Saab Ross I e recently bought an 93 aero 6 speed and it appears to be leaking oil around the bell housing, would seals cause this effect? Seems to be wet the whole way round, and it only drips whilst engine running, thanks
Did you notice increased engine vibration on idle while these seales were leaky. My hypothesis is that the leaking oil gets smeared on serpentine belt and causes it slip occasionally giving different load on engine. I am wondering if this is a case.
Wow you make this look easy I might have to try it out some day very soon but hope not might be a oil pipe of some sort? What sort of bearing is it I need to put this in with is it a wheel one and do you know a size estimate thanks subed

Yes probly the rear seal that leaks. And the clutch/dualmassflywheel swings the oil around and making the mess. You have to remove the gearbox to change the real crank seal
Indeed it can, if oil level gets too low bc of this leak. I had a car flash an oil light upon cornering due to a bad seal. Replace, fill oil to right level. And presto. If oil level is good you may wanna look into dropping the pan and cleaning the sump.
Bro did this with one hand. The thumbs up at the end though lmao
Thank you, but why didn't you replace the oil pump oring too, if you were already changing the crankshaft seal?
Exactly

I'd avoid this method. Not a fan of metal hammers and screwdrivers hitting the crankshaft! Take it all out and do it properly, plus the big O-ring.
true
What kind of grease did you put on the crank seal?

I got a Saab 9-5 linear 2005 and I cannot find that release catch to put the bar into mate where else could it be ? If it’s not on the alternator
Hi pls I want to know the number of the seal
What’s the part number of that seal?
many thanks for this!

Do you have to drain the oil before changing the crank seal?
No oil was drained before. but after the change it was changed, just incase debrie got in. and it was time to change :)
Hey, could this cause low oil pressure if it starts to leak?
