    Looked hard at the custom but wanted a 3500 and it didn’t have the new 2024 interior. For $7k more, bought a well equipped 2024 3500 SWD LT Duramax with the updated interior plus fog lights, center console, Z71, multiflex tailgate, 360 cameras on a 13 inch display, etc… I installed LED headlights and rear fender liners so you could do the same on a custom to address those negatives. No doubt the custom is the best bang for your buck especially if you can get a discount. Add some 285/75/18 Nitto Ridge Grapplers, Method HD wheels, and debadging…truck would look great.

    100% Agree that the 2500HD custom is the sweet spot for value. I bought one earlier this year. I specifically didn't want the new interior, so I was excited to be able to still get the dash with physical gauges and the smaller touchscreen w/ Android auto. I don't need a diesel, and for many folks, like me, the '24 Custom trim with the L8T gasser and the Allison 10 speed transmission is a phenomenal value. It tows my 27" foot travel trailer like a dream. With the gas engine, my payload is 3700 pounds, which is great for hauling firewood in the 8' bed. Obviously, "Affordable" is relative, but prices are what they are, and I think it's one of the best buys available today. Mine was under $60k out the door with the spray-in bedliner and running boards included. Keep up the great videos, JB!

    I want to thank you JB for helping me choose a truck this year. I purchased a 2024 custom 2500 in August. It has the diesel, Sterling gray metallic paint, z71 package, basically loaded as far as a custom goes. I traveled far to get it but so worth it. I watch your channel all the time. So helpful to see what’s out there and learning about payload etc. Keep up the good work!

      Nice. I 'built' a 6.6L gas 2500 double cab standard bed for $58,000 that includes the Multi-Flex tailgate. I much prefer cloth seats and the carryover interior for a work truck. Probably my next truck as I don't tow heavy but want the load capacity.

  • @matthewanderson9912
    @matthewanderson9912 Год назад +8

    The Custom trim is the best value on the market for 2024 hands down. They have really fixed some of the short comings it had for the 2020-2023 models, and even those were nice but the 2024 really turned it up.
    They come standard with wireless CarPlay and push button start.
    You can get a Z71. You can get adaptive cruise control. They finally added rear charge ports which a lot of the early 2024s have a credit for not having those, but it is finally available. It’s just a really nice trim that gives you all the must haves in my opinion (remote start, wireless CarPlay, push button start) for a price that is still high but nowhere near as high as the other brands.
    If they would do the LED headlights and fog lights for the Custom I think it would outsell even the High Country. It’s already arguably the most popular Chevy trim. Atleast in my area.

    I just picked up my custom . The truck was purchased to pull our toy hauler around the country in our retirement. For the price of 3/4 tons, trucks are going for. 65 thousand for a duramax custom. It's a hard truck to beat. Your video was spot on.

  • @Jbennyho

    If they upgraded the interior it would no longer be as much of an “affordable price”. I personally like the gauges, seats, and interior design of the Custom trim, as shown in your video. That trim is what keeps it the Custom without moving up to the LT which is available at a higher price.

    They kept saying, "oh, they discontinued blah, blah, blah. We can reorder without or your can come check our inventory." All three dealers did this to me. One of them tried to keep me from getting my deposit back. I ended up traveling out of state. Got the 23' Greenstone Metallic, diesel for $64,000. And I got a better trade in on my '18 1500.

Price South Texas at $58K cheaper than a Hill Country 1500 with weaker muscles. I JUST dont like the fake chrome LT and higher end trims. Looks ridiculous IMO but my perspective is a 'work truck', I know out there fellas like fancy stuff too .....

    Back in March I was looking to get a bigger truck, was going to buy a f250 but the cheapest ones I could find were 65k with 60k miles. Then I found a new 2500 custom duramax and a few different options than this one, the better screen in the gauge cluster, bed camera, and side steps and it was 6k off for 59k.
    At 3k miles it had and exhaust issue, ended up replacing the def injector and the cat, but since then no issues. Over all no complaints, especially for the price compared to other trucks

    Bought this truck in July of 2023. Love it,but here we are in April and I heard a noise coming from the engine compartment. Take it to the dealer for what I think might be a belt noise. Just got a call that it’s my lifters in cylinder #1,#2 making that noise. No check engine light on. Just a noise at cold start up. They are now replacing all 16 of them. The truck has 3894 miles on it oh and I just had the oil changed (the noise was present before the oil change) I am very disappointed with this hopefully it will get fixed correctly. By the way it’s Gas not diesel.
