“It’s what the navy calls mutiny.” One of my favorite scenes in a movie FILLED with great scenes.
"You're gonna get yourself INTO hot water, Franko." LOL
One of the few movies I would always sit down and watch with my dad.
Best bit is Maggot was about halfway done when he joined in the protest .
Love this movie. I was about 16yrs old and my mom sat me down to watch it. She was a big fan of Lee Marvin. That was 1984. I really enjoyed it.
I still watch this movie 36 years later
I used to watch it with my dad back in the good ole' 90s. I miss my parents so much.
"Classic films never die"
Best regards from Venezuela 🇻🇪
Reissman sees Franco's intransigence as an opportunity..... As in bootcamp situations, the Major cultivates Franco as a leader in the ranks - in this way, helping to develop cohesion and team loyalty
Lee Marvin was an absolute badass in a way you don't find in today's films, even among the muscle boys that live in the gym.
Oh give it a rest
@@viborgvee8399we found the girl that loves feminine men.
Richard Jaeckel never seems to get any credit, but he is perfect as the tough sergeant. WWII vet like the others. So much star power that he gets overlooked, but he really provides the frame in which everyone else can chew the scenery. Great acting job.
Jim Brown R.I.P
What a great cast!
Excellent cast Marvin, Savalas, Ryan, Borgnine, Kennedy, Cassavettes, Sutherland, Webber, Walker Its like a who's who of tough guys
Love this scene and look at lee marvin hes smart.... he knows the psychology of men especially psychos like this dozen its beautiful.
I see that they don't like being treated differently, but shaving with cold water really is no worse than shaving in warm water. Now BATHING in cold water is a different story altogether.
I prefer cold water for shaving anyhow
Franko is just adorable. An angry little man who needs to be put to his place. Gotta love him.
"Who is refusing to shave?"
"We are!"
"Who is 'we'?"
"WE!" 😠
When they were making this part of the film near Chenies, Hertfordshire, UK, the cast lunched one day in a local pub, the Bedford Arms. My dad happened to be "Lunching" in the same pub with work colleagues. Apparently, at the end of the meal, Clint Walker queried the bill. All six foot plus of him !
Franko does have a good point, "shaving in cold water" does suck!
I can vouch for that
It is actually BETTER than warm water. I will NEVER go back to shaving with warm. Cold water is best for sensitive skin and keeps you young in general.
@@lucasgrey9794 interesting. I will try it.
The MP sergeant is right too. When you're in the field, cold water is usually all you've got.
@@thomasmarciano6133 Your right. At FT. Bliss Tx. and FT. Carson, CO, In the field, we always shaved in cold water, and this was in the early 90's. To the best of my knowledge, even the 1st Sergeant and the Captain or Company Commander, shaved in cold water.
Richard Jaekel the M.P. joined the mission with the Dozen, he is making sure that they do not desert in action...yet at the end, he joins them in the battle ...he gasped as he watches them die but keeps on shooting. He was wounded but survived with just one member , Charles Bronson as Wladislaw and Lee Marvin as Reisman...the M.P. is counted as one of the Dozen!
I remember watching this movie as a kid in Nigeria in 2001. We had TCM for free on cable and i just randomly stumbked on it. I don't know why but i was hooked! Maybe cause my parents and I woukd watch WW2 documentaries and i also liked Sound of Music. So the film actually appealed to me. I enjoyed it so much
Wow! I watched this in Lagos Nigeria when I was a kid in 1968 or 69 at a movie theater downtown. There was no such thing as cable TV then and the TV only came on at 6:00 in the evening until midnight.
@@bobbyallen7977 Well, in that case, I'd better report in from Calabar. Watched this way back in the mid seventies at the now demolished Patsol Cinema along Bedwell Street. I was still in Primary school and already getting hooked on WW2 movies like Longest Day, Hell Is For Heroes, 633 Squadron. Oh my, those were the days!!! 😅
best line to the movie franko ask the limey tart to dance and she says their's no music , and franko says so hum 😂
That's what he wanted to see, the team gelling...
Lee Marvin’s character was waiting for this moment. He wanted a unified rebellion.
even got my boy Kojak into th.mix
Franko may not be the nicest of the squad, but he is not evil. Maggot is. Franko is more like a much more edgier version of Han Solo. He may not be soo keen on following orders and tried to desert, he'd never betray his squad. From his perspective, he just want to stay out of the war and feels that it's not his fight.
Looks like you made a mistake there.
@@frankb5728 Opps I meant Franko.
He's pretty evil. He was in the Mafia although they call it the Syndicate in the film, and killed someone over a trivial amount of money. Reisman expresses some astonishment that a wise guy killed over that.
"So you want to stink huh"?
the seargeant is my favorite in this movie
I still have to shave in cold water in 2024!
cassavetes is great in this film
Got to read the book before I saw the movie. Guess I was in the 5-6th grade back in the late 60s. Book is better! Much grittier!
Flott gemacht. 👍👍
"What can they do? They can't do nothin'😋 😋 😋"
Thank God for Franko
I think about this scene every time I shave.
Franco had brains. He just used em a different way than Mr. MP wanted.
Shaving in the field sucked!
Spot on
He'll I been shaving with cold water my whole life
It won't make us any better soldiers.🤣
👍👏💯☺️ really good movie
lol @ shaving in battle and having hot water
Nice
cool that Marvin is resting in Arlington national cemetery fitting end for a national treasure rip sir and fellow veteran 🫡
I still like that movie as well
There's a Ukrainian trick to this shaving with cold water the trick is to place as much water into your mouth wait for 5 minutes and voila warm water it gets a getting used but it works .
A soldier complaining about cold water ?
But is the shave! Man
Yes sir
Hey movie clip, can you make the expendables 1 and the expendables 2 movie clip
Telly Savalas last. Cool
THEN DONT *
Was it really a problem to shave in cold water? Ridiculous...
I shave every day
American screenwriting: In World War II, the US Army was still fully segregated. There is no way that a Black would serve with white soldiers.
They were all convicts. I'm sure the "privileges" of being white stood suspended under those circumstances.
Why shave beards are cool!
No komen
Shaving will cold water is actually BETTER.
Hell no.
@@Tylerboyd2001 Heck Y E S. Try it if you don't believe me.
@@lucasgrey9794 I know from experience bro 😂
@@Tylerboyd2001 Care to elaborate on how you did it?
@@lucasgrey9794 just a lot of irritation comes with a cold shave for me, but we’re all different.
Is it real that killers and prisoners cry and whine about cold water??? Is it for real? Ridiculous... :D
First haha
