Yeah , delete it if you want to get max engine life and fuel mileage. I really like the ScanGauge 3's. Gives you tons of gauges and reads and clears codes. When did you start thinking about a new truck? Back in August? Can't help but think I had something to do with this...

My girlfriend lives 20 miles from Clinton IN. That dealership went out of their way to help me find some discontinued parts for my 2000 S-10. I was a total stranger off the street and their parts guys spent a hour on my parts issue. Outstanding. Congrats on the new Dirty-Max

Beautiful truck. You will love it. I went full on stupid and got the High Country with the Z71 package as well. We pull a 5th wheel with it and it is just amazing. When you are towing a trailer and you put a turn signal on it will show the entire side of your truck and trailer on the screen so you can watch as you are making the turn or lane change. Check your rear view mirror, should be a switch that turns on the rear camera instead of just seeing what is in the actual mirror view. There should also be the trailer checklist that activates once you plug the trailer in. It will do a light check and you can name individual trailers and it will track your fuel economy based on which trailer you are towing. The list goes on and on. Enjoy.

I should’ve watched all the way before replying but another hit on the algorithm won’t hurt ya! LOL
    1. You more than likely have the all windows down option through the remote. I do not have the dash button either which is good because when I hot box my passengers, I do not want an escape button.
    2. I put Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/T tires on mine and they’re freaking awesome. Quiet and look the sh!t. I have 18” rims for better tow rating though so with your 20s, they might not be available. If they are, you will not be disappointed.
    3. Consider the Banks Pedal Monster. It is perfect for fixing the lag in the throttle. You might not notice it right now but it exists. I recommend all the Banks tuning options but if you don’t want to go that way, the Pedal Monster is almost a must have.
    4. Keep your Hot Shots EDT bottle in the hidden seat pocket inside a gallon zip top bag! I love using the space for that since it’s handy. If you don’t use the Hot Shots EDT then I can’t help you. It’s time to evolve with the rest of the human race, dude. At least come along with us who value the Duramax engine living under the hoods of our trucks!
    5. Or whatever number I’m on… do a ceramic coating on that truck now while it’s relatively clean. The truck is a skag when you gotta get up on the roof to clean and coat it. Make life easy on yourself and lay down some protection.
That’s it. I’m done now. You still have a beautiful truck. I like mine better but yours is nice. Just not as nice as mine. Sorry not sorry! 😂

The key point in the first five minutes is "happy". After five minutes I skipped to the end . Laughed about not have key fob to open doors and start vehicle. Maybe 15% cut on taxes works if your ego requires it. My 2006 Cummins still hauls and I suffer through having to look in the mirror to see if I am going to hit something.
Bought truck in 2008 with 1201 miles on it for $21,864.
We just used it to haul four horse trailer with sleeping quarters and deliver round bales.
HAPPY is all that matters. Very well done review.

Awesome video man, enjoyed the review and you gained a subscriber. Just bought a used 2022 LT back in the summer last year and love it, pulls like a freight train. Like you said, they are not getting any cheaper, you can afford it, and being happy with your purchase is the most important thing at the end of the day. Enjoy the truck!
Also, definitely agree on the headlights, I am looking at some LEDs for mine. Have heard both Lasfit and Diesel LEDS are great and reasonable price. Only other accessory I have looked into and have actually purchased are husky floor liners. My LT had some very crappy mats when I got it, so an upgrade was definitely a must. I noticed yours came with the Z71 mats so you may not be interested in that but just wanted to mention because I have been very happy with mine.

My father just traded his 2017 Z-71 1500 in for a 2024 2500 6.6 GAS Z-71. He was having transmission issues with it at 80k miles. There is a class action lawsuit against chevy for trucks from 2015 - 2019 because of this. You might want to look into it for your old truck. My father was out almost 10k in repairs and eventually, a replacement transmission while he was 14 hours from home on a camping trip.... I'll stick with my tried and true 2500 Cummins with the G56 manual transmission. I hope this one treats you better. I'm pretty sure I'm going backwards, picking up an old square-body and building the next truck of my dreams, I've had it with the gizmos LOL

Kyle, I agree the factory LED headlights and taillights look way better. However, I got a 2024 Ram 2500 back in May with the standard headlights and taillights. I upgraded most of my lighting with Lasfit LED bulbs. Can see much better now, truck looks more modern with the whiter lights, and best part, if a bulb goes out, it’s less than $100 to replace a pair of them.
If a factory LED goes out, you have to replace the whole assembly which generally costs over $1000!

