That steel driver holds bowls and jars off the bottom besides working for steaming veggies. I have had my instant pot for two weeks and hardly use my cook top anymore.

Was wondering when you would take the plunge to Instant Pot! lol Nice videos thanks.

Hah, yeah I took the plunge, after three years of posting videos I decided I should see what the hype is all about. I'm glad you're enjoying the videos, feel free to ask if you want to see any. I've got 2 of my favorites at the end (Red Lentil curry and Mongolian Beef), and I'm always looking for new ideas to try.

Hey, Matt! I am in the market for a pressure cooker and have been taking a hard look at 3 different models - downloaded their instruction manuals and found out as much as I could - because everyone keeps saying how good the Instant Pot is - and it is just about the most expensive one (of the normal cookers). I just have one question for you...Do you find that the Instant Pot browns meat better or faster than your other cooker? It says that the browning temperature will go up to 410F. The Cosori, on the other hand, will go up to 320 F, and the Crock Pot Express has no temperature rating, but people in videos say that the browning could be better and that the final product needs more "taste". Do you know how hot your other cooker gets in the saute/browning mode? Do you have problems browning chicken or beef roasts? Thanks for your attention!! Rob in Los Angeles

I have a Salton from Costco, it was also sold as a Big Boss by Walmart, and I really like it as it vents a bit faster. I think they have similar heater elements and I wouldn't say they are categorically better. The stainless steel is nice and easy to clean, but I find the nonstick in my other cookers sticks less and burns a bit less. I only lightly brown, which is not enough according to some (can't please anyone) but I haven't had trouble. If price is important, just buy the cheaper one.

No problem. To be completely honest I first got a pressure cooker since it was on clearance and I was just hoping for a rice cooker, and the pressure cooker was very competitively priced, and clearly higher quality. Just as a rice cooker I feel it paid for itself as it lasted a few years. I have friends who love their pressure cookers and use them all the time, and others who don't. Buying a cheap one and seeing if you like it is pretty low risk, spending $200+ on some "gimmick" seems a bit excessive. I find the electric pressure cookers are convenient because they're set and forget. I wouldn't buy a stovetop, because you have to watch them.
