My dad bought one at a car dealership when I was a kid. Him and his friend was drinking a lot of beers and come home with this. He signed a papers with the dealership and couldn't back out of it. My mom went with him but they couldn't get out of the contract. We drove all the way to westconsin in it to visit my big sister. I rode in the back seat with a battery operated TV while my mom and her pet chihuahua rode in front with the dog hanging out the window barking when we passed someone. lmao.
In late 1965, I bought one of these brand new. It was bright red, with a white vinyl top and red vinyl interior. Super nice back then. Ride was smooth and silky, and quiet. Had the 352c.i. engine 4bbl carb. Some good power, but certainly not in the class of muscle cars from that era.
Fun fact! Ford Dealership salesmen from the 60s will tell you how hard it was to find these cars in the dealership because they couldn’t keep them! They sold like crazy In 65’
Funny the way he talks like it's amazing a mint 65 Ford drives so perfect, a car like this should shake like crazy and blow up lol. I had a 66 for 18 years and had AC with a 390 (sold in 2014) and purred like a kitten at 80ph with the air on down the freeway like my 07 Impala does. It's the rear gearing that does it. When I put a 4:11 in and warmed the motor over to almost 400 hp (and should've done a AOD with the C6) 13.70s street driver that wasn't 80 mph friendly anymore, with a AOD it would've been. These cars stock drive perfectly
I know this is an old video, but this was a great find for this car. If it was a survivor car , how many miles did it have on it? Because it was a green 352 Galaxie and not an XL with a 390, how much was this car sold for?
I like 60s Ford Galaxies very much but the prices these classic car dealerships are asking for them is absolutely insane. They are not worth 30 or 35k. The best one on the planet is not worth more than 20 to 25k at best. I recently ran across a 63 Galaxie that was a museum car in absolute mint condition with only 8k original miles. It sold for 22k and it was the best one around. The only exception is of course the factory 427 V8 four speed. Many of these dealerships have lost their minds with greed.
He doesn't know that the first of the two Drive positions on the gear shift below Neutral starts in second gear. The green dot position starts in first.
Yes, you were going about 60 in a 35 mph zone, not what you want prospective customers to see... They'd rather see you accelerating on the turnpike. I'm glad the car was sold-- And hopefully to someone who would drive it the appropriate speeds for the kind of roadways it was being driven on!! Believe me, the car didn't make it this far in history by being driven in that manner.
MY FIRST CAR WAS 1965 FORD CUSTOM, NO POWER BRAKES, NO POWER STEERING, ONLY AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISION, AND AN AM RADIO. i DIDN'T KNOW FORD HAD A 352, I ALWAYS THOUGHT IT WAS A 351.

Very interesting video because this looks like my car. Every inch of it is identical.
1965 is my second favorite car year (after '64; I was born in '64).

67's are the best looking of this generation.

probably 15k, I had a 66 XL 390, heritage burgundy, Cragars 375 hp, 4:11 gears was pretty quick

My dad had one very much like this one but the roof was white.
I like the 63 1/2 and 64 models better, but this is nice.
If only this fine American vehicle had manual shift. Factory AM/FM would be great as well.
How much did it sell for.?
Like the 65 with 427 Code R with the Automatic
Better in California than in the Great Lakes region!

The 351 didn't come until 1969. That was the Windsor; the Cleveland 351 came out a year later.
