Not really getting the problem. People wearing a AWU and you get like 4 years whoop membership out of the price. Until this point your AWU battery dies and you need a new one anyways. The argument that it's super expensive is kinda ridiculous to me. The assumption you just pay one time and it lasts for a lifetime is just not accurate. All those batteries will die within 2-4 years
Oh man! I’m glad you explained the band. For the longest time, I thought you had a severe medical condition or thought it might be a type of nicotine patch.
@@MarcusCreates yeah, but I know people who wear large patches and I just imagined the strap was to keep it in place for some reason anyway glad you’re alright
I was able to test the whoop thanks to you. It was really nice, once I received a warning saying that my temperature was 1.6 degrees (C) higher than usually, after 1 day from that warning I’ve got a cold. I really liked it, but for me was too expensive and I didn’t like it that I cannot use it after the subscription ended.
Great video and overview. I have the Apple Watch Ultra and the Ultrahuman Air ring. Going to give the glucose monitoring a try to get some insight on how I can fine tune my diet. Again, always love your videos and delivery style. Down to earth common sense.
Great video, I’ve been considering the Ultrahuman Air for a few weeks now but the information about the Whoop 4.0 was really interesting as well! I totally appreciate you can’t review every product out there but I’ll including a Garmin watch in there would have been helpful too given how ubiquitous they are in many fitness / athletic communities. Maybe you can give one a try as you get more into running?

