    Another terrific day of wrenching on the GOOSKY S4. I'm waiting to see if the Wire lengths are Perfect or need a little shortening, Jeff. We'll Done my friend, get the shrink tubing ready and see you tomorrow. Best to You, your Mrs. and your little Angel and to Dad, Grandma, and Grandpa! Enjoy your Sunday.

    Hi Jeff, when I built mine the T/R pulley came with 2 shims. I ended up using 1 shim to remove the slop between the bearings and the pulley. Did u end up using the shims as well? Was not mentioned in the build part 2.

    Anther great video, and my RS4 is almost done. The speed controller that came in my kit is different then the one in your kit 5(60amp Hobby Wing and Goosky branded). It has battery and motor lead wires with plugs and what i believe might be a blue tooth modal but the manual doesn't say anything about it.
    Time for part 3!

      That can definitely help, I know on my RAW 580 I have two different color frame stickers and I can see it really good in flight but that’s the only heli I have that on.

    I like the "loctite" reminders :) On another note, do you pre center the servos before installing the arms? (with loctite)

    • @westhobbiesrc8051
      @westhobbiesrc8051  Год назад +1

      I like to remind everyone to use Loctite lol that way somebody can’t say I followed your videos and it came apart but they didn’t use Loctite. No, I just put the servo horn on what I felt was center and hopefully it’s right. If not I’ll pull them and recenter.

    Hi Jeff, in the bag with the tail pulley there are two washers of about 6 (inner diameter)x8 (outer diameter)x0.2. Do you received this? I don't know where to use this.

    • @westhobbiesrc8051
      @westhobbiesrc8051  Год назад +1

      Hello! Yes I did, those are for shimmering if need be. My kit did not need shimming (of the tail shaft)

  • @spearshaker7974

    I started working on my helis again they need some tlc from sitting for such a long time the one I thought May of been a hirobo is actually a m.a. xcell 60 has the rotating servo in the center thinking that’s gonna be the one I start with first less aggressive then the raptor 90. I’m just cleaning them up now gonna test the electronics if I can get the batteries charged up and working may have to get some new batteries just to be safe tho.

    • @westhobbiesrc8051
      @westhobbiesrc8051  Год назад +1

      I would 110% replace those batteries with new ones! Do not trust them especially if they are NiCad or nickel metal hydride! I actually had a Lipo failure today resulting in a crash from a receiver pack going dead in flight. Video will be out soon! It is not a good feeling when you lost all power to your model especially with a Nitro. I’ve got a Xcell fury 90 I’m going to restore on the channel soon!

    Hi Jeff, I am again. In page 20 (step 14) of the manual, I see a picture showing that the distance between the 2 holes of the servo arm (of the tail servo) must be 15mm. I got confusing because in the time 6m:06s of your video you said 9.5 mm. Could you confirm this please?

    • @westhobbiesrc8051
      @westhobbiesrc8051  Год назад +1

      So, there was a update. When I built this one (filmed this series) it was 9.5mm but since have found going to 13-15mm is better for tail performance and tail hold. So I would go 13-15mm.

    Hello Jeff,
    I have the Goosky S2 and love it. I am still learning my orientations but I need something bigger because my eighty year old aging eyes have difficulty seeing this little bird if it gets too far away. I am on the fence for the SAB 420, Goosky RS4 and the OMP M4 when it makes it debut. Are you at all concerned about the fact that the tail grips do not have thrust bearing in them and there is a lot of plastic in that area unlike the SAB 420. Love all your videos and I watch everyone of them. You are a terrific asset to the Heli community (and to me also lol). 🧙‍♂

    • @westhobbiesrc8051
      @westhobbiesrc8051  Год назад

      Thank you very much Fish appoint I am so glad the bills are helpful and you enjoy them! I am not worried about plastic and there being no rush bearings in the tail grips. It is definitely a little weird lol but not worried, there has been multiple helicopter brands that don’t use thrust bearing in the tail grips. Know if this is going to be your first helicopter build I think either one of those three options are great. The RAW 420 is a faster build for sure but you can’t beat the price of this Goosky! It’s really a awesome price for what you get!

  • @corykelson

    Another great video, Jeff! Looks like the rs4 is going to be great. Although I'd prefer to throw torq servos (obviously can't do any other servo than goosky with that design) and ikon2 on it, it's really hard not to go with the pnp at that low price! That tail boom definitely needs a yellow wrap! Having their web address on the boom just seems tacky to me.

    • @westhobbiesrc8051
      @westhobbiesrc8051  Год назад +1

      I’m with you! Definitely needs a iKon 2 but the stock FBL unit is very nice and fully adjustable! Witch is nice as well. Definitely gotta wrap the boom, I’ll be wrapping mine soon with a surprise! Stay tuned! It won’t say GOOSKY.COM but will say something .com! 😀

    • @westhobbiesrc8051
      @westhobbiesrc8051  Год назад

      It is a pretty straightforward build! The raw 420 definitely builds faster and has a better wiring layout. but it’s a great Heli for the price!

    Great Vid 👍🏻 Question Main rotor clock wise Tail anti clock wise, Is it best to have tail anti clock wise?

    • @westhobbiesrc8051
      @westhobbiesrc8051  Год назад +1

      Thank you! Yes the main rotor always spins clockwise and the tail counterclockwise. The reasoning for the tail spinning counterclockwise is to get the air movement away from the main rotor wash. It depends on the direction of your main road or if your main rotor spins counterclockwise then your tail rotor will spin clockwise.
