This guy scored one of the best goals I've seen.. ran half the pitch to score against one of the best teams in the world at the time... forever remembered
Long time A.C. Milan fan here, and I can tell you that Pato is, without any doubt, the biggest regret in recent years. The reasons for his downfall are too many to count, but if I should make a quicklist, I'd say: 1) A.C. Milan medical staff. If you compare his phisique when he arrived and when he left Milan, it's bonkers. He arrived as a really thin boy, who ran in an awkward way, he left as a bona-fide body builder, with exaggerated uppertorso muscles. Daniele Tognaccini (head of Milan medical staff) also bragged about his transformation. This inevitably put exaggerate stress on his leg muscles, and combined with the poor quality of the SerieA fields, lead to the spiral of continous injuries described in the video 2) In the great scheme of things, he was always sacrified on the pitch to allow other players play in their favorite position. He played as a Second Striker behind Inzaghi with Kakà on his side. He then played as a Right Wing to allow Ronaldinho play Left Wing and Borriello play as Forward. He played an undefined role with Ibrahimovic and Robinho (Boateng) under Allegri. He never had the chance to play in his own proper role, and still had an amazing goal/minute ratio, which just testifies the great talent he had 3) Pato's own poor life choices. He wed Sthefany Brito in 2009 just after arriving in Milan. He divorced her right after in 2010, and being exposed to the likes of Ronaldinho and Robinho, not exactly the most professional players of all times, he became a partyboy. The fling with Barbara Berlusconi was just the cherry on top, but at that point in time it was already clear he had lost most of his love for football Honestly, to this day, it still hurts that it ended that bad ...
i like your analysis from the perspective of a fan who had insight into some of the things that went on--I just hope that regardless of this, that he has financial stability with the money he made through this times

He's playing for Orlando City now I just hope he will stay healthy and show his talent,if not for so many injury's he would have been the next Ronaldo of Brasil.

His problems are not injury related. He played really well in many ocasions after the injury. He just couldn't care less. Pato enjoys the catwalk, billionaires and instagram. He stopped caring for football since his first injuries.
@@beaconing7689 Yeah. But he is the most annoying of all. The talent this son of a pitch have is way too big so that he can sign contract after contract without having to show 25% of what he can play since age 20. São Paulo supporter here. His time at São Paulo was really good, along with Kaká, Luis Fabiano, Rogério Ceni(the greatest scorer while being a goalkeeper). We got the second place on Brasileirão, but still Pato looked like he was coming back to shape. Unfortunately, he didn't belong to São Paulo, so was sent back to Corinthians. In 2019, Pato came back from China to São Paulo, together with Hernanes(the one who played for Lazio). Both of them never succeded in getting back in form due to the long time on China League. He also got married to the daughter of one of the most powerful man in Brazil, Silvio Santos. At that time, not getting many minutes at the pitch, decided to resign from São Paulo, saving us about 13 million reais(2 million euros) from sallaries. I have a fond memory of Pato, he is really talented, no doubt about that, but one time he said: -My dream is to have my foot stamped in the Walk of Fame. At this moment, I realized that Pato 'll never be able to play football at high level again.

It seems so tragic that so much pressure can be put on such young people. What choice do they have except to crumble? As an American and a fan of MLS I hope he's found a home here.
That goal against Barcelona. He could have easily been succesful in the premier league where they go for attacking football instead of a tactical defensive Italian football. It was too late when Chelsea bought him.
When he joined Milan, he had the physique of a normal teenager. But as he grew up, I think the issue was a mixture of him bulking up but also could well be the case of that muscle just being weak to deal with the rigours of 3 matches a week. I think he bulked up too quick. I loved just how effortless his movement was when he joined. Just used to glide past the opposition like they weren't there. The season we won the scudetto under allegri, he performed really well with Ibra and Robinho. Robinho for one was utterly horrific in front of goal. He scored 15 goals, but he should've scored at least 30. I don't blame him so much for the partying because if you're young, rich and injured, what do you do? You go out.
Robinho, Rivaldo and Ronaldinho indeed did enjoy partying, Pato didn't but well, you could tell he instead enjoyed the fame and spotlight, also popularity despite still worked hard to reach his best. So, at the very least, he still had listened to Ronaldo on that regard.
