    I find these podcasts to be the most useful thing i get out of flip normals because they touch on very timeless topics that apply to all artists, not just modelers and sculpters. I go back to your old podcasts all the time and the advices that i got out of it are still applicable and worth a lot more than individual button presses. It’s been a treat to see new podcast episodes again!

    I think you guys hit the nail on the head when you said the goal was to improve the lives of people who may not naturally be exposed to this kind of teaching. You guys single-handedly turned around my entire career for the better, and I cannot thank you enough for the crazy life I am living now.
    I look forward to seeing where you take this channel next! :)

    YES! Ever since BlenderGuru's podcast went on pause, I've been dying for more art podcasts. I'm an indie game developer, and I've found a lot of your general guidance of art pipelines and the fundamentals to be super enlightening.

    And I'm really happy for you to finally see more daylight and have more time for things like this. It's amazing what you two have acomplished over the years. Massive respect! You are true heroes in the 3D industry ❤

    This was so motivating. I'm only getting started in the 3d industry and I know its going to be a hard road ahead, but hearing you two getting through tough times is giving me lots of hope and comfort!
    Also thank you for your tutorials! They are so professional, but yet chill to watch

    I'm excited you guys are back. Hearing your humble beginnings is inspiring finding your own path and success. One thing I always wanted to see in tutorials is a breakdown between an artist and programmer developing games. Coming from a beginner, it would be cool to see that.

    Love it!! Super cool to see this. If ever you do guests on this podcast I'd love to jump in and do some art with you guys and chat about the industry.

    Even as a seasoned artist I have learned quite a few new approaches to things in my art pipeline. But then again are we never not learning as artists? :) Keep up the great work. I look forward to seeing these podcastsand various tutorial videos.

    look at the sims 3 modding commmunity and how they use your info for making mods and stuff. I think your insider knowledge can really help our whole community out if you would be willing to do a short series for us? vehicles, clothing, ect ect. would be awesome and I'd buy the courses! @32:30 minutes

    This might be off topic but I have a question. Should I be able to design creatures for being a 3d creature specialist or is it okay if I just make models from concepts

    • @FlippedNormals
      @FlippedNormals  6 месяцев назад +1

      It definitely helps if you can concept, but as a production artist its often not needed.

    Vimeo always had the higher quality videos and youtube gnerally looked bad with crazy compression. At least that's how i remember it. I don't know what they're doing over there now. I still host my vids there but the platform is one of the worst things of all time sadly.

    If you're taking requests and dipping into gaming I'd like a video addressing in some way one of the bigger problems indie and AA gaming has for the past couple of years and its a complete lack of understanding of the actual technical limitations new hires seem to have. For example more and more I'm seeing extremely high poly meshes used straight from sculpting 0 topo with no LODs, 4K PBR textures on tiny insignificant objects, UV mapping through projection and overreliance on lighting instead of texturing.
