This is SO incredibly helpful. I had to bid a project today and tried to scour the internet to find actual examples of a proposal and really could not find anything- so this was great. Thank you!
As your previous client, I found this very helpful and informative when you presented it. You covered everything I had questions on. You honestly made me dream living space 🥰
Thank you so much again for this video! Tell me please so this proposal is before they hire you? and all hours you spent on a proposal basically is not paid?
I just wanted to say that I love your videos your such a small channel I want to be a interior designer I can’t even drive yet nor eligible for a job 😭
Liked and subscribed, really helpful, thank you! When you created your timeline in Canva, did you use a specific template? Edit: I think I just found the template you used. Thanks!!
Hi Sandra! Awesome vid! A little off topic, but I've noticed that some of the interior design firms here have been posting that they are accepting applications for summer interns. I just started my online certificate in interior design, do you think it would be appropriate for me to apply for the internships or should I wait till I have more of a robust portfolio (I currently only have work from my space planning and perspective drawing courses). Would love to know your thoughts!
It wouldn't hurt to try! The earlier you can get your foot in the door, the better. After all, internships are for students who are learning. Hope it goes well for you!🙏
Thank you, very helpful. Is the proposal part of your consultation ? Do you charge for it ? Would be awesome to see how you manage contracts. Great content Jessica 🙌🏻
I have a question! I want to get into interior design, but I don’t want to contribute to gentrification. Do you have any knowledge, tips, or suggestions about this?
How many hours do you estimate for a new home design; let's say 3000 square feet? Would it better to just charge a flat fee? How do you know when to charge flat fee vs. hourly? Thanks.
Oooo I absolutely love this question. I am actually in the process of reconfiguring my pricing structure and going to compare hourly vs flat fees. Going to test it out and I will make a video about it!
There are some designers that integrate their contract into the proposal so their proposal is their contract. Since I have my proposal and contract to be two different documents I send out my proposal before sending out the contract. All depends on your preference but I hope that made sense!
Yes, that is completely normal and every designer charges differently. If you have any doubts I am sure your designer will be more than happy to explain!
This was more helpful than anything, as far as how someone actually does a proposal. No one is talking about this.
Girl you don't know how this is very useful for me thank you so much❤🧿
got you girl!

@@SandraJessicaChavez wow I really appreciate it! I’m feeling encouraged and excited about just applying! Thanks so much!!!

Thanks, Advin! I send out the proposal after the consultation so you can say it is sort of part of the consultation.
I have a question! I want to get into interior design, but I don’t want to contribute to gentrification. Do you have any knowledge, tips, or suggestions about this?

Great question. Am also curious about this!
Oooo I absolutely love this question. I am actually in the process of reconfiguring my pricing structure and going to compare hourly vs flat fees. Going to test it out and I will make a video about it!
Do you send your proposal after the contract but before you start designing? I like this style of proposal and I would like to do something similar!
There are some designers that integrate their contract into the proposal so their proposal is their contract. Since I have my proposal and contract to be two different documents I send out my proposal before sending out the contract. All depends on your preference but I hope that made sense!
Hi Sandra. We spoke to a designer charging 26hrs for "final budgeting" expenses (for a 2-3 room job). Is this normal?
Yes, that is completely normal and every designer charges differently. If you have any doubts I am sure your designer will be more than happy to explain!
First to view this 😍
I hope it helped!
It did. Thanks 🙏
I'm not sure if you meant "$50 an hour" as an expensive rate per hour... i've been researching and designers charge an average $100 an hour.
Oh no haha, I meant it as that is the lowest rate a designer can charge.
@@SandraJessicaChavez AAAAAH ok heheheh
