saying to. Jaga like Obi-Wan Kenobi
It is a wonder how Star Wars affects story telling.
That's how you write a mentor's end period. Old soldiers never die. They just fade away
I want a cartoon series of Jaga and his adventures while the cats slept.
He would occasionally wake a cat up to help him then he'd put them back to sleep.
How he met the Berbil's in space and others. How he fought off the mutants and a total Star Trek Voyager vibe. It'd be awesome!!!
Seria sem dúvida nenhuma o melhor desenho seria
😮 que buena sería aunque sea uno o dos capítulos ver su travesía
This was one of my favorite cartoons as a kid ✌🏾 ( Hoooooooooooooo ! )
Hoooooooooooo!🧡🖤🐯
@@daradiant1One of my favorite episodes was when Jaga fought Groom in the spiritual realm / arena & that episode was Stella ✌🏾
RIP Jaga - gone but not forgotten.
😢IT BROUGHT TEARS 😭 TO MY EYES WHEN I SAW IT!!!!
To this day, whenever a family member has been away from me too long, I tell them, "Thank Jaga, I heard from you!"
Wow thanks for the advice. Even though we already learned this from George Lucas back in 1977.
Yes! From vhs to dvd to online... I've always owned the entire series.
Oh man that is awesome! Thank you so much for watching. I hope you'll enjoy the other videos I made too and follow me on my socials. Cheers! 🥂😊
Have you seen 2011 thundercats and the fucking disgraceful thundercats roar cullen?
@@timbonczyk4116We don't speak of the derpy looking abomination, thankfully it was cancelled
🎉😂❤ OMG the DVD box set I got (after 2000) loved and hated it at the same time.
Loved the fact that I had it so I could enjoy it once again in its entirely. Have my 2 sons grow up watching it. And not just the reboot. They loved the original series better btw.
Hated is actually too strong of a word. I guess I was disappointed at the way the episodes that should of been connected together were in fact Not. Ya know OUT OF ORDER. For example the TRIALS that LION-O had to go through...face each member of his pack and win. A 5 parter I believe. Well those episodes were interrupted with other episodes in that same season.
OCD was badly triggered 😆.
had this on vhs as kid, such a good show.
This was a very emotional scene .Thunder Cats was really deep ❤
I remember it well, it deeply impacted me. I’ve never been the same since.
His memory lives on, in everyone of us .
True that! Hoooooooooooo! 🥂😍
Yes!
Amen
Lessons in honor and virtue in children's cartoons. Wish animators still used this.
This was the saddest scene of the ThunderCats 🥺
I know. And it was a very powerful way to start the series, and draw kids into following the story. Thanks so much for the comment and for watching. Hope you can drop by again to watch my other videos 😁🥂
It goes with the scene of Optimus and Artax oassing. They really knew how to hit us.
Haven't seen this in easily 25 years but could still quote it. Happy days 😊
Happy days indeed my friend and I am happy my channel made you remember 😃
One of the most memorable moments in 80s cartoon history!!
Absolutely! Thanks for dropping by and I hope you'll enjoy the other videos 🥂😁
@@retrotoonsrewind Sure thing!! And thank you for responding to my comment!😁👍
@@RemmingtonScarpulla people like you keep me fueled to continue making more content man. I hope you can share it with friends who would be interested in retro cartoons. Cheers!
@@retrotoonsrewind will do!! Keep pumping out the good content! Cheers!
When he tells tigra off… “Jaga we’ll take our chances together” “Enough! I am by far the oldest of you” such an emotional scene for a kids show, incredible ❤
Our shows had great content back then and obviously stayed in our hearts. Thanks for dropping by and leaving a comment :)
I so remember this episode!! The first episode of Thunder Cats! I loved this show and wanted to get EVERY toy and action figure. I got a couple of them and now that I’m an adult, I have managed to get every Thunder Cat action figure I wanted as a kid! I even had some help from my husband. I also have the complete TV series on DVD. I love these guys!!
@@pamparliament8676 I am redoing one of my bedrooms, and it is going to include the Sword of Omens in it. I found a replica of it at TEMU but my bedroom will have a video gaming system, and some comic book / cartoon / action figures in it. ✌🏾
¿Cuando era niño? 🤨 ¿mi marido? 🤢🤮
Ain't nothing like the '80s! ThunderCats HOOOOOOO!
This hurt my soul when I was a kid
I know. They do not make story lines like used to my friend. That opening episode had a tragic start.
Jaga didn’t have a single spot even though he’s a Jaguar
True! would be nice if they could do a short series during the prime years of Jaga and King Claudus 😊🍻
@@retrotoonsrewindtime to start crowd funding lol would love to see it
Lol!
Never knew that
Maybe they are under his cape.
Yes 👍 I remember this😅😂 my favorite cartoon 😢
Yeah, the ship was in pristine working order, and then Jaga stabbed the sword into it, piercing vital circuitry, resulting in their crash landing.