Matheu Flamini and Alex Pato and Gudjohnson all have one thing in common. They used their high salaries to make solid investments and became rich enough to buy football clubs. FYI, Pato is worth more than 100 million dollars because of great investment So is Flamini(billionaire) and Gudjohnson (made money from gambling) So real question is , is he really a failure ? I dont think so...
Great video. My only complaint is that there were ads every 90 seconds when watching this, which upset the flow of the video, and it was the same advert every time. You need to cut down on the amount of ads shown, as that's almost 15 adverts, for this 20-minute video. Just ludicrous
His story is one of the saddest losses in futbol history, a promise of what could have been but never came to be, it was amazing to see him play, i have always thought that Ronaldo was scared of his potential and how he could have been eclipsed by Pato, the Brazil of today would be unstoppable if he had been allowed to play with Neymar, a real shame. It just proves that futbol is like a mafia, with very little people actually having the players best interest in mind when compared to the money getting made, pato is just another huge lost for his beautiful sport, RIP alongside Bojan.
Yep totally. But Ronaldinho to me is the saddest story. He did it to himself. But he proved he could have been the greatest and then decided partying was more important. Would have loved to have seen him and Messi in the same team at the top
Ronaldinho was one of the greatest but to be fair, he enjoyed football too much that, at one point, he forgot that it's not just about games and fun, lol.
I wonder why no one talks about the real meaning of "injuries". The forced rotation tactics, for such uncontrollable talented Goalscorers..who make it hard for the gambling business world. Look how Borussia Dortmund has taken away the twinkle shine of Haaland.💔.
The panenka was against one of best goalie of all time: Dida! It was so ridiculous and nonsense, that any club of entire world would be outrageous of that shot. Basically he passed the ball to Dida's hands in the last crucial shot of penalty decision.
Not every player has the motivation and desire to reach and then stay at the very top. Some lose some of it once they achieve a certain level and financial security.
Very nice video… But pato himself is to be blamed for his fading … i know injuries are part of it. But why didn’t he sign for any European club after ac. He could’ve came to premier league to a mod table club and maintained his relevance

Everyone knows AC Milan has a terrible time with injuries, it’s the whole reason why they are out of the UCL and the reason they didn’t win the scudetto last year, and will probably be the reason why they won’t win it this year too
@@EdwardElfigo yet MilanLab was highly successful during this period with reducing injuries to players and prolonging their careers. I think the main issue is that Pato didn't take care of his body. He wasn't professional enough.
@@EdwardElfigo and once Milan Lab was cancelled and Meerseman was fired the club was plagued with injuries...
@@EdwardElfigo AC Milan won Scudetto this year.
@@teasellermodi5897 because they stopped getting injuries
There are a lot of players throughout history that had huge talent, potential for top 5 in the world, but never achieved even half of that. Pato is just one in a long list with players like Adriano, Robinho, Saviola, Dani, Fabio Paim, Lucian Sanmartean
Quaresma
when you grow up, watching all these legends play in the 80's 90's and early 00's you only remember and learn their all time highs as a kid because no one talks about what happens to then when they fall , how or why, at least here where i live, and i never learned anything about all these players i adored as a kid, the reason i LOVE this channel and you sir, is because you fill all these blanks, and questions i had for a couple of decades now. you are awesome PLEASE keep doing what you are doing im so happy i found your channel.
Hi! I posted recently a video about the story of Ronaldo Nazario (R9) and his career. If you want to see how injuries killed an amazing career, the video is up here: ruclips.net/video/e73CDHYmZC4/видео.html
Outstanding job, keep it going like that. I always felt bad for players who never get their full potential.
Can you do one about Sadio mane please more people need to hear his story especially since he has just won afcon
AC Milan Cult Legend, a FIFA Legend and the one who is the biggest "What If Pato was never injured"
This guy used to average a goal every game for AC Milan. It was a thrill to watch him in red and black. Such a sad fate in the end for such a talented player.
He's playing for Orlando City now I just hope he will stay healthy and show his talent,if not for so many injury's he would have been the next Ronaldo of Brasil.
Yes. Might go to a game just to go see him.
Pato was my childhood Haaland/Mbappe
Literally haha dude was suppose to be the chosen one
Pato & Balotelli (that 2012 EURO run)!
