Your husband is always super excited to try your food haha
Yes, he is 😁 haha
Thank you so much for watching it!!
Another lovely video!
I always like to sautee Brussels sprouts in a pan with some olive oil, pancetta or sliced bacon, and some balsamic vinegar! So delicious.
I’m from a midsized city in the US and most of the Japanese restaurants here are either sushi, ramen, or hibachi. However my favorite restaurant is a Japanese izakaya style restaurant and it’s the only place that I’ve seen Japanese sausages on the menu, so delicious! I can’t find them in grocery stores either.
This is the first time I have ever seen fish sausages, I’d like to try some day.
Thank you so much!!
Your Brussels sprouts dishes sounds so yummy!! I wanna try that :D
That's so cool you have tried the Japanese sausages. I wish you guys could get those at grocery stores too...
Fish sausage is my favorite snack haha! It's a taste I've been familiar with since I was a child. I hope one day you will try it too! 😆
So many good ideas in these recipes, thank you! I love Brussels sprouts, but I’m the only one who does in my family. I’m definitely making the bacon wrapped version you made soon.
I like the very simple dish of sautéed Brussels sprouts. Either separate all the leaves or shred them if you are pressed for time. Then sauté some finely diced onion and sliced garlic until aromatic, then add the leaves. Let them cook until they get a bit of color, then add mirin and any spices you like. Mustard seeds are good, but I usually just use salt and lots of cracked pepper. Cook until leaves are tender but still have a bit of crunch - or however you prefer. If you have any, crumbled bacon and toasted walnuts add a lot of flavor. If this sounds good to you, please give it a try.
Wow! Sounds really nice! I will definitely try your recipe when Brussels sprouts are available at store this year 😊
Thank you so much for telling me your wonderful recipe!

(๑ŐдŐ)b☆やったー!
You have such healthy breakfasts! I am trying to learn how have Japanese breakfasts, which don't have sugar in them. I don't like Brussel sport at all!! I would use Napa or onions to substitute.
Thank you for watching as always!!
Oh, you don't like that...😂 Yes, these substitute must be nice 😊👍
Awesome. I had rice and curry for breakfast this morning
Thank you!
Oh! You had curry :D Sounds soooo nice!!
@@JapaneseCookingChannel it was. There was still some clump of the curry squares in it so next time I actually cut them then put them in
That's good idea!
@@JapaneseCookingChannel thank you
Husband is like 'I dont even need to cook the sausage?! I can make a whole meal without cooking! Excellent!' haha ! but yes, most 'cured' meats, like pepperoni, can be eaten uncooked. :D
Yes, that's the easiest cooking haha!
I wanna eat pepperoni here in Japan too... :D
Corn dogs are ok it depends on the brand for store bought, carnival ones are really good for the most part. No we don't have fish sausage in the US at least not commonly available. I love that y'all call them American dogs over there that makes me laugh 😆 could you do an episode with Taiyaki I would love to see how thats made ive been thinking on investing in my own taiyaki pan but I don't know how to make them or even what to do for fillings, also how to cook tofu cuz I always manage to make it inedible....
Yea! I thought it must be an interesting name for people overseas 😂 I was so surprised when I noticed that American dogs are called corn dogs in the US. haha
I wanna try the carnival ones someday!! 😆
Oh, you like taiyaki!? I love it! It has sweet bean paste in it. I think I should get the pan for it. And, tofu is always in my fridge, and I wanna share some tofu recipes in the future video!
Thank you for your request 😊💕
I _think_ that what you called a green onion and put in the miso soup is more commonly called a leek in English, at least that's what it looks like to me.
Husbands can have a little sausage, as a treat
Yes!! 😁 lol
Your husband always makes me laugh when he comes in to steal bites! The little sausages look a lot like tiny polish sausage which we eat cold with crackers and cheese as well as sear in a pan for other dishes.
haha! I'm so happy you enjoyed the part 😁
Ah, It looks like it! I've never heard of polish sausage, but wanna try the taste some day 😆
Very nice! Must try the brussels sprouts with bacon like you make them. We have lots of them here in Romania towards the end of the summer. I miss mentaiko in Japan, tried other roe, but it is not the same thing. When living in Japan I liked a lot how people live and eat with the seasons. It should be an obvious thing to do. Here in Europe many people expect ALL products to be available all year around. Tomatoes in Scandinavia in January?? Yes, very expensive and grown in greenhouses in Holland with absolutely no taste... Or stuff flown in from Africa or South America, picked green, matures on the plane, no good. And bad for the climate with these transports. Is it season now for fiddlehead fern, warabi, and other wild forest plants? Fresh it is great as tempura, but the season is vey short. For the onigiri, I am sorry to say that there are only 2 things I can not eat in Japan. One is ume, sour plum. The other is mochi, it just grows in my mouth. But I am not a fan of sweet stuff. Otherwise i eat everything else. Looking forward to more vids. Arigato!
Yea! Brussels sprouts with meat is really tasty. Hope you could try it some time :)
Ah, you don't like umeboshi and mochi! I understand that. I am glad to hear that you can enjoy Japanese food other than those ingredients.
I hope to continue to share recipes that will add a few ideas to your cooking!
@@JapaneseCookingChannel I love all other Japanese food except the ume and sweet mochi. In addition to the fiddlehead fern/warabi and other forest plants I guess you can also get ramsons/bear´s garlic/ラムソン now? It is delicious, salad, soup and in other dishes. Here in Romania it is popular, but the season is short. If you go out to pick it yourself, be careful not to pick Lily of the valley, very same looking, but deadly poisinous!
Oh, you tried warabi too! That's rare to eat here but I think people in country side love to pick them in the forest. And, I've never heard of ramsons... If I have a chance, I would like to go out and look for wild vegetables and look for that too.
@@JapaneseCookingChannel I really recommend ramsons, ラムソン, it is delicious, the leaves have mild garlic taste. We get them here soon in Romania, but only for about a month´s time. Really good in a soup with potatoes and cream or in a salad and why not on a sandwich with tomato and tofu. People in the countryside pick them and I can buy them in my local shop or at the market, 40 yen for a nice bunch.
