    What I think would have probably happened, if the Germans held onto the non agression pact:
    The attack on pearl harbour by the Japanese would probably have still happened, draging the by far largest industrial powerhouse into the conflict which would have tipped the scales significantly in favor of the british.
    The allies with Indias vast population, the United States and Britain could probably even mobilize a force half as big as the entire German population (Population Core territory 1939) which would probably be a force as big as 25-30 million in an extreme scenario.(This does not refer to frontline soldiers, but to military personnel in the army in general) Of course these numbers could only be achieved in late 1944, early 1945 at the earliest with extreme indian and commonwealth support, but heavy British and American bombing and the subsequent obliteration of german cities and industrial centers would have deprived the german war-machine of so much valuable equipment, that with the support of the British and American Navies bombarding the shores of France, a landing might still have been possible and successful, enabling a push towards liberating france by probably close the end of 1945.
    And all of this does NOT take into account the Manhattan Project.
    Because of the "Germany First" Policy of the Allies, the first 2 nuclear bombs would most likely not have hit Hiroshima and Nagasaki, but rather Hamburg and Berlin, effectively flattening both cities completely.
    Of course as we all know, just two nuclear bombs probably would not have been enough to cause a German surrender but considering the United States did increase its arsenal in late 1945, it is likely, that a lot of important German industrial centers like Dresden or Frankfurt or the Rhur Area as well as airfields and ports would have been utterly obliterated by the end of 1945, leaving the german industrial capacity at an absolute minimum.
    The unrest that the rapid complete destruction of several cities within just a few months would have caused within the german population and the resulting desertations from the Army by soldiers who feared being hit by a nuclear warhead, and the lack of close to any reliable industrial capacity would have effectively disorganised the german frontlines to such an extent, that the allied armies would be able to break though at many fronts, paving the way for an allied entry and subsequent total defeat of Germany. Later than normal, but still inevitable.
    This scenario does not take into account that in the face of a German defeat, the Soviet Union may also attempt to gain influence and territory, declaring war on Germany.

    • @onwardtowaffles
      @onwardtowaffles Год назад

      I think the Allies would have targeted Dresden, Mannheim, and Munich before Berlin tbh.

    10:05 As you cannread in „Mein Kampf“ from Hitler the non aggression pact would never have been binding. The Axis might attacked Sweden to controll the most of scandinavia but sooner or later The soviet union or Germany would have attacked cuz both knew its just a matter of time till someone attacks so i think Germany would have attacked the soviet union a few years later then they did and might would have been succesfull

  • @ezraabbadon5082
    @ezraabbadon5082 Год назад +1

    10:10 I do think that there would have been some sort of conflict with the soviet union, simply due to the different ideologies. Perhaps a cold war. And germanys economy was pretty bad, so I see two main scenarios there: with the sort-of peace, the economy stabilizes, perhaps with a post-war boom. Or the economy collapses, causing even more internal chaos, the guerrilla fighters making it unsustainable to hold on to most of the territory and the whole thing collapses.

    To answer your question from around the 10min mark, assuming Operations Sea Lion and Barbarossa don’t happen, Germany would still likely invade the Balkans, North Africa, and possibly the Middle East. If they didn’t invade the Middle East, they would at least try to get trade agreements involving oil.

    10:00 I personally don’t think it would be over, for an assortment of reasons.
    To begin with, the British Empire had many refugees from some mainland European countries; for example: Poland, Czechoslovakia and France. These refugees, along with the vast majority of British citizens and Winston Churchill, would understandably want to get back at the Axis, especially the Third Reich, for what they have done. Being British myself hand having learnt a good amount about the Blitz, it only made us far more likely to want to fight the Third Reich; in fact, somehow, it largely increased our stubbornness and will to fight back. Therefore, I feel that we would’ve gone on the attack if the Axis had stopped. As well as this, there would most likely be revolutions in the Third Reich’s puppet states and annexed countries; depending on how far the revolutions could go, it’s possibly that H1tl£er would have eventually been overthrown. We also know about what happened with Mussolini in 1943, so it’s rather likely.
    12:45 For this, if I remember correctly, I think the British Empire actually contributed the most to D-Day, rather than the U.S.A. I could be wrong, but that’s what I was taught back in school.

    Terry, I need your answer on the question I'm going to ask you, which when answered will never reappear:
    Do you consider any videos touching unknown chapters and detours of history of foreign creators (I don't mean Canadian or British, but completely non-Anglo-Saxon) to be reacted to? The reason for asking is that I feel, that for quite some time you've only reacted to videos about either relatively known subject or made by popular creators.
    Is it because you have no trust in the quality of the videos by small creators unless proven by more people or is it something else?
    If yes, will it be enough if it has only subtitles or does it need to be made in English language?
    If (good quality) subtitles are enough, then I have a channel (whose couple of videos are subtitled so it'll be better as one-hit wonders), that not only talks about a certain topic, but usually also shows items connected to the told subject (and usually those items are an incentive to create a video about the topic) and has genuinely awesome conclusions.
    If you require English voiceover, then I have another channel, which is basically an expert about the interior of Soviet Union.