@@Unknownflag10 He almost was one of those until Milan made him gain too much weight.
For me, it was Kaka, basically my childhood CR7/Messi.
Can you please do a video on how good was Sócrates
🇧🇷
Yes!
And Zico
@@gmain1977 he has already done a video on Zico 🇧🇷 1 year ago
Pato vs Barcelona, in 24 seconds. Thanks for the memories.
I wished, he didn’t have such bad injuries, he showed his full potential that day.
Your storytelling is powerful
I still remember when he scorched Barcelona with his speed in the opening minutes.
Thanks again for another great video. From a Jamaican living in USA 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Same
always loved the fella, brilliant striker...modelled in R9's form and some bit of Kaka. injuries really did him bad...there's a recurring thing about Brazilians and injuries, more so in MIlan...R9..remember?
His problems are not injury related. He played really well in many ocasions after the injury. He just couldn't care less.
Pato enjoys the catwalk, billionaires and instagram. He stopped caring for football since his first injuries.
Its always the same case with Brazilian players, party fame women etc
@@beaconing7689 Yeah. But he is the most annoying of all. The talent this son of a pitch have is way too big so that he can sign contract after contract without having to show 25% of what he can play since age 20.
By getting close to Silvio Berlusconi and his daughter in Italy, he developed new goals in life. Now in Brazil he dates the daughter of Brazil's Berlusconi. He is hated by most supporters of all clubs, as a mercenary. All his interviews are bland, and he still sounds like an airhead spoiled teen who have never faced any difficulties in life.
if this video is not lying its the injuries there is no way a medical staff could be so stupid for him to keep getting injured like this any athlete knows that coming back from injuries are difficult however managed correctly you can over come them but for the same body part to keep getting injured says alot about the medical team
@@Guizambaldi personality wise keep getting worst huh ?
@@beaconing7689 right,
I can’t stand them
Honestly there are so many young Brazilians who could've ended up as best in the world but most end up egotistical and non hardworking after quick success thats the difference between a talent and hardwork!
To many to list. Then you have the ones like Ronaldinho who did make it to the top and then lacked discipline to stay there. Such a shame he could have easily been the greatest of all time
Well, he was injured many times. That's why. I remember Del Bosque saying that Macca could've been the best player in the world but the injuries stopped him.
Injuries stops anyone
So many great young Brazilian talents always burn out either because of injuries or because of the party lifestyle
TRUTH!!
It's sad he couldn't show his full potential
At this moment, I realized that Pato 'll never be able to play football at high level again.
sound like spoiled teenagers
Corinthians
Pato is finished completely.
He had lost his love of football, or maybe it's because football had betrayed his trust.
He helped my team at our Club World Cup title. We're always gonna love him lol
Btw, he was old enough to vote. In Brazil you can vote at 16
I saw him on FIFA 08..
And everytime I play manager mode ,I Buy him..
His rating is similar to messi....
Then I read about him..it was unfortunate...
Only if he had chosen praying with Kaka instead of flipping playboy magazine with Ronaldo.
Great video keep it up and could you pls do r9 he's my favourite player
Thank you, Pato for the joy and excitement you gave me and the great goals and unreal skill you showed. Brief but fantastic!!
I did this channel anyway! I think this blokes accent make the stories a little bit better. A easy listernin voice new and its a bonus. Gday all from Melbourne 👊
Dude brazil had so many stars that could’ve been in the same level as Messi and Cristiano but always get forgotten or their European careers get cut short. Like kaka, pato, oscar, ronaldinho…
I used to watch Pato with such joy. He was one of my favourite players in Ac Milan back then. Sad to see him this way!
Kaka, Marcelo, Robinho, Neymar, Pato, Vinicius, Rodrygo, David Neres, Antony... Brazil just keeps churning out these world-class players! I must visit that country in my lifetime to see the machine that produces such players!
Rodrygo, neres world class 🤣🤣keep dreaming pal neres is playing in Russia after peaking in Holland so far from world class and rodrygo has done FA as a player to be labelled world class

@@timsmith1323 Rodrygo just won La Liga and UCL. His time coming soon. It's just a beginning. I don't know about Neres.
