This Ford XL is one of the best sounding muscle cars I’ve heard, which is odd because for the most part they all sound pretty good, thank you for showing this beast off
I am a Mopar guy but how could you not love a 69 Ford xl just a beauty😁
Countin em off, this is my Era, big cubic inches, big cams, big carbs, ALL MOTOR!!!! Both the Ford and Mopar are badass. I'm a Pontiac freak, and I appreciate these machines. Reminds me of weekend cruising from the late 70s early 80s. NICE. 👍👍🏁🏁
Parents had a 1972 xl with the 390. I would drive when they where gone and do a single tire burnout for about 30 feet. I was maybe 14 or 15. Cool car.
1970 was the last year of the XL...cool cars. My 71 LTD 2 door got the last 390 built 12/70. After that it was 400. 351 std and 429 option. I put a 3.50 gear in mine and a '68 carb, distributor and tune and surprised and embarrassed a lot of smog motor Camaros!
Ya just gotta show off from the passenger side. Lol.
Lol...dude I did the same thing with my dads 71 merc grand marquis. It had a 429 in it and would fricken fly. They would leave, I'd grab the keys
AB the one wheeler peeler.
The sound of freedom! Holy shit that 545 stroker sounded nice!
Every time this car lays rubber, a bald eagle is born.
Now, there's something you don't see all the time!
Seen a nice 69 mercury cyclone yesterday got to love the old big body Ford's. That xl is a good looking car.
I haven’t seen one of those in a very long time I owned a 68 Torino GT Fastback back in the day.
Never knew about this model, big ford fan, owned taunus gxl mk1, this one reminds me of it...
Damn, this dude and his ride are about to be in the next Driver game!! This Ford XL is so imposing with it's vibrant blue paint, the black stripe and the hideaway lights. Love that fastback like roofline too. And those paint imperfections make the car imo. Clearly not a garage queen, but a street warrior. That sound though...this badass car commands respect just by idling. And then...the chase happens :P Pedal to the metal, lay that rubber down!! Squealin' tires, screamin' pedestrians and a funky soundtrack, just another day in Finland, hehe.
These cars might be half a century old, but one thing is for sure - Classic American V8, I wouldn't have it any other way. There's no school like OLDSCHOOL.
Greetings from the Czech Republic. I got a '72 Dodge Demon 340 and it's a very underrated and unknown car as well. Bright red, all the demonic stripes, twinscoop hood snorkel and Cooper Cobra Radial G/T tires. Such a joy to drive. Before I even open the garage I always get weak in the knees, my pulse goes quicker and I get goosebumps...
These old, classic muscle cars, pony cars and other such rides are irreplaceable. No matter what modern cars offer, I will always love these oldschool legends :)
Great comment buddy! Thanks for checking out the vid. You got a nice ride there too, the Demon! There’s a few videos on my channel with a Blown ’71 Demon burning rubber 🚗💨😁👍👍
@@Jamboolio Thank you, I think it's only fitting to leave a nice comment, when you enjoy someones video.
Yeah I know that Demon. It's a true Hellbeast 👹 I know your channel for a month or so and I just had to give you a sub, because it would be unfair not to. Record that Demon again, when you see it and all the other cars too. I am glad, that you make clean videos without any bullshit in it.
Being born behind the Iron Curtain as an '80s kid I always watched pirated VHS tapes with american movies and wishing to see the cars in them live, because they looked and sounded that much better than everything else in Czechoslovakia and now all these decades later I am still fascinated as ever by these rides. I remember how I also saw the videoclip "Gimme all your lovin' " from ZZ Top back in the '80s and how I promised myself "When I grow up, I'll buy an old american car and I'll get the ZZ Top keychain to hang it on the car keys."
So now I have the ZZ Top keychain on my Demon car keys :) This might be a little boy's silly dream for many, but it means the world to me.
It's especially cool, when the sun rays make it flash like in the videoclip.
Also thank you for the content, because it takes us to times we weren't around for. I love that these days it's not just Americans, but finally also us Euros being able to enjoy these classics.
Some vehicles have zero emissions and others have a soul...I know which one I'll keep drivin' and cruisin' in...😉
😊🙏🙏
@@JamboolioHow did you get to 545 cubic inches? It doesn't say did you use a Lincoln 460?
You've got V8, huge V8 and stroker V8.... just awesome !
