I too have too many bags, but I’m gonna tell you about my absolute favorite! It’s the Patagonia dirt roamer 3L, it was perfect for Japan. Can hold two bottles cuz you know there are no garbage cans. I used one of the water bottle holder to slip my iPhone. The small side pockets can fit a MagSafe charger and spare batteries and keys on other side. The big inside pouch can fit x100vi, cash & passport. Move the weight to the waist and can barely feel the weight!
When I was younger I lug heavy bodies and lenses and looked down on compacts. I’m now nearing mid-seventies and I’m still using my Nikon heavies. When I travel I go light with my Sony RX100 compacts series.
Thanks for the video. I’m no longer Fuji guy so my small bag is now based on Sony A7RC, or A7CII, or even a A6700 with a single lens. Still found the video interesting. I’m also not a vlogger so some items you include are just not for me but still enjoyable. Take care.
I am sure that Fujifilm is good, but if I am going 35mm and “light”, I just love the Sony 35mm F1.8. I think it is one of the most versatile lenses there is because it is small, light, bright enough, but most importantly has a really great minimum focus distance. I am usually using that or the Leica Q3. I honestly find it hard to choose between them. I do love to take the RX100 VI as a backup or in case I want a zoom.
One tip and I do some big gear work and then I do some small gear work is make up your mind what you gonna take early? I don't mind carrying my gear. I enjoy the exercise but it is a bit of a mission sometimes.
Cool video! Do you have any tips how to avoid the battery power drain in the Sony RX100VII? This is my biggest and only disappointment after getting this camera - you leave it in the pocket fully charged for a while (2-3 days?), and when you turn it on after the battery is almost empty. The polite way to say it a bit annoying when you spend 1200$ ...
Haha, I have all these, but really if I only had to bring 1, it's my Samsung Ultra S22. Other than that, I would say ANY full frame mirrorless with one pancake lens or F2 lens. The quality of anything else in between is garbage.
hey jason, i just bought a brand new rx100 vii on ebay for $900 with the original box and and the camera being unused. what would you say a good price for a rx100 vii? i see that some people are bidding up to $1200 for a used rx100 vii which seems questionable when it came out 5 years ago for $1300
I never do this I prepare my camera before I go places all I need extra batteries camera shoulder bag, and two lens one medium and smaller lens, I feel primitive not using my dslr take pictures cellphones cant take pictures of humming birds, shoot people inside building with lots of light comic con for example light be to bright in background need lens hood shoot pictures inside building that high bright lights
@@JasonVong Pity. I can carry the Creator Kit AND my cell phone in mine, for an ultralight, no bag kit. The other nice thing about the Pocket 3 is that it's a gimbal that doesn't require all the setup of a "regular" gimbal. There's no balancing, no calibrating, no futzing. I'm improving my gimbal skills, because the Pocket 3 is light enough, compact enough, and easy enough to use. If you want to get fancy, you can mount it on a selfie stick, clamp your cell phone to the stick, run DJI Mimo to control the camera, with a Nano teleprompter floating window on the phone.
Cell phone cameras are much better than they used to be. but before their fingernail-sized sensors can match a "normal" camera, they're gonna have to get a lot better than they are. If all you want is something to shoot and upload directly to Instagram, I guess they'll do. They pretty much all oversharpen and oversaturate their pictures. And I've seen some pretty rancid skin tones from an iPhone 15 Pro's PORTRAIT mode.
Bro just an fyi, you can use a USB-C cable from the camera directly to the iphone 15 pro to import photos, you don't even need the SD card adapter.
Rx100 best camera in the world.. humble and powerhouse.. simple is power.

That edit with the other creators were epic 💪
Another solution to having too much gear with you is just to be broke, so you cant afford much gear 😂
😆
🤣
Nice tip 🔥

Dude that's exactly the combo I'd take too, except I have the X100V at the moment. Still waiting for the RX100VIII

Mount the Sony 35mm on an A7Cr, and who needs the Leica?

