  • Kawal Kishore Saluja and his family run Chache Di Hatti or “uncle's corner shop”, a hole-in-the-wall eatery in New Delhi, India. On the menu is one single dish -- Chole Bhature.
Chole Bhature is a common breakfast option in north India consisting of fried sourdough flatbread (bhature) with chickpea curry (chole). What sets apart Chache Di Hatti, is their secret spice mix for the chickpea curry, a recipe handed down to Kawal Kishore by his father.
The eatery has been serving Chole Bhature since 1957 from just that one location and Kawal Chacha (uncle) is in no hurry to make any changes! If you are in New Delhi, and want to know what a heady Dilli ka nashta (Delhi's breakfast) tastes like, do go over to Chache Di Hatti. Be prepared for the long queue, and the most amazing taste!

@@anishpimple21 From the campus perspective, there is tom uncle's maggi point. If you want to try rolls go for Chowringhee. Inside Kamlanagar's second by lane (adjacent to MC Donalds) if you go straight you will find a road that leads to ghantaghar. There is ample of kachori, samosa and other indian typical snacks over there. In Kamla nagar you have lot of street options. Obviously there are restaurants as well, Berkos, Chalte Firte, just above chalter firte there is a restaurant that serves great fish. If you consider eating in a Dhaba consider Ved Dhaba. There the condaments are better. Ved Dhaba is famous for it's sweets (renowned actually) and Lassi. I would suggest you to try it. There is also a momo place which is quite famous. I personally would suggest in the main lane opposite to Hansraj Hostel Gate, you will move straight on the same road just near the walkers lane there is a famous momo stall. There are ample amount of chatwala, golgappa bala, stalls serving burger etc. And you can try them, no preference. And if you like non-veg I would suggest Chadni Chowk and Jama Masjid area for kebab, chicken korma, biriyani and curries. From south, you can head over to shops near Nizamuddin dargah which is enroute to Humayun's tomb.

So, I started liking it. There is one in the ghantahhar road, he uses brown chola. Just while you turn from malkaganj chowk to ghantaghar the road that leads to ghantaghar. The first chole wala sells I guess chole chawal and chole bhature for 20/-. That one is far better.

You can definitely make a vegan version of it without the ghee! I am Bengali and we don't generally use ghee in our everyday chickpea curry and yet it tastes delicious!!!
