    Etsy almost forces ppl to NOT allow low prices for customers; otherwise sellers wouldn't break even, due to fees. Esty is obviously making out nicely, considering most of these fees are charged automatically, so no one at Etsy is actually doing much work but they're collecting massive fees from the people who ARE doing the work - the artisans creating the product.

      they're not doing much work? hahaha, dude, come on. I'm sorry, but you absolutely have no idea what you're talking about. Maybe you should build a site to compete against Etsy, if it doesn't take much work 🤣🤣🤣

    Listing FEEs, Payment FEEs, Processing FEEs, Click FEEs (you have no way of actually counting on the back end), Shipping FEEs, Label FEEs, Just Because FEEs, Big FEEs, Little FEEs........😄😄😄 I do not have an Etsy shop but I know people who did/do. I'm curious why Etsy doesn't simplify costs for sellers by implementing an annual membership FEE instead to eliminate all the annoying fees. It will definitely simplify the Sellers record keeping and will probably be more cost effective. How can Seller prices be competitive and still make a profit?

    I opened my shop in october and only had about 3 sales in the year 2022. Well I recently got 3 sales on a sweatshirt in the same week and just got another sale so things are starting to pick up. The only problem is etsy put my account into a payment reserve and I need that money to fulfill the sweatshirts. The orders always ship on time with USPS tracking so I’m not sure what the problem is, has this happened to you??

    Thank you for all the information! You'd think understanding all this would be easy, but having guidance is so appreciated. Just want to clarify...Does Etsy take the 6.5% fee after or before tax? I live in Florida, do not accept Etsy Payments, use free shipping...so the only fees I would pay are the 6.5% and the .20 per listing, am I correct? Thank you!

      Don't forget the transaction fees of 3% + .25. You are basically going to pay 10% every single sale. And when you hit the $10,000 mark in the 365 window... it rises to .22% on every sale that was directed by forced off-site ads. I know, I'm living the dream!

    I thought that the etsy shipping method were fees covered by buyer
    I'm use to sell on Mercari, so etsy kind of confuses me but when i sell something on there, i don't need to worry about shipping bc Mercari creates the label (that the buyer paid) and i just download and print. Is it like that as well on etsy or i got it wrong?

    • @KateHayes
      @KateHayes  10 месяцев назад

      You can either choose to offer free shipping and include shipping costs into the overall listing price. Or your customer can pay for shipping separately. You can get the labels directly from Etsy for USPS or FedEx