I had a 2008 3/4 ton GMC Sierra, hauled much with it. One day, we had a bad accident with a school bus, and I lost march of 2022. Well, I had to have a new truck after that, and during that great sickness that gripped the world and no trucks to be had except for overpriced used trucks, I had to order one. The dealership I used was a local one I had used before, and I had to basically purchase the truck online. Thinking about how I wanted my new truck, I was met with every option I've never had a real choice for, but this time, I was building the truck that was going to fit my needs. When all was said and done, I was looking at the price and figured that this might be the last truck I own, and I was sort of proud of what I created. At the end of this, the dealer asked, "How long do you want to wait for this truck?" I wasn't sure because I had heard that 16 to 18 weeks was the norm. He informed me about a truck that he had on order and that no one had purchased it from under him, and if I wanted, we could update his build sheet and my wait would be more like 8 to 10 weeks but the only thing was I had to switch to the 1 ton truck. Now I really wanted to go to a heavier truck but wasn't aware of the cost, come to find out it was only about 950.00 to go to the 3500. I'm pleased with my 22 and am glad I went with the bigger one, and as far as the tailgate goes, I didn't think that I would use mine, but I do. Figured that I would wreck it as I have all others in the past, but I haven't. Wait until you hitch up some weight. It won't get that great fuel mileage when towing, but you will be happy 😀 I hope you enjoy your new truck as I do. With all that power, be mindful of what you hual and be safe. Great choice.

I have a 2021 1 ton dually same color same engine. They are beasts. Yes the tailgate sucks. I had to have the button in the tailgate replaced once. The goose neck factor balls suck too. They clank and some friends of mine have had problems getting the receiver ball out. The work lights on the mirrors are really nice and backing a trailer at night they are really nice and that exhaust brake is awesome. Yes they are high. Stupid high. You will love it when you pull something with it.

Kyle I commented on the last video about how I bought the 2021 1500 with the 3.0 brand new. That was the very first brand new vehicle I bought in my life. It’s loaded too, all the bells and whistles you showed on your new 2500 and then some. I love the truck (and I tend to lean more Ford when it comes to trucks) here’s the thing, as you said, all new trucks are crazy expensive. But you have to consider what you are using it for, what your financial position is, and what the resale value is. I’m not wealthy but I work hard and do ok for myself. I also got a crazy good trade on my previous used 2017 f150 lariat on this truck, so the equity was already there. It’s expensive, but I owe $16k still on my Chevy and it would probably sell private for about $40k. That’s a lot of equity to be able to play with if/when I need to upgrade. And I think you think similarly. Good luck with it, you deserve it bro

I have a 2024 3500 LT in the same color. The halogen headlights are actually a plus. You simply put in Sealight or Lasfit H11 LED bulbs. Very simple. The issue with the higher trim level LED headlights with the newer front end is that you have to replace the entire $1,200 headlight if any part of the animated LED fails because it’s a sealed headlamp. With the halogen, you just pop in an LED bulb in 15 mins. Also, get your oil changed every 5k miles. The EGR recirculates the exhaust through the engine turning it black. Check your oil, it will be black. A fuel additive is also highly recommended. The fuel bypasses the cylinder wall and contaminates the oil.

As a retiree from a major auto maker, I fully endorse buying new! 😂 It’s the only way I roll for many reasons. You are spot on with the reasons why to buy new. I’m looking into all 3 full size HD offerings now and will spend way too much on one in the near future. Purchased a 2012 RAM 25000 turbo diesel new and still have it and will keep it forever. Nothing wrong with pre-owned but just not for me and many other folks. Also, choosing the right dealer will have a huge impact on your ownership experience. Trust me, there is a huge difference among dealers of the same brand. Sounds like you got a great one that takes care of its customers. Enjoy the new ride.