@@teasellermodi5897 That doesn’t make him world class though it just means he’s in a very good team 🤦♂️come on you can’t seriously think rodrygo is world class he’s looked ok at times this season but he’s still very inconsistent and neres is playing in Ukraine not for a top top team which he’d have moved to if he was world class instead only shakhtar were interested in him
I love this guy’s voice it is so smooth. It's like listening to meditation.
He had the potential to win the majority of Balon d'Or and FIFA The Best that Messi and Ronaldo actually won.
Dam no lie he was my favorite player when I started to be a fan of Ac Milan!! Breaks my heart that he never reached his potential!!!
This is so sad to see, he was a genuine great player
It seems so tragic that so much pressure can be put on such young people. What choice do they have except to crumble? As an American and a fan of MLS I hope he's found a home here.
The problem with talented footballers is that they party too much 😕
That goal against Barcelona. He could have easily been succesful in the premier league where they go for attacking football instead of a tactical defensive Italian football. It was too late when Chelsea bought him.
Your videos are really good especially the details you go into I really enjoy them
So sad for Pato I’m respect a talent like him regardless about his personality
great video, brings back all the good memories.
You go out.
last point sound like lack of professionalism and discipline
Robinho, Rivaldo and Ronaldinho indeed did enjoy partying, Pato didn't but well, you could tell he instead enjoyed the fame and spotlight, also popularity despite still worked hard to reach his best. So, at the very least, he still had listened to Ronaldo on that regard.
best football player documentaries on youtube no cap 💯💯 keep up the good work
Matheu Flamini and Alex Pato and Gudjohnson all have one thing in common.
They used their high salaries to make solid investments and became rich enough to buy football clubs.
FYI, Pato is worth more than 100 million dollars because of great investment
So is Flamini(billionaire) and Gudjohnson (made money from gambling)
So real question is , is he really a failure ? I dont think so...
He’s a football failure. That’s the only important thing to the fans.
As a footballer, he is failure defenetely.
Love from Zimbabwe 🇿🇼 I really enjoy these videos, Keep them coming.
Lol imagine trying to blame a 3x Player of the year 2x Ballon D’Or winner and arguably best player ever for Plato’s downfall FOH!
Amazing upload 🔥❤️
Video been up for like 2 minutes lol
His an absolute banga for Brazil on fifa 12-13
Very underrated channel
"I really fear as to how good he might become" - Fiery words !
Great video. My only complaint is that there were ads every 90 seconds when watching this, which upset the flow of the video, and it was the same advert every time. You need to cut down on the amount of ads shown, as that's almost 15 adverts, for this 20-minute video. Just ludicrous
How can he miss 6 weeks in 1 month?😅
Magic 😲.
Hahahahahaha exaggeration
He’s that talented
He's that bad
Iam now conviced that your documentaries are one of the best and have subscribed to yr channel.
Paper Pato 🙌🏾 , the goat 🐐 that Never was
Your voice and the video is really nice ❤️❤️❤️🔥 love it
thank you so much man
wish he continued impressing. its a shame.😦
Pato will always be seen as one of the world best players.
No!
I remember that '07 U20 WC in Canada... him, Dos Santos, and Edu looked unreal.
Such amazing talent that was never fully released on the football World
I will always love this man.
Amazing Video!!! You should make about Lucas Moura too!
Nice work rely liked the video
Great channel meu amigo 🔥
Never knew he was this talented 😲😲
Very nice video…
But pato himself is to be blamed for his fading … i know injuries are part of it. But why didn’t he sign for any European club after ac. He could’ve came to premier league to a mod table club and maintained his relevance
He did Chelsea
I remember playing manager mode in fifa 09.I always bought him for the club i used yo manage.I am shocked to what he has become now due to his injuries
this video made me tears! such a talent he was and also my childhood!!!
Pity he did not achieve his dreams, but at least he got the chance to join one of the best football clubs in the world and has been part of the Brazil national team.
Thank you for this video, no sugarcoating, only facts.
Finally is Saturday 🥰🙌🙌🙌
Belize central america I'm from and & I'm a real Madrid fan but i remember Pato in his prime he was a legend!!✌🏽🙏🌎☮️
His Flashback SBC is one of the best STs this year 🤷🏻♂️