This is what cars should sound like!
Yep !
Seems there's a never ending viewing of rare strange unique awesome muscle cars I've never heard of before.
For a real mind f**k, look into Australian muscle cars.
Ford power 👍🏻
Loved seeing it smoke out that chevelle, haha !!
What I love beside a ford is that it's a drivers car
First time I got to see this beauty, superloved it...thank you very much For bringing this beauty forth! Keep up the spirit!
Cool car my mom's boyfriend had a convertible one when I was a kid
Another great video from another great car!
Definitly earthshaker. 9.0 liter;holy shit!
Another awesome video Jamboolio,I've never heard of a Ford XL b4, thanks 4 showing this awesome sounding beast of a muscle car 🤘🤘🤘🤘👍👍👍👍👍😎😎😎😎😎😎💯💯💯💯💯💯
Thanks so much Trevor! Yeah it sure is a pretty rare beast. Oh and the pleasure is all mine! 😁👍👍
My First car was a 69 XL convertible with a 429 Thunderjet💓
I'm usually not a fan of painted bumpers that were chrome, but looks okay here.
Would like to see it with fresh rechromed bumpers.
Great video! Love the sound!
Imagine the tuning potential of this enormous ford V8
Facts! Check out more of this V8 monster here: ruclips.net/video/NCVKQf-bPg8/видео.html 💪
Love this body style
Awesome Ford XL.... everything about this car is awesome 👏👍😎
V8 is the best sound for the World.
I'm from deepest,, darkest,, Arkansas,, I can't remember seeing one of these until was the STL 20yrs ago
Little Car - tiny engine - small tires...... GRETA...... NO !!! LIKE and Thank You bro` !!!!!!
😂😂😂
Great to see an out of the ordinary car muscled out! A little body work here and there and WOW! Thanks'....
Awesome , I grew up in the 50s 60s but I do not remember that particular Ford design , nice looking car Though I would own it , Thanks Jamboolio
Thats why the 69/70 Ford full size are called orphan, no one knows them! Believe me I have a '70 LTD, which only a handfull of people seem to know
That's what I'm talking about! No explanation, just smoke and sound!
Man, I wish there were WAAAY more awesome rides like this out there. You were very lucky to have been in the presence of a BAADD ACE RIDE. I'M JEALOUS. 🤔😂🤣💪👊
Ford looks like it's on the prowl looking to start trouble
My first car was1969 LTD 2 door
Blue w white vinyl top 390!!😁
A Beast
Now this is what Burt Renolds should have been driving in "White Lighting" !!!
Freaking AWESOME!!!! Land yacht that roasts both rear tire at will. Love the placement of the "Fuzzy Dice" 👍👍
Yeeah buddy, thanks! Check out another vid of this same Muscle Car Beast I made: ruclips.net/video/NCVKQf-bPg8/видео.html
Ford power !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love the Charger R/T
Beautiful 1969 XL,you don't see many of them.
Jeez... What a beast this LTD (or is it a Galaxie 500 XL) is, I'm a MOPAR fan from my youngest days and that Charger is sweet but I'd buy that Ford tomorrow.
By 1969/70 just XL. No Galaxie or LTD as they were now seperate named models. This one has many hop-up mods made to the engine, trans and differential. I would prefer to see chromed bumpers though.
Damn, I can smell the high test fuel....incredible rides!
Nice i remember me and 5 siblings in dads 69 xl we all had fun in a 2 door lol
What an animal !!!
Fantastic machine .Love it mate.👍👍👍🇬🇧
When dyno-saurs ruled the planet !!
Kind of a rare car but quite the tire shredder.
Yes sir, this beast sure meets those criteria! Thanks buddy! 😁👍👍
EVs will never be as cool!
"Hyvää kesää hybridimiehille" :D
😂😂😂
ooooouukeeey i like it
That car is beautiful... bet my lawn mower would smoke it lol
Not bad from a ford
My friends old car!🥳
The Beast! I have a 1969 Ford LTD but not an XL still it has a lot of torque! I'm selling it if there's any takers?
Muito bonito esse ford
Smoke 'em if you got 'em👍
Hell yeah
Jam once's a week,burn
🚗💨🚗💨🚗💨😁👍👍
❤
Fkkin sweet@@!! I had one of these with a 460 in her. Highway Star!