thank you for doing this, I've been in the market for the next wearable tracker, I still have the fitbit charge 2 which is so old but still works in some areas ... i am thinking of getting the whoop but after your thorough review I am going to put the Ultrahuman in my list because of the Blood Glucose test
Keep in mind all Fitbits require a Google log on early 2025. Same if you buy another older Fitbit now. Very hard to switch over in my opinion. My Fitbit Ch. 2 is still working also. Use Charge 4 the most. Ultra Human Air will probably replace my Fitbits (going to miss them).
Very interesting video, thanks for that. I’m on a comparable journey, trying to get in a better shape, learning about my health etc by using data, and having a certain age. 😉 For a simple, very specific reason, it’s the Apple Watch (series 9, not Ultra, I don’t like the looks of it) for me. I just don’t want to bring my phone with me for every workout / training session, while still absolute love and need to listen to music and track distances and locations outdoors with gps. Not possible with the whoop band (I assume also not with the ring). I do agree with you though about the app, would love to have the style and informations presented in Apple health like in the Whoop app!
But is the Ultrahuman Air really good while lifting? Doesnt it get in clinch with dumbbells etc? Searching for an addition to my Apple Watch Ultra and the Ultrahuman Air in 14 coooould fit my massive hands maybe. :D
I have the oura ring and UH ring. Both mess with your grip but the oura ring is more chunky. You can sort of mitigate it if you size the ring for your pinky but supposedly it messed with the data accuracy. I haven't noticed a difference between all 5 fingers.
Fantastic review. Have you also tried the Oura ring 3? I’ve read it’s more accurate than ultra human air, but seems like you would know as you must be comparing your ultra human air readings to your whoop.
Hi, I am surprised that Withings watches are overlooked. In my opinion they are the best overall smart watches. I do have a question what is your cuff bracelet? Oh and just recently came across your channel and I love it.
Thanks for the positivity. I like Withings but I’ve never tried them personally. My bracelet is from a jewelry store in Kerry, Ireland and they’re not available. Sorry.
I have the ultra 2 and just bought a treadmill to get some cardio in.. Thinking of getting the ultrahuman ring to wear for sleep tracking and other data that i am not getting with the watch.. Every video i see is convincing me to get it even more.
The required subscription membership on the whoop strap is a deal breaker. I own Apple Series 8 but for health only, not a great activity watch in my opinion. The Ultra Human Air will be ordered once I get the fitting kit later today. Appreciate your findings.
Thanks Marcus, enjoyed the video. I have the whoop 4.0 (which I like) but I think the battery life is worse than the 3.0 which I had previously. At best, I would get 3 days of battery life. At least it is easy to recharge. I do take the strain and stress readings with a grain of salt - I’ve had situations like cooking dinner or doing housework where the whoop registers that with a strain score of 10. With any of these devices, as long as we’re aware of their limitations, they can be helpful.
The only people that I’ve ever seen wear a whoop are the ones with the affiliation code to promote….think about that for a sec. I fell for it and returned mine within a month.
That’s interesting. What do you think the reasoning is behind that? If using someone else’s code just gets them a month of free usage does it not further mean they actually wear the whoop and promote it so they can continue to wear it? I’m a bit confused by the logic here. On a separate note I watched a couple of your vids on RUclips. You should put more out. 3.7m views on the gasket vid! Amazing. 👍🏻
That is because its so expensive and the subscription based payment is scaring them. Whoop is really more than just a solid tracker, it gives you the data straight forward in a way to you you can understand. Its still expensive though, not because its not worth it but the fact that alternatives are much cheaper in the long term
The killer feature I need is getting insight into how my behaviors affect my sleep and recovery. It sounds like only the Whoop can give me that with its logging feature.
Claps !!! Love it ..sir I don’t comment ! So know you help me spend my money !! This all I wanted to know ..ps now I got to buy a glucose 😂patch now .thank you
Thank you for the video, Marcus. After watching it, I'm definitely considering the Ultrahuman Air for a sleep tracker. One thing that stood out from this video was the impressive amount of sleep you’re able to get. If you're brainstorming video ideas, I'd love to see one discussing the routines and habits that have been working for you. Additionally I’d be interested to hear about the tools and apps you use to commit to your routines so that you’re able to maintain a balanced and healthy lifestyle. Thanks again!
Love your content, and honestly your weight loss has pretty noticeable in your videos so congrats on that! I’ve been debating the Whoop lately because I’m tired of the Apple Watch and would like to wear regular watches again but still get health tracking. Tbh I wish Apple would come out with a sleek fitness band!
Great insight! There are so many choices - many Garmin offerings, Polar H10. I would probably choose the 3 devices that you did and use them all when I get serious about a gym routine again. I need to start soon, but wait for the funds. It is costly, especially with the right supplements and devices. I am wondering how well these trackers integrate with other independent fitness apps. There are a lot of good exercise apps that I want to try. Thanks for this review!
Whats your opinion on the Whoop Pro subscription? I'm in my trial month but considering purchasing pro for the "free" item every 3 months. If i atick with it I will likey purchase a few of their extras over time anyway.
@@MarcusCreatesAfter looking over it I'm inclined to agree. I only really want a bicep band and maybe the shorts anyway. I don't really care what color my band is going to be.
Interesting info; thanks! Most of these apps require you to consistently add data manually, which is hard for me to maintain because…well….I get lazy. 🙄 I’m really hoping Apple is working on using AI to parse data for better tracking of trends and identifying insights. As you said, they have a lot of info in their Health app but it’s hard to know how to use it.
What is the sampling rate for heart beat, blood oxygen, HRV, temperature etc. for Ultrahuman Air ?? If the sampling rate is 1 time every 15 minutes, it is nearly useless. I believe that a sample rate of 1 time every 30 seconds is the minimum for accurate data.
It would be nice if you could make a comparison to Apple Watch where you use third party apps that make the insights more similar to whoop. Like athlytic and bevel

Most of the time is underestimates it by 20-30 MS. Multiple people have mentioned all of these on Reddit and the official UH slack so this is not just my opinion. Whoop and Apple Watch are the ideal fitness trackers. They both actually get close to measuring accurate heart rate and they do not hinder you no matter what the workout is.

I really don’t like it for pull ups. I have no issue with barbell and dumbbells. It’s all scratched up and dented. Looks great IMO. Tough enough for sure but pinches my palm for pull-ups so slip into my pocket for those.
