    Love the “ fastback” look, I think it’s amazing how simple the older cars were, but there’s no way I would give up electronic ignition, fuel injection, safe braking systems, airbags, etc. that is until I go to the drag strip. P.s. I have been working as a mechanic since 1982, so I have slowly come to appreciate all the technology that many people hate.

      Yes your absolutely right. I always find it fascinating how simple these era cars are, but modern era back then.

    Cory, thanks for sharing thiis AWSOME car. My father in law passed last Thanksgiving he had a passion for old ford galaxies. With that said my wife and i ended up with his 1965 galaxie. its a 2 door ltd with a 390. Needs some work but its really a cool car like you said, I really like the way your father went with his. Gives me tons of ideas. do you know what the back spacing is on the rims?

    What size are the rims? I ran a15×7 w/ the same size tire. The tire had a slight bow which caused the tire to wear in the middle more than the ends.

    • @CorysCarReview

      They are 15x8 all around with 275 60's all around. The fronts slightly rub on the upper ball joints, but not bad

    • @CorysCarReview
      @CorysCarReview  3 года назад

      He was gonna try a 15x10 on the rear, but it pushed the sidewall out enough it wouldn't clear even if you rolled the fender

    • @jacobappelhans6983
      @jacobappelhans6983 10 месяцев назад +1

      Do you know the backspacing, I am going for something similar on my own 65 galaxie. Also was there any fender mods or suspension adjustments?

    • @CorysCarReview
      @CorysCarReview  10 месяцев назад

      @jacobappelhans6983 I’ll double check on the backspacing, but I believe it’s factory. He put station wagon springs under the back to raise it up, and an adjustable torsion bar to pull the body over. It had been hit on the driver side at some point and the body wasn’t on straight

    • @jacobappelhans6983

      @@CorysCarReviewthanks for the quick response. Surprised there wasn't too many issues in the front. That backspacing number would be a huge help to get it right the first time👍
