Maxine was a delightful person. I had dinner with her and her husband, Cy Gomberg, in Beverly Hills in the mid-90's. She also played the bank teller in Whatever Happened to Baby Jane, and a nurse in Autumn Leaves with Joan Crawford. She contributed a lot to the Hollywood Community and lived in a beautiful Cliff May designed home in Brentwood. She always referred to Whatever Happened to Baby Jane as simply, "Jane." Bette Davis did the same.
Fans of Ralph Meeker: Be sure to watch the "actor Ralph Meeker - A Tribute" by TheScreamingmimis. The musical choice (Viva la Vida) is superb and the pacing terrific. He's a doll.
Ah yea, a time when men were men, and women were glad of it and so desperate for any man's attention... A time when beautiful lounger singers were in every bar and everyone exited the passenger side of the car, lol...
