I’ve been build-crafting for the better part of a half a year or so to build the best possible Final Fantasy Red Mage in DnD 5e. The best option I’ve found is to play as a Divine Soul Sorcerer with a 1-3 level dip into Hexblade Warlock. Maybe take 1-3 levels in Bard as well, either college of Swords or Valor, I prefer Swords. Take Warcaster and/or Resilient (Con) because you’ll be an secondary tank in the middle lines for those boosts to concentration.
Also wanted to say that this is probably my favorite Sorcerer subclass, and you did a great job at describing why. Cool vid. :)

9/10 is pretty much what I was expecting

It is great... BUT.... sorc already has an amazing list and you are adding another great list with way to few known spells. Lots of FOMO and choice paralysis

How is divine magic 10/10, I mean when Psionic Spells features exist letting you pick 10 spells from 3 different class but limited to 2 schools.
Divine magic might be a 8/10 at best if you want to make it a 10/10 let me choose 10 spells between level 1 and 5 from the cleric spell list with no school restriction (seems fair to reduce from 3 to 1 class spell list but remove the school restriction) that I can cast using sorcerer point (1sorcerer point per spell level). Exactly like psionic and clockwork.
Yes Favored by the god is great yes up to +8 on a roll is cool, but the average is a +5 which is still freaking powerful.
Empowered healing SUCKS here why, at best this is a 4/10 might be useful SITUATIONALY, but when compare to dragon sorcerer who add their full charisma modifier on their elemental spell, or shadow sorcerer who get a hound that give disavantage to his target against the sorcerer spell, or aberant mind who can cast his psionic spell without using component (so basically subtle) for free, I cannot give this anything higher then a 4/10. The divine sorcerer received a bad 6th level feature.
Empowered spell metamagic exist and does the same thing for ALL your spell, not just healing one.
Sure Empower spell works on other characters next to you casting healing spell.
First what is the impact of rerolling dice? I mean yes if on m D8 I rolled a 1 and I reroll a 8 it's 7 extra point of healing depending what level you are it's could be huge... sadly you are level 6 already, 7 points of healing is not that great and this is the extremly best case scenario.
A d4 have 2.5 average score. IF you reroll that d4 when you roll 1 or 2, your average roll become 3. This feature on a D4 give you 1 extra point of healing on average.
A d6 average is 3.5, if you reroll 1,2 and 3s your new average become 4.25. You get 0.75 point of extra healing here, even less then with a D4.
A d8 average if 4.5, if you reroll 1.2.3 and 4 your new average become 5.5. Once again 1 extra point of healing per dice.
But let's look at those healing spell. shall we?
Cure wound: range of touch, so the cleric trying to heal the barbarian in melee usually have a big armor and d8HD to survive in melee. Your sorcerer without armor and with d6HD standing 5ft from the cleric who himself is 5ft from the raging barbarian getting pummeled by the BBEG... I do not feel really safe there. So you need to stand way to close to danger in order to give on average 1 extra point of healing per spell slot used.
Healing word, yes it's a range spell, so the cleric can be next to my sorcerer in the safety of the back line. So better then Cure wound for sure, but it's still just 1 extra point of healing on average per spell slot used.
Prayer of healing: 10 minutes casting time? Who uses prayer of healing? and again 1 extra point of healing on average per spell slot used
do you see the pattern? for 1 sorcery point you will give on average 1 extra healing point per dice rolled. Sure the average might not be the best metric here since if the guy got lucky and rolled 4-5 and 6's you won't use the ability. you will use it when he rolled a lot of 1-2 and 3's, But unless you are casting healing word using a 9th level spell slot, you are rolling a few dice per casting so the impact will never be that good. And once you reach the higher level, healing spell start to give out flat amount (Heal, mass heal, power word heal)
Oh and it only work with healing spell. So healing potion? not affected, special ability that heal people like the celestial warlock and druid of the dream get? not affected. Even healing spirit, the argument could be made that it's the conjured creature that heal, not the spell, similarly to conjured creature not dealing magical damage.
Yes 100% agree, at will concentration free flight is always a perfect feature. But this make Empowered healing EVEN WORST, since now that you are safely flying. Unless you are the one casting the healing spell, I doubt your cleric is also flying within 5ft of you, or at least it requires more setup and planning then when you were earthbound
