Hello Igor, I want to congratulate you on the best sailing channel around for me. It is so informative and interesting about the things and details that one really wants to know. I love your long videos, where we can really take it all in. Your comments are exactly what I want to know. I have been interested in the Neel 51 for a long time and you are confirming a lot of things I suspected. I am extremely glad that the finish is simple and cheap. It makes for an incredibly affordable amazing boat to go anywhere fast and in confort. I can't wait to see the following episodes to learn as much as possible and enjoy this beautiful ride with you. Do not hesitate to take your time and give as much technical details as possible about all aspects of your experience with the boat. I love your relaxed and unpretentious attitude, you are a true sailor, the crew must be feeling very safe and happy with you. The owner is lucky to have you do the delivery. Once again thank you and have a great 2022!

Thank you so much for your instructional videos on the Neel 51. You are a great instructor, even my mother and father love your 4K videos. I was going to purchase the Neel-51 but the price was too expensive for my budget fully equipped with all the toys. So, I decided to step down to purchase a new fully loaded Neel 47. Most people don't realize the Neel product line was designed by a famous team: team naval architect Mark Lombard and racer Eric Bruneel. I recently watched a famous youtube channel of a 45 ft monohull making an upwind passage while getting a massive ass pounding and making the entire crew feed the fish. This makes me very grateful for Neel comfort and safety. 😃

I won’t name who, as i do love their channel.
But with a new born child in a sling… on deck throwing a rope… with no life vest and no life line… some would say: ‘but only maneuvering in a marina’.
But you slip, you hit your head… fall in… game over (unless you are lucky).
I used to paraglide and never understood why we had to wear helmets… until the day i was ground handling getting ready to take off and got picked up by a fluke gust and dragged back up the slope and my head hit a big rock and smashed the helmet to shit. I was shaken… and pulled a few muscles. But I got why there were safety features.

Hi Igor. So on hull 35 there will be a king size bed in the master state room, tall carbon fiber mast and boom, high modulus sails, 13.5 kw generator plus 9kw 24v alternator on the engine, 6 lithium ion batteries 48v 33kw, a ton of solar panels, 60,000 btu AC plus diesel heater, throttle at the nav station as well as the helm, toggle steering at nav station, extra freezer in cockpit, plus, plus. Over 61 years I have never been without a sailing boat and have Neel's top selling broker on my team. Upgrading the engine to 110hp was because of me. Actually I wanted 150hp but it was not possible. In any event I am really enjoying your channel. I wish you a safe passage and fair winds. The engine room is amazing. What hull number are you sailing on?

After your comments about falling in the water at 7kts with a tether - it might be worth looking at the "Backtow" lifejackets from teamo - they're designed to flip you on your back and tow you backwards through the water (they were designed after someone drowned whilst being pulled by their tether), no personal connection with the company (or experience of using them - but the system looks good!)

Doing 6kts on 12kts following wind is very good but doing 7-8kts with 22kts wind is not impressive at all. Just about any boat can do that. Either you were conservative on the sail area or the mainsail was not enough perpendicular to the wind. Impressive is the easy motion of the boat. But a thing of concern would be a big following wave invading the cabin of even breaking the big glass door. Anyways, I really enjoyed the explanations about the radar, AIS and the sextant. Keep it up.

Happy to offer any advice re Greece etc but really try to find someone to join you on your first major trip. The bavaria / med boat thing is all subjective to med mooring ie stern too along with aft cockpit and cabin layout..most importantly they are not built for going across a serious ocean..if your staying in the med and not moving much in the winter they are a safe bet and re sale is good

5.5sog with 8.5tws is really fast for a boat that size. I was expecting it to be faster in higher winds from what you were showing earlier in the trip. I think if you were more familiar with the boat and had some different sails to use, it would be a bit faster, more than 1knot. From others speculation, I'm surprised at you saying its very quiet during passage with no structure creaking. the seas aren't that high but it seems like the boat is very stable, not leaning or bouncing much.

Couldn't stop watching. Excellent camera work, sound and content. Yeoman job explaining and conveying all aspects of the crossing. Very curious what you think the speed would have been with the downwind sails? Think layout of Neel 51 looks ideal DT work and play, the way it rides and smoothness says a lot. I get there are people who want better finishes but the price seems good value. If you can keep speed in double digits with the right sails you are getting comfort and performance which is what makes this boat interesting to me. With satellite high speed coming, the sailing lifestyle may become more popular.

@@IgorStropnik I agree. If need be, I can choose specific upgrades over time that mean a lot to me. With Starlink satellites on horizon, nothing stopping live aboard remote work. But aside from the great features, what kind of speed do you think you would have hit with the parasail or code zero sails. Not a sailor yet but Neel 51 opens my eyes.

Safety checks are a good thing as long as they are actually just that. With a secondary check for trafficking of anything illegal. The later a slightly grey area. If there is evidence of this ok. As with a cop and a traffic stop. You have protections against unreasonable search and seizures. Not ok if this is a fishing expedition with civil asset forfeiture their aim. If you have weapons and you are legally allowed to have them they are legally and correctly stored. They cannot take them. As with any interaction record. Know your local laws for the area you are in be that on land air or water. Also know and stand by your rights.
