Hey there Jeff, thanks for the RS4 build series as well as responding to my email from 12/08/24 regarding the belt on the front tail pulley riding a bit low. You definitely put my mind at ease. Kind regards, Jay Krzcuik, Richmond VA.
7:29.. Good luck fitting it in the heli with the velcro strap with the battery orientated that way. Gotta turn it, but the wires will come off the side now. It's wider than it is tall. (or vice-versa) 14:50 or so.. Okay, as I go along, I see you addressed that situation. ;) You probably shoulda taken care of that when you edited the video, as while we follow along, we all probably made that mistake. lol Also I think the servos are mislabeled in the instructions, VS what they do in the app. I got one and put it together with lots of help from this video. Too bad they don't come with that really nice ESC anymore. I really liked the absence of wires coming off that one. I'm now down to setting up the pitch on the main blades. Waiting for my pitch gauge to come from AMain. I wish you'd spend more time doing the setup through the app, as that really seems to be the best and easiest way to do it. Thanks for the good tips!
Thank you Larry! You already know I had to shorten the wires and make it as clean as possible! I hope I can fly it this weekend if the weather permits!
If you don't like using zip ties for the wires, I've used hot glue, and it works great/rubbing alcohol will remove. If I do use ties, then I usually protect the wires with heat shrink
@@Xplanker that is definitely a idea, personally I’m not a fan of hot glue just because of the stringing lol but it does work very well. I like to get them as clear as possible.
I watch all ur videos and u are the man that I would really trust to do my heli so I would live to send it to u to be worked on and make it right could u do it for me please let me no we're I can send it to for u if u would do it I will appreciate it if u would mate all the best rocky g
Thank you! I appreciate it, definitely take pride in what I build and do. You can send me an email, westhobbiesrc@hotmail.com and we can go over everything what you have what we need pricing all that stuff. I hope that helps!
Awesome! I’m glad the series was helpful. You will enjoy the RS4, great flying heli with a incredible power to weight ratio and can be flown soft and easy or insane 3D!
Thank you Victor! I try lol yeah I think the tail servo should’ve been put inside the frame but maybe they will make an upgrade kit for it in the future!
I would’ve been happy if they just big size the goosky s2 without the tail Motor 😂I’m a beginner and has had more fun with the power the goosky s2 has and definitely the rebuild after a crash is by far the easiest I have had to repair on any helicopter I’ve had own . Most of them has been all blade helicopters and one 450 Align out of all of them nano, blade 450 450x 130 180 the old version all of them ok repairs , But like I said the goosky is by far my favorite. You guys building theses machines and putting them on You Tube thanks a bunch I have learned a lot and see a change in my repair builds 🤣please keep it up I can tell you love what you do 🤜🏾
Thank you! Yes I do, I absolutely love this hobby and it is my passion and I am very glad and excited to bring this contact to you guys. The RS4 is a bigger version of the S2. With a belt driven tail! I’m glad they went to a belt driven tail on this model and did not try a tail motor. If you love your S2 you will love the RS4!
Thanks for the great video series, I have been building along with your videos and only wiring and radio set up left to do. Did you ever get confirmation on being able to use an SRXL2 in the can bus port Jeff, if not I need to figure out a different option to pair my SPM9745.
you’re welcome! thank you for watching the video series! so I tired using a SRXL2 and it does not work. unfortunately the GTS FBL does not support SRXL2 only DSMX for spektrum. I would recommend finding a Spektrum AR6210 RX on eBay to use for binding.
All three of them are a great comparison mainly because they are all pretty close to the same size. The RS4 is slightly bigger than the 470 and the RAW 420 is slightly bigger than the 470 and RS4.
Any word come back on using an SRXL2 rx with that Goosky ESC? I have a spare 4651T that I would like to use when I get my RS4 build going. I plan on getting the "COMBO" pnp from Helidirect.
