How good was Hatem Ben Arfa actually? #GOAT
New video about one of the most controversial and naturally talented players we've seen over the 2000's in football. In this episode we take on Hatem Ben Arfa who played for PSG, Rennes, Lyon, Marseille and Newcastle for most of his career.

True, but he could have played for the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern and earned 10 times more. If he had any brains that is. I saw a game when he was subbed in 13th minute or something because he just let guy run across him and score. He never played a single minute after that. It was the mighty Hull City I believe.
The guy thought he was so much better than anyone else and that teamplay didnt include him. He's had a better life than most people ever will, but he most definitely wasted his talent by his own stupidity. He spent last 10 years of his career without clubs or moving on free transfers. A clear and utter waste.

I remember him playing against my team Sunderland for Newcastle. If you know English football this is the biggest Derby in England. I know you probably think I'm mad when you have man U v. Man city if you're not English or other derbies but believe me the hatred between Newcastle & Sunderland is over 400 years old we despise each other. When we play say an away Derby in Newcastle it's estimated between 250 thousand & 400 thousand people go out to the town centre to watch the game in the pubs its the same for them also no one else does this in England. Everyone goes out all day. Derby day is the biggest day of the year no matter what occasions there are. The game against us we were winning 1-0 & were the best team that day. Newcastle tried to get a goal towards the end of the game mainly through Ben Arfa. He received the ball 25 metres from goal twisted & turned so quickly he had unbelievable skills but 1 thing let him down. This one thing happened his whole career. Ben Arfa had all the skills in the world but he was a poor finisher. His goal scoring record was very poor he missed against us & we won 1-0. Which was typical of him if he scored the goals he should have. He would have been a superstar, he had all the skill a player could wish for but his finishing let him down his whole career. Take a look at his his goal scoring stats they're terrible really for such a talent. I won't lie he made us Sunderland fans very nervous when he was with the ball near our box. Ultimately though we didn't have to be.

An incredible technical talent. When you consider his upbringing you can easily file him as one of those genius footballers who was simply an impulsive sociopath. You have very little chance coming through with the very highest career results with such a mentality.

Yes, Ronaldo and Messi have a winning mentality but also had top people around them. I remember Ronaldo was so inefficient during 2003-06. But he got all the support from SAF. So did Messi from Rijkaard and Guardiola. Hatem had some mediocre people around.