      Thanks for the message. I need to react to videos that viewers have seen before. My analytics show that is what people want to see. A viewer is far more likely to watch a reaction video of a video they’ve seen before than one they haven’t. It doesn’t mean I don’t watch small creators. I watch those on my own time. Eh sorry, but Germany did not invade the Rhineland. That was already part of Germany. What they did was remilitarise it, because one of the stipulations of the treaty of Versailles was that Germany was not allowed to have a military presensse there (since it borderes France, Luxenburg and Belgium).
    You are correct thoug that Austria, and Czechoslovakia got annexed before Poland happened. I would contest though that UK and France had a lot of options to opose that given the combination of the opinion of their own populations, plotical climate and the state of their respective military (it's not as if either of them were sparred the Great Depression ...). To many people just assume Nevvile Chamberlain could just have prevented WW2 by being more firm in Munich. Well he was as firm as his best military advisers adviced him to be, because no branch of UK's military was anywhere near done with rearmament. Nor was even his own political party ready to go to war (let alone the oposition or population).
    Nazi Germany would always have attacked the USSR. Because they were Nazis it was their whole wolrd view. But let's go with your scenario Italy and Germany are the "masters of europe" and just stop there. They still have to compete with the UK blockade. I don't see them winning in Afrika either. Yes they would have more material to invest there, but they would still have an next to impossible task to get said material there over the UK controlled Mediterenian Sea.
    So ultimatley they would be extremly dependend on Stalin supplying them with Oil, Food and other resources. And the USSR can just watch two of their adversaries (the British and Germany) bleeding each other dry.

    Definitely light on information and strict accuracy, but mildly fun for the parts I could make out. It's probably a lot better for those with good auditory discrimination, but sadly, I need closed captioning and the auto-generated ones on their channel didn't hold up any better than my ears.
    I do want to point out while we're nitpicking about weapons shown a few years before they were ready (both the nukes and the AK 47s), the treatment of Germany at the end of WW1 wasn't as bad as other countries got in the same war, nor particularly bad compared to other wars. It was held up as some horrible thing by the same nutjob who blamed it on an ethnic minority he hated. What created the problem with Germany's economy was the Great Depression and the not-so-great German government mismanaging what was left of its economy after losing the previous war. Yes, the industrial heart of Germany getting effectively cut off by the treaty was a blow to their ability to rebuild, but again, others pulled off moderate recoveries with less. It wasn't the treaty that had German marks being used for kindling. But even if it were the treaty, the US had intervened repeatedly to give Germany every reasonable break.
    If anything, the treaty is given too much focus. It's an easy connecting thread that's less to teach than the true complex web of dominoes that brought us from WW1 to WW2, but I think it's oversimplified to the point of being problematic past about high school level.

    I would say if your looking for good country humans content on RUclips I would recommend Chosen Tragedy and Moony for having the more serious and also having the funny meme content at the same time. If you just want cool animations and the memes I would say Torriku Sotaru and ChefGatsby are good ones. I would also like to recommend Oh lol u. I will warn though her content dose have shipping but fouces more on the deep and complicated history of these country's. Its a lot more about telling a genuine story with complex relationships (not just romantic relationship but family and friends too) along with some meme stuff on the side. All of these creator's make amazing art and I would highly recommend them all

    If it stopped at the 40s Russia would of invaded most of Asia because of the donation russia wanted over Europe, Germany would own most of Europe so then Russia would invade most of Asia (only 10 and like learning about history) and soviet union would still be here

    There is a house in New Orleans they call the rising sun, and it's been a ruin for many a poor boy, and God, I know I'm one. My mother was a tailor, she sewed my new blue jeans. My father was a gambling man down in New Orleans. Now, the only thing a gambler needs is a suitcase and a trunk, and the only time he's satisfied is when he's all drunk. Oh, mother. Tell your children not to what I have done. Spend your lives in sin and misery in the house of the rising sun. I've got one foot on the platform, the other foot on the train. I'm going back to New Orleans to wear that ball and chain. Well, there is a house in New Orleans they call the rising sun. It's been a ruin for many a poor boy, and God, I know I'm one.

    I strongly object to the creator of the video (not Mr Terry, the animator)r. Even though they did the animation, the audio was straight copied from History Bombs. I checked the original, and they did credit History Bombs for audio, they didn't link either the video or the channel.