I've got an 8k lb 5th wheel that I have to haul around and I'm torn between a half ton with the 3.0 or trying to see if I could even hope to afford a 3/4 ton. I am currently shopping as well. We have a camper that weighs around 9,000 pounds as well as 2 boats, tractors, and utility trailers that we haul around. I'd say that 75% of my truck driving involves pulling a trailer of some sort. We live in Georgia, so altitude and mountain pulling isn't a big deal for us. You can buy a lower trim gasoline 3/4 ton around here for $50k. F250 or 2500 are in the same ballpark pricewise. I am NOT buying a diesel this time. My current 3/4 ton is a Duramax and, for my application, having the extra power is outweighed by the initial cost and far higher maintenance costs. The days of "that diesel will last a million miles" are over.

  • @berkoskilandscaping4247

Love it. With these new diesels though make sure you don’t let the truck just sit and idle too much, use diesel fuel additives every time you fill up because of the cp4 pump and do your oil changes early like at 5k miles. Good luck with it, they are my favorite.

Very nice truck. Yes they’re far too expensive, but if that’s what you need, then it shouldn’t bother anyone else. I know people will say stuff, but don’t let it bother you. They’re just jealous.

Yep, new truck prices are stupid, I just bought a "new" truck a few months ago, 1 owner, 2011 F350 8' bed, crew cab Lariat, 6.7 power stroke deleted with 110k miles in mint condition in and out, paid 25k for it from private party. It has basically all those same features in it of your new truck except just the one rear camera, no auto tail gate and smaller more outdated navigation/screen of course. Ohh and it has seat memory buttons. :)

Nice truck. If it’s what you want and you can afford it no need to justify your purchase. Other peoples opinions don’t mean squat.

I just bought a similar truck ('24 Z71 LT). The 2 things I found odd was, 1) climate controls doesn't have an option for both windshield & floor board area. It's either windshield, floor or dash vents. 2) and, I have not seen where you can adjust the bass, mids or treble for the stereo. I found that to be odd as well. One item i don't understand is the gap distance button on the steering wheel. Either mine is not operating or I'm using it correctly. I thought it was for cruise control but apparently I was incorrect.

I did find the bass/ mid/treble settings. But theres no presets for the equalizer like rock/hiphop/classical. I havent even noticed the gap button. Ill have to check that out.

Congrats on the new tow pig. About a month ago my truck decided to stop being a truck. So I ended up getting an F250. I went 7.3 gas (Godzilla) but still pretty work truck spec. Yeah the tech is wild. Love the 360 camera.

Just grabbed a 2025 2500hd 6.6 gas Custom Crew-Cab for under $54k OTD. L8T engine is great, 10spd allison branded trans is great. Didn't need the LT+ interior so the Custom was perfect. Can haul the family or a trailer and get 464tq on 87 octane.

Nice looking trk. I would run seafoam on on occasion to help with injector life.I work in TH an always here good things about Pilson’s

Just traded my 2020 Ram 1500 Hemi with 68000 miles in on Ford 24 F150 XLT 5.0. 81% of sticker price with highest trade-in value according to KBB. Thought about Chv/GMC real hard after having one for a week as a rental but my 92 was such a disaster. congrats, it's sharp.

Crazy I did the same thing traded in my 2019 Ram 1500 Laramie for a 2024 F-150 Lariat and got 13k off msrp plus my trade was worth 24k they gave me 27k just to make the deal happen on the last day of 2024. Im a Ford guy now 😅 but I do miss my Ram tbh interior was better on the Ram but man this 5.0 motor is faster, sounds better and drives better.

You are able to install the 2023 high country lights on this model with a harness from gen5diy. I installed them on my 2024 right after I bought it in 2023. You mentioned installing a black emblem, this would be a good time to install the new lights since you need to remove the front grill.

I've got my eye on a 2025 GMC Sierra 3.0 Denali Ultimate, but only when it becomes more affordable. Tampa prices still outrageous despite packed lots. I saw today KIA and RAM has a new car graveyard out in the dirt. Weeds growing up into new cars. New cars and trucks double and triple stacked down the road. Nice 2025 HD, actually cheaper than the Sierra 1500 Denali Ultimate. I want to 3.0 for the fuel economy.

Sharp vehicle!! Think about Goodyear Duratracks for the new shoes. They are great tires. Work well in any conditions and quiet on the road. Excellent longevity. Decent price for more "beefy" tires. I have them on an 04 Dodge Durango as well as my 2017 RAM 1500, Laramie Longhorn Edition. Took the stock Goodyear SRA garbage off at 3k miles. Love the Duratracks.