The first ever episode exodus absolutely loved it as a child and it still holds today
Glad you liked the short clip :) and thanks for dropping by. See you on the next vids
My dad watched this when he was a kid and he really loved the show
We had great cartoons too :)
Daaaaamnnnn! As if it were yesterday! Madness!
True that! :)
I remember it well. I cried when Jaga disintegrated and the ThunderCats reached planet Earth without him, though his spirit guided Lion O and the rest of the ThunderCats throughout their adventures. 🙏🏻❤️😊
Dam i must have been 4 years old when i first saw this on TV. I was so sad when Jaga died. But is such a great message and lesson of self sacrifice. Jaga is a true hero. I wish kids has this now instead of all the garbage on now! 😂
This episode was by far the best out of the series.
It definitely is. A well executed opening episode 😁🥂
@@retrotoonsrewind The best...in my opinion.
Never forget never...
Exactly why I made this channel. Thank you for dropping a comment 😁
One of the greatest cartoons ever. To bad they don't make cartoons like this anymore.
My youngest brother,& I watched THUNDERCATS every weekday afternoon together without fail. That was our way of binding with eachother.we both loved the show
I'm glad it brought back memories and thanks for dropping a comment :)
I liked a lot this cartoon! It reminds me my childhood. Thanks
I'm very happy it brought back great old memories. Thanks for sharing in the comment :)
This clip I only saw this one time. When I say one time I mean one time. I love this show back in the day!
I saw this episode the day I lost my grandad 😢. I tried so hard not to cry because he was the Jaga of our Family and didn't want us to feel sad if his passing.
The music made it no better to endure. 😢 Jaga!
I Love 💘The Original Thundercats Cartoon.
Glad you liked this one and thank you for dropping a comment, cartoon fan! :-)
I still have the F.H.E. (Family Home Entertainment) VHS videotapes of the ThunderCats. I have the 'Exodus' full length movie which is basically the first four episodes of the series combined and it has the uncut portions of the first episode along with the background music/special effects from the 'Unholy Alliance' episode segment. I really wish WB could have taken more time/care when releasing the DVD set for us long-time fans of the show.
Jaga sacrifice let them all live great role model
True thanks for dropping a comment. So nice to see comments like these and knowing how much substance cartoons of our time had; for the stories to be carried to this day in our minds and hearts! Cheers! 🥂😊
I miss this show!
They don't give us stuff that promotes good like this anymore! 😢
This one and Transformers were my favorites when I was a kid!
and he came back after that to save their butts again and again
They don’t make cartoons like this anymore. What an enormous shame!
❤They don't make em like that anymore!
Jaga paid the ultimate price to protect all the thundercats especially young Lion-O who looked up to him as his own father (wisdom words)
I didnt even realize that he aged when i first saw this when it first aired until watching it again now.
Glad to help you look back to the good old days :)
One of the best moments in thundercats for me is when he calls to the sword in the black hole episode when jaga appears to tell him the eye sleeps only til needed
To this day, it still trips me out. Jaga's bracelet let out one beep, then he turned into a splash of energon...like they ain't have to do him like THAT, they could've just let him "fall asleep" one last time and only his bracelet remained in the seat when the ship finally reached Earth.
Jaga just pulled a Jean Grey
I just found out panthro was the grandad from the cosby show .... mind blown.
Amazing yes! 🍻
I cried to this when I was a kid!
Memories 💯 ❤️🔥 📺 ⚡️
Fun fact: the voice actor of Panthro in the ThunderCats was done by the same person who played the grandfather on The Cosby show.
Had alot of japanese anime artists on this was probably why the animation was years ahead for its time
❤🎉yes i remember. One Jaga quote I remember well that isn't said here. Goes something like this 🤔 "Although with the Suspense capsules slows the aging process, Some aging does takes place."
His statement makes sense when we see a child Lion-O as an adult after landing on "3rd🌎" 🤔 Yet it had baffled me as child why didn't the Wiley Twins age like Lion O did? (Just referred to them as the twins is what i called them back then. kit & kat never got older in the series. Poor cubs 😅)
lion o s capsule failed
That's 80s script writing for you.
I remember this as a kid
Beautiful times my friend 😁🥂
@@retrotoonsrewind indeed, they don’t make stuff like this anymore
Yes, I feel the writers were encouraged more to come up with really good plots and scripts. The cartoons my kids watch now are... I don't know, too shallow for my taste.
I remember watching this masterpiece everyday after school on Toonami
I'm glad it brought back memories and thank you for dropping me a comment. Cheers! :)
Yep I remember this.
Super cool opening episode 😊
Yeah catchy song too.
@@KingSunLight absolutely brilliant music indeed. Very anthemic it got stuck in the head of people who grew up watching it. 😅
As a four year old this was just so powerful I remember crying watching this, the 80s cartoons are still the best.