Nice car
I had a 67' Galaxy 500 with a 390ci two door yellow with black interior. Never really consider it a muscle car but at 500 ci i guess that perspective goes out the window
Last time I saw my Dad’s 1969 XL was in Frankfurt at Rhein Main airbase 1980. Makes me wonder if this could be it, does not look like Germany but somewhere in Europe. How many of these could be in Europe?
Was that a turbo g wagon 😭
I like it!!! 🏁
BIG BLOCK..!!!! 🤟🏼
Pure V8 rrrock n roll right! 😁🤟
@@Jamboolio nothing quite like it…
mmmm 9 delicious litres
American Muscle
Call me stupid, but this kinda looks like it would be a competitor to a Dodge Charger at the time, looks a bit similar but that could just be me
It was a fullsize car, bigger than a charger, more in competiton with Polaras or Impalas. It was based on the same year Galaxie and had the hidden headlight, and was only available as convertible ore sportsroof. Biggest V8 was 429 with 360 hp
@@goldenltd1970 thank you for the information sounds like a badass vehicle
@@fadedsoul23 you're welcome mate! I'm always glad when people are interested in cars that are not mainstream like Chargers, Chevelles and Mustangs etc.
And I own a 1970 Ford LTD hardtop which is like a brother to this car as 69 and 70 had the same body. But I didn't know about them too before I saw mine for the first time
@@goldenltd1970 I don’t think I’ve ever seen an LTD I’d be interested to see
@@fadedsoul23 ruclips.net/video/Ua4bTt_MvRw/видео.html
Here is a nice one, 429 engine, some nice aftermarket wheels. You can see the for 1970 updated front and the hardtop roofline which is different to the sportsroof.
Hello, what exhaust and muffler are you running on this car?
И машинка красивая и объём моторчика класс. молодцы.
It is so great that some of the Europeans celebrate American cars
Yes sir, there’s an insane American Car Culture in Finland, check out more on the channel! 😁👍👍
Lay it son.
Just Needs a Bit Doing Up .Re Bodywork

I have one of these
Burn..❤
Yeeeah broheem, all day every day! 😁👍👍
And how much horsepower?
I had a 69 XL, no where near as great shape, mine had a regular top, 429 cj, c6 auto
environmental tax liked this video
this isn't an f.e. block is it. that's a lotta cubes
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
🇧🇷
😁👍👍
There is no replacement for displacement!
Thats pure V8 porno. I love it.
Somebody should put that engine in a Tesla car.
I have a 1970 Xl 390 Fe
I like it, but can you actually go fast with this? I mean like driving 200+ km/h on the highway, or set a decent laptime around a track?
Thanks, but the video is from Finland, so km/h. And with driving on the highway at high speed, for instance the german Autobahn, there are some corners yes. It seems quite scary to me.
Hey, it's over 50 years old car. These full size cars were originally built for comfortable ride with luxury, and good looks, not for racing tracks. In 1969 American Ford did take part in Trans Am series with much smaller Mustang, and Nascar with middle size Ford Torino. While you can upgrade the suspension of these big Galaxie/XLs, realistically they are not ideal for circuit tracks, they are BIG and heavy. Please don't bother comparing to modern cars.
This 1969 XL is a beauty, and a beast, that engine is built to roast the rear tires when ever the driver pleases.
Allright, fair enough. And I agree it's a beautifull car, but if you can't use the power, it's pretty much pointless.
@@stefanschulte1 this is why I keep my small block, its more than enough power for the Autobahn and an exelent cruiser on the Landstraßen. Such engines are mostly for show but you can upgrade this cars suspension for decent cornering
Unica cosa interessante del video la Mercedes classe G al minuto 3:03
Sorry for that crinkle on the front psgr side.
Can you say stage 3 cammed!
Baking soda in the waffle iron.
Sweden?
Filmed in Finland! 🇫🇮 American Muscle Car scene over here is insane, check out more on the channel! 😁👍👍
My ears... But it was worth it.
550 is 9 liter,545 is almost 8.9 liter
how evere I think 69 is model year for LTD or galaxy 500
69 The pinnacle of muscle. 💪
500 dollar car all day everyday
@Master chief Master chief I'm not offering to buy it or suggesting for you to sell it.
I recognize this countries immediately I see the environment. Only sweden and finland. finland is a copy of sweden but sweden has changed and now probably finland is better.
