My dad worked in a major crime unit as an investigator in New Jersey back in that time frame. He saw how with even the tightest and best evidence high level perps "walk" thru some loophole in the legal system. Although he didn't actually operate like the Callahan character, he understood what the character/Eastwood as an actor was portraying. The frustration, stress of dealing with and staying within the law as it was and still bringing criminals to justice. On a sidenote, my father could shoot just as well in real life as was portrayed by Eastwood.@@kahnadah

Karl Urban who knew this did his homework and mumbles "Marvelous" in one of the scenes in the Dredd 3D movie, just like Clint does here. All fun at the time. I live in Australia now so moving lost many of those old comics.
