Today I wanted to jump on Canva and talk you through the design process of creating the design fee document.

Omg this video is gold! I wish i saw it when I was doing my first cost proposal! There is so much I can take from it! And I love that you are showing this on canva template as I was meaning to finally look into this program too to make my presentations look more professional. @@SpaceForEdit are you using Canva Pro? just the basic version. I am trying to find out if it's worth paying the monthly fee for the Pro version or perhaps it's enough the basic one. what's your experience? :)
I think I've got Pro at the moment but I was using free one for ages. The pro version unlocks a lot more stock library options so I can get templates and videos for my social media. But if you're just starting out then try out free at first and see how it feels 👍

So this is like the fee proposal & the welcome packet? What would you suggest giving to them at the first consult? Thank you!
Usually clients want to see your portfolio and understand how you work. So I'd always follow up the introduction call with a portfolio. There's a lot of ways to go about this and each client will need a different approach. Some need a longer introduction,others are ready to get straight to business 😁
Tell me please this proposal is before the client decides to hire you? And before a contract? After initial consultation? So basically all the time spent is not paid yet?
Hi Austin! Yep, this is usually after the initial call and most likely a site visit where you've asked about the brief. We do have to do some work upfront but you can work this cost into your proposal so if the job goes ahead you still get paid. It's the game we play 🤷🏼

How do they sign and approve the proposal?
It's usually up to the business owner to dictate this. Most of the time it will be an email from the client that confirms the proposal. Other times you might want to ask for an e-signature or print a copy and have them to sign it in person 👍
