The 69 - 70 Ford LTDs are Fords best love that personal style cockpit for the Driver it says the Driver is important and as the Driver this is your exclusive space you are in controll
I had a 1969 LTD two door totally blacked out with a vinyl top and it had the 429 in it what An effing machine she was!, She had factory 3-in exhaust the modular iron 9-in with a big BV axles C6 automatic and heavy duty suspension all the way around I tell you with that car they can build three cars today out of that one car, she was my all time favorite, my mother gave me that car she paid the 750 dollars for it and she gave it to me when she bought a 1980 Buick regal. I translates that car in the street I lost once. Boy that's really good old days 💥🔥🤘
i had a 69 LTD, fully loaded with a 429. long story short. i got into a drag race on my wedding day on my way to the wedding. the engine blew up in the process. needless to say i was late and everybody thought i beat feet out of town. but no the guy i raced was pretty cool he turned around and gave me a lift 20 miles across town to the church.a week after the honeymoon i tore into the engine and did a full on rebuild. of course i was only 18 ( yes i married young, but this is the short version).so i enlisted the help of an old gear head. here i am 40 years later still working on cars and have done 3 restorations 2 cars and a motorcycle. that old LTD was one of my favorite cars i had ever owned. i was hoping to see the fender badge denoting engine size in the video as that was probably my favorite thing on the car, but i don't guess it was thought of. thanks for the walk around.
It sure is a beautiful car. I think that the late '60s are early '70s cars were nicer than today's. I was lucky enough to have had a white '69 Ford XL convertible back in the day. Good memories !
We lost our 2nd 70 LTD wagon to a girl going the other way, trying to figure out how to change the radio station, partially broadsiding, then side swiping our car, totaling it. I saved the am-fm radio figuring on getting another. I ended up getting a 1979 Lincoln town car. Still have the radio.
Nice I had a 69xl convertible but 390 auto Now I have a 69 galaxie 500 sportsroof w/ 390 auto I used to own a 69 marquis convertible 429 auto All in my. Channel Nice car.
This car is stunning...Out of interest what kind of money are we looking at for this in the US? Here in London they would ask silly money; would be cheaper to fly over and buy one even taking account of shipping/import fees etc.!
@@jobamasux Never came across an old car where the clock worked . The mechanical movement is just like a wrist watch. Has to be dissasemled and lubricated, and it never happens.
Great 69 Ford XL. 4 speed is unexpected bonus. Great wheel choice fantastic paint. Congratulations to the new owner.
Very nice but requires an OEM steering wheel.

I own a '70 LTD and couldn't agree more with you! Sadly these years are kinda lost in history
72 ltd was my fav.

Loved the dashboards. Driver focused.

This is a very nice rare car not often seen.

429 all the way!!
Owned a '68 & '70 XL. Reliable, good-looking highway cars.
The cockpit dashboard is a work of art
Nice car but that steering wheel just takes away so much from what it could be. Whoever has it should get the oem style back in it.
Factory AM/FM always a nice touch
I'm just discovering these land yachts again, I love this car
Love that Notch Back window, Reminds me of the 72' Mustang i had with Disc Brakes. and i see the car also has Disc Brakes
Great classy car!
4sp two door painted hard top. Love it!
4 speed manual with a 429
Nice car James. My father use to owen a 1969 LTD with 302-2v cu in. when I was a kid. We took a couple road trips, it was great car.
Did Ford really put 302s in LTDs?
@@MisterMikeTexas Yes they did and they still had some get and go for 302cu in.
@@MisterMikeTexas It was just base 4dr model no power options except power steering and power brakes no air conditioning.
I have a red 2door black vinyl top. 429 4bbl, 4spd, 3.25 locker 1 of one. Love this car. It’s a looker.

bummer just got my loan approved for this classic...good luck and enjoy to who owns this car now.
My first car, Blue with White top loved that car.
I am inheriting my uncles 69 Galaxy xl blue with a white top
wow so nice i was 15 when i seen one like this with the 4 spd ,,ford had nice cars so did gm and mopar
that beast is beautiful
XL became its own brand in 1967. 62-66 it was the Galaxy 500 XL.
Would have been nice to seem more of the outside of the car. Looks like its must be a nice car though, certainly looks pretty sleek in black. 😍
Omg, it gorgeous!!!!
Nice XL 😊
Absolutely Stunning! 👍🏻😎😍
BEAUTIFUL XL!!!!!
Nice

Coolest front end.
Sweet dam missed that one
Super.super, car.
I have a 70 ltd 4 doors
With a 302 i love it.
Thanks.
Beautiful car thanks for sharing
Привет из России хорошее видео!
I love 69 Galaxie's. I'm trying to find one to buy. Great walk around

$25,000 USD would get you a nice one
My grandma had a red one with white interior two door three speed automatic.
Wow...I can't imagine driving a classic car that big...with manual transmission.
Nice !👍
I had the same car, but in light green. I sold it in 1978 for 500 bucks sad.
my first car
I'll take six of them.
Never knew they put 4 speed in a XL ! But how much did it sell for ???
429 XL with 4 speed and the clock dont work OMG, lol
That 429 is a high-compression engine and would need high-test fuel. At today's prices, driving it a lot, will put you in the poor-house.
@@jeromebreeding3302 I am just laughing about the broken clock! The 429 I remember very well!
@@jobamasux Never came across an old car where the clock worked . The mechanical movement is just like a wrist watch. Has to be dissasemled and lubricated, and it never happens.
So I'm assuming that XL has been sold already?
What's it do in the quarter? My 66 XL ran 13.79 with a warmed over 390
NIIIICE!
I would appreciate it if you could let me know who you sold this car to I been looking for one for a while. Samuel Bentley.
Would you mind telling us what kind of engine is in it?
Is the 4 speed original?
ford is american or european
What did it sell for?
4-wheel drum brakes
What size motor is that? 429?
Bo from my research they only came with 390 and 428 engines
My Dad owned one his came with a 429 great car !
@@lionsdwg what Year was dad's XL? 1970,in 68 they came 390 and 428
@@mikewardhvacrestoration7136 1970
@@lionsdwg I think the XL was very underated, it's like Ford's answer to Pontiacs Grand Prix.
I prefer mine with Cruiseomatic!
Still for sale?
Sold about 6 months ago to a Gentleman in Indiana
Change wheels out, put some cragers on!!!
No test drive ❓ Oh well…..🙄
The only car besides to 70 with hidden head lamps and a poke through nose
What’s wrong with 1970?
@@mikeitalian 70xl is my fav
69 didn't come with a 4spd. 68 xl was the last year
1970 was the last year for the XL.
No you are wrong. 1969 was the last year for the 4 speed, they dropped it for the '70 model year
I have a 69 xl 429/4bbl wide ratio 4 spd factory built car.
That year was automatic transmission only.
I had to give the video a thumbs down for no engine description