Ayyyeeee was that me @2:56!!??? Oh snap!!! Let’s gooo! 😂
🎉 I was so happy when I saw you there
Homie was like I’m gonna bring LESS gear.
Proceeds to being two cameras 😂😂😂
you had me in the first half with the 85mm Gmaster

Always love my ricoh GRd for edc. Great for street photos
Can you please do a comparison between the rx100 and the x100? And op3 vs rx100. Deciding between these 3 😂

5:00 where your flash lights in bag???
lol…just schleppled around a ton of equipment and primarily used Sony a7r4 with 24-70 and pocket osmo 360
Jason, can you please compare image quality for rx100VA vs rx100VII ? thanks
my edc, A-1 in a small
rig cage and 50 1.2 GM :P
If in future Jason talks with this tone of voice to his great grand children, then I want that featured on RUclips
Thanks for the video. I truly am a Granny and l like not carrying too much with me No Fuji lady, but can afford the Sony. Very groovy 🎉
2.8/14mm LUMIX on an E-PL10, extra battery. Done.
a6500 as main ans zv-1 as my sub. I dont have a sling yet but, if i did, i’d go with the peak design 2L v2 sling
More planks, electrolytes and less pasta. Another informative video.
Thanks Jason

$900 ain't too bad! I think the RX100VII is a lil harder to come by nowadays which makes sense on the higher bids.
Can you do a rx100 vii vs Ricoh GR iii video?
I just want the cámara hat! Were did you get it?
where is my lovely Sony rx 100m8 with 10bit codec?
I was expecting to see Ricoh GR iii but X100 VI is too obvious 😂
step one : make some money
step two : make some money
step three : buy camera
step four : repeat step one
love your videos bro! :)
Where can i get that strawhat hotshoe?
where did you get the one piece hat from? I want one haha
I agree 100%. Good vid ✌️
I have like 6 backpacks, and now you are trying to convince me to get a small sling?!
1:05 is the best shot
This guy is hinting the 85mm gm ii. 😅
RX100VII is good shot on sun light.
it's great in low light too! 😏
Mei called. She wants her hat back.
Do you consider Rx10 IV ?
I have! I've used it extensively in April and quite like it a lot! I want them to make a RX10 V with all the AI Autofocus. It would be a 1" beast!
@@JasonVong thanks for the experience sharing 🤣🤣

Great Video
This is a mood, I need to cut down ❤😂
This video is going to age well when they release the 85 GM II next month.
🤐
The Osmo Pocket 3 Creator Kit will fit in the pockets of a pair of cargo shorts. No bag needed. Just sayin'.
I sadly don't own any cargo shorts 😅

“So my minimalist every day camera kit comprises of [two cameras]”
Ok where is the real gear?
Love you wong!
damn ..and here i thought you were a diehard sony guy
Smart Grandpa
LIES! You obviously didn't show us the 13 batteries you'd need for the rx100m7 just for it to last 30 seconds shooting video😂
Nope, just one battery extra at most since I don't take videos on it much anymore!
ok i’ll bite. where’s the luffy hat hotshoe from
Story of my life
if im not shooting with my big camera im using my phone
I bring an iPhone and I’m good.
Um... is that a little hat on your hot shoe?!?
it’s luffy’s hat from one piece.
It’s a hat shoe
How is over $7000 worth of camera gear considered “Minimalist EDC”… I shoot a Panasonic GX85 with a 50mm f1.7. It’s 400 bucks.
“Minimalist EDC” isn’t about cost, it’s about size and convenience. Your kit is fine, but price isn’t really a criteria here I think.
A phone. Isn't that obvious?
Evolution? aww man! You seemed like a smart dude till I heard that.
Why does your camera wear a hat?
Someday, the only camera you’ll need is an iphone.
Or a Pixel.

Oh yeah iPhone is closing in incredibly fast. ProRes LOG has been incredibly game changing for me! For photos, I still prefer a camera... for now.