Exciting. I watched it for the first time in Brazil, in 1986. Jaga died with honor.
It's one of the greatest cartoon shows back then. Glad it brought back good memories :)
awww soo many memories 🥰😍
Yay that is the purpose of my videos, bringing back memories - thanks for watching 😍
Oh wow I remember the first episode 👏
Yep I remember this 😊
I remember that scene !!!
JAGA HHHHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Hooooooooo! 🥂
Oh wow that brought some memories back
So glad this short clip brought back memories. It's why I made the channel :)
That is awesome show I it 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
The one of the greatest kids show. Respect to Jaga.
Yes Sir. We never forget this moment. 😢
This scene and music is engraved in me from my childhood
They have a way of staying in our minds through the years :-D
Now, that's a cartoon🤌🏾
Obi-Jaga Kenobi
Haha that could work. Thanks for dropping a comment man 🍻😊🤩
He must’ve been a Jedi. He became one with the force.
Little known fact:
Jaga...
Was Bambi's father.
I remember this
Jaga was the first great OG
I got this scene on dvd
Bouta buy this whole series for my dad on Father’s Day. We used to have it and he man too but my mom threw them away
Shnarff
Now that is a perfect gift for Father's Day! Thanks so much for sharing this comment. Your dad will love that gift I can already imagine his childhood surging back to hime when he sees it 😁🥂
EU LEMBRO.
I'm happy it brought back good memories :)
🎉😂❤👏 from vhs that i recorded straight from TV when it aired and later reruns.....to the DVD box Set as an adult. Did the same thing for JEM &THE HOLOGRAM series too. 😉. 80's rule for cartoons. 📺📼 📀
Now everything is online. Fine whatever. But its not the same.
Yes, I remember this, and I was five when I saw it.
Pretty deep moment for a kids show
Long live the 80s! :)
The reason he did this was he was partially to blame for Thundera’s destruction as he was fighting an evil mutant that had this evil weapon that got knocked out of the mutants hands and it went into Thundera’s core.
Yes it was a sad scene and I hurt because my grandfather died prior to this and knowing Jaga was going to die for them brought me at that young age to tears. You don’t learn the reason behind Thundera’s destruction til way later
The thing is, the episode where it is revealed Jaga inadvertently set the destruction of Thundera in motion always bothered me - I think it was from a later season and I've long suspected that the original writers would have kicked up a stink about it if they were still involved, because it's careless storytelling.
What makes Jaga's sacrifice in "Exodus" so powerful is that he made his decision purely out of love, giving his people their best chance of survival. He willingly commits to years - if not a decade or two - of piloting the ship alone until he dies, and we see him admit that he's not sure if it will be enough; his sacrifice may well be in vain. That's a truly epic and inspired character arc.
The later episode completely undermines this, because it cheapens Jaga's sacrifice by implying he might have done what he did because he felt guilty.
amava esse desenho animado 😍
Yes one of the best of the 80's. Thank you for watching it 😁👍✨
The guardian was never meet Jaga after his death
As a teletubby,he can't see Jaga as a dead corpse in final season of the saga lights season 4,but he see Jaga as ghost in episode 1 season 5 like in thundercats original series episodes.
Fun fact:the guardian consider Jaga lave solo scene thundera was destroyed and he going to found a new home, but Jaga get stated on his chest by the mutants, but in reality he past away.
And the guardians brain getting twisted.
It was a very sad scene but an important moment nonetheless
I own ThunderCats complete series on dvd
You got yourself a real treasure then my friend. Keep it for the next generations to come so they may not be forgotten :-D Hoooooooooooooooo!!!
Why aren’t some of these great cartoons from the 80’s streaming anywhere??
This always made me wonder why Bengali, Lxyn-o and Pumyra didn't age.
Oh my goodness - Excellent point man. Thank you! haha 😊
lion-o's pod was messed up so he aged
their pods worked
I do remember this, and I wonder if he did this because he is the one who destroyed thundra with that sword of plundera Jaga threw into a volcano on his planet which led to the destruction of Thundra🤔.
This was the first ever episode
Yes and a beautiful way to start the story! Cheers! 🍻
I was a little kid and this scene was one of thr 1st where a major character died... But it became like he was a force ghost... So it was ok...
AI this anime eas seeing our future
shorts shouldn't be allowed to make me cry
And the mutants didn't aged
Indeed haha
When anime's actually meant somthing 💪👍💪
(I used google translate I hope it is correct haha)
Wtf there's robo autopilot wtf were you thinking.
Star wars influenced so many things in the 1980's
Star Wars was just a rip off of Valerian and Laureline
In Massachusetts, it was on at 2 p.m. on WSBK.
Sad😢
Am I the only one who had a crush on CHEETARAH?
