For me that’s a combo of my “snaggiest” rig and my “most likely to break off” rig. I may try it but I’ll have to wait for a day I’m patient enough for all the break offs and re tying I’ll be doing. 😂
I finally fished a ned rig it was the 4" and they were killing it only 1lb to 11/2 lb but it finally worked in my lake. Thanks for the vids we appreciate them
Killing it!!! I saw Todd doing this last week, I still have not attempted the drop shot yet, but i might skip it and go straight to the drop dead (Fred) Ned!!
I love doing this! I catch more fish on the Ned too. For deeper water like 30+ feet for smallmouth in winter, you can use a 3/4 ounce hula grub with 2 drop shot baits! Or even a Ned rig with 2 drop shot baits. Do it all the time up here in Washington for some winter smallies!
Why am I just seeing this now?! The same concept is used in fly fishing with a dual fly setup, but never though of a dead-ned setup... You have to name the combo as the Deadly-Savage-Chart 🤣
I do a lot of shore fishing for perch. Use the Two Hook Bottom rig a lot. Since I have access to ocean and resovoir fishing here in So Cal, I made this exact rig last year. Since I fish Castaic Lake, I called it the Castaic rig. My results: it snags a lot. If you are casting from shore and want to get a longer cast, sometimes the two rigs tangle. It does work. Problem is: since it's two finesse rigs, if you typically use 6lb test, you instantly have to move up to a minimum of 8 or even 10...you lose some of that sensitivity. I first tried Roboworm Aaron's Magic straight tail and Ned worm...those were actually good results (if you somehow hook 2, you're losing the entire rig). I tried lots of combos...sinko drop/creature pinned Texas rig. Swim bait/Ned. You name it. Better to use a bed or drop or free rig
I live in WA and my girlfriend and I are spending 5 days fishing and camping for birthday here in June and I'm most definitely going to give that rig a try. Wish me luck!
The drop shot has become one of my top 3 rigs for Bass. Definitely worth committing to it. I used to cast once or twice and just toss away. The one time I committed to it, it annihilated Bass left amd right. I don't leave home without it.
Dude I'm definitely trying that rig next time I go out. That would be perfect for the type of water I fish. That's awesome!!! Love your vids bro. Your one of the few people I still watch regularly
Just tried this rig out on pomme de terre lake and really enjoyed throwing it and caught a few but it seemed like they all liked the ned rig for me more than the drop shot that day
I'm new to both the drop shot and ned rig. What strength line did you use and size of hook for drop shot? Definitely want to try it! Thanks Burly! Good video!
That’s an absolutely amazing idea! I freakin love it!! I’m definitely gonna try it. By the way I’ll take that reel if you feel like getting rid of it and being generous. lol
Honestly never heard of this. I thought about it yesterday and lost a monster. Broke off trying to flip on to shore with 8lb test. Tried it again today landed 2 3lbers. Thought I was a genius but apparently its been around for a bit Lol
Mr. Burly - I know you have tried a lot of ned jig heads by now. What do you think is your favorite and most reliable ned jig head (both weedless and open hook)?
You know I am all about that bass 😂🔥 bass fishing is my favourite I HAVE A CHANNEL as well it is so fun too do but I am just 15 years old so I won’t get famous or anything like you
If you love the ned rig, you're going to love this one! Let me know if you give it a try!
I love drop shots they always work usually so thats a great idea. Double the chance rite. Thanks God Bless and tight lines bro
I’ll be testing it out on Monday. Looks like a game changer.
Nice, you went with my name. Drop Dead Ned! :)
Woooo!!!

Me and my 11YO boy pressed pause and just sat there in awe of this hack. We gonna do it on our next trip to the pond. Great vid!!!
NICE! I hope it works for you!

Boooooooooom Baby!!! Drop Dead all the way!!!
🤙🏼
💯💯💯💯

It's a good way to see what colour they're biting & if they prefer creature or swim baits
Exactly what I was thinking!
Never would’ve thought of this, but now definitely going to try it lol... might be a real game changer for bed fishing 🤔
That’s a very interesting rig that I’m definitely going to have to try. Thanks for sharing that secret set up with us. Tight lines my dude🎣🎣
Drop shot undefeated forsure
Used the neds and small shakey heads for the weight, killer
I've been having good luck on purple baits so far this season too. And the morning dawn color as well
Did burley just hold that first bass with his feet? Savage
Lol

I gotta get some of those goby plastics too. I think they will kill it here

Let me know how it goes! Good luck!
Two of my favorite rigs. I can't wait to try this out!
LOL pretty cool rig I'm definately gonna try it here in Texas ! Should do great for me on the banks.
Surprised no one else is talking about this. I’ve been doing it for a while and never heard anyone else mention it.!
Have all the stuff for a ned rig, just haven’t gotten those confident bites, your always slayin on the ned Burly Bro 🍺🍻🍺
Ahh. The drop dead ned!
Gonna be a good night with a burly video and a beer.
🙌🍻

Great video very interesting bro👏👏
Very sweet rig can't wait to try
Looking forward to trying it at one of my favorite spots when it starts warming up.

Thanks!
100% will try this at lunch tomorrow. The place I'm going has been hot for the drop shot, and very little grass so I'm sure the ned will work as well
Nice 🤙
Sooooo, did it work?
Very cool concept. I think I’ll try it🙂
Just tried this rig out on pomme de terre lake and really enjoyed throwing it and caught a few but it seemed like they all liked the ned rig for me more than the drop shot that day
I honestly only like using the nesting on a boat or kayak because it’s not always easy to know where to cast it
I'm new to both the drop shot and ned rig. What strength line did you use and size of hook for drop shot? Definitely want to try it! Thanks Burly! Good video!
1/0 or smaller on the hook for drop is ideal, and I was running 12 lb fluorocarbon leader
It's just like the Michigan rig used during ice fishing
Yup! We’ve been calling that the doubledropper and using it too!
What happens when the two best finesse rigs mix this video
That’s an absolutely amazing idea! I freakin love it!! I’m definitely gonna try it.
By the way I’ll take that reel if you feel like getting rid of it and being generous. lol
Pretty cool rig. I’m thinking the smallmouth spawn on LSC with that goby plastic.
10 out of 10 would smash
Dang bro there’s other people that do that as well. It’s definitely a good set up 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🤙
Honestly never heard of this. I thought about it yesterday and lost a monster. Broke off trying to flip on to shore with 8lb test. Tried it again today landed 2 3lbers. Thought I was a genius but apparently its been around for a bit
Lol
As a non boating/kayaking angler, I highly doubt I would throw that. That said, I wouldn't rule it out.
Mr. Burly - I know you have tried a lot of ned jig heads by now. What do you think is your favorite and most reliable ned jig head (both weedless and open hook)?
Super k, owner ewg, zman
@@aaanglers Thanks! Have you used the "Lifted Jigs EWG heads"? Are they worth the cost?
@@toddlester8063 I have used them. I like the owner or zman ewg better.
Does he show how he ties it?
Palomar knot the hook and tie the ned to the bottom instead of a drop shot weight
Interesting
12:00 was that a fosh tank fish?
A what now???
Fish tank fish.
Like what? Not sure fish tank fish live in my lake lol. Unless you mean a cichlid. It was a tiny bass.
@@aaanglers timy bass is what I meant. I have a huge fish tank.
@@karlwild4015 oh haha, yup future 10 pounder, good for the tank for sure
Why were you setting the hook like Mean Joe Greene?
Cuz i felt like it
Drop dead ned is going to confuse some of the younger viewers.