Me too! I enjoy building a lot more than flying most of the time! It is just so much fun to sit down and build some thing. Personally I think the price is spot on for what you get! The M4 is a great price as well but remember you’re not getting a FPL unit or battery for that price.
Very nice videos on this helicopter it is nice to see things up close... I didn't know till this video the canopy can be left on to change battery that is such a HUGE plus for me. I hate dealing with canopy's... well i have been trying to decide between this RS4 or the new M4 coming out. but This RS4 keeps having things i like so probably end up with it.. I like how clean you made all of your wires SUPER Plus dude... I hate wires all over the place. I don't normally cut mine but i do heat shrink them and try to get them out of the way and out of site when i can. That heli looks awesome.. Can't wait for the other videos.. I also like how the esc is screwed into the heli itself makes for a clean look.. just wonder what those folks who just want the Kit version will do to mount their escs, maybe it will come with a plate to go in place of the esc? The only reason i wouldn't want to run the stock esc and fbl unit would be so i could run a avian and a 6250HX to get my telemetry back to my IX14 TX. Thanks again Jeff for the videos.
I’m glad you enjoyed the video! Yes, the canopy is left on so you do not have to fool with it while changing batteries. Which is very nice! The quality is great and I think the price is spot on! I’ll cut and shorten all my servo wires on any build to give the cleanest shortest run possible. The ESC screwing into the sides of the frame with the motor plugging directly in is an awesome feature that I really like. If you buy the kit version that does not come with the ESC and FBL unit it does come with a carbon fiber tray that mounts into the original holes that this ESC bolts into annual double sided tape or zip tie whatever ESC you would like. So if you’re running an Evian with a 6250 you can wire that in. I am going to play with a SRXL2 and see if I can get telemetry with the stock set up. I know voltage is there on the S2 and it has a RPM signal wire so there should at least be rpm and battery voltage .
Thanks! I ordered this and it is my first build. I plan to watch your tutorial alongside the manual. Anything I should keep in mind given I've never done a lot before? So appreciated.
You’re welcome! Enjoy the build! It’s a great kit and a great price. If you follow the build videos and manual it will go pretty easy. I would highly recommend a Digital caliper if you don’t have one already. That will give you accurate millimeter readings of the screws and linkages. Get your self some good Loctite. SAB or any 243. I use both, I use Microlube GL261 and it’s great but any synthetic grease will work perfectly.
@@westhobbiesrc8051 THANK YOU! Also, what dimensions are the battery? I was going to purchase PULSE 1800mAh 70C 22.2V 6S LiPo Battery - XT60 Connector but I'm unsure if it'll fit.
You’re welcome! Yes, HRB as well as pulse 6s 1800 MAH packs fit no problem. I’ve already tried both! Any synthetic grease will work great but nothing petroleum-based! Petroleum will eat rubber and O-rings.
@@westhobbiesrc8051 thank you! The manual asks for petroleum lube--are you saying you skipped that in favour of synthetic grease (which the manual also calls for in other places)? Someone suggested SAB LDS Grease to me in place of the petroleum lube, is that recommendation correct?
The battery plug at the ESC is a XT60. I have personally never seen a XT60 wear out, some of my models have 500+ flights on the XT60 and are still going strong. I’m not worried about that.
I see a very interesting way using this kind of extra large motor to direct drive because of torque required to make it turn on. I have been flying for a decade and a long time ago I kind imagine something like that. The use of a big gear is a way of lowering the efficiency of the flight. I wait that this can make the flight a bit longer. Thank you very much for the video. Waiting for the maiden flight. You can check my channel that I have a Trex 550 with a satellite receiver for my Dx8.

I'm glad I bought the Raw 420.... wires are easy to manage. Haha.... Good content though!
The wiring is actually simpler on this morning than the 420. At least for me, I cut and shorten all my wires regardless of the helicopter. Thank you!

Hello there
Are you going to make a build video for rs5 soon?
