you my freind are a hoot i just found your vids this week i retired out of the biz 3 yrs ago now and i moved to new mex and im tooling up soon on my last forever home for the new wife, you only live once and you have keystone girl
I like it! I saw you on Hometown Acres and got hooked. Thanks for some good content, funny too. And of course, I'm a man so I enjoyed the addition to your team! Keep up the good work!
That's a heck of a nice storage space to have. I should have called you last fall when i started my basement. I guess the whole "me not knowing you then" thing may have been an issue ha
With an assistant like that I'd find it hard to concentrate too! Nice build and attention to detail. Question: After a couple of decades as a Builder / Engineer, I don't understand why you doubled the ledger at the posts on the outside wall? Appears the 1st ply is toe nailed into the post = No structural value as a ledger. Are there L brackets you installed first or some type of support below that I didn't see? Otherwise it's a waste of material & the load is all carried on the 2nd, inner, ply. Minor pet peeve....Please use "Plumb" when referring to vertical, not Level. Clean build and the ladder blocking in the wall under the truss is a detail often missed. Enjoying your videos, keep them coming!
Ya she is distracting for sure. I glued and screwed that 2x to the ledger on that outside wall. I know its not technically carrying the load but i did that to add strength to the ledger board. Should help with some of the live load. Ill likely add a bracket there as well.
OCD in you is strong 😅. I knew you were going to gut it haha. Hope you live close to the hardware store and the dump lol 😂 Keystone girl is back 😍 but without a keystone 😢 lol Keep the videos rolling. Cheers bud.
Hangers easier measure and put on before perimeter is put up, then slide joists up an in. (Broke hand while "helping" hold up joists and waiting for "nailer" to secure it).
I like to do it after because the 2x heights are inconsistent. Some up to a 1/4 inch. So i match all the tops on the joists so the floor is flat and then install the hangars. Just the way i prefer to do it.
I did use joist hangers. I like to put them on after because the 2x’s are always different heights. You can see them at the end of the video. I think i mentions it too
Better outfit in Part 2 for Keystone. Great work
Looks like Termite treatment is very important for the whole building and some mice proofing!
Skills are on point and the comedy aspect makes it priceless. Keep up the great work, looking forward to the next build video!
Thanks! I appreciate that.
the slapstick humor as well as the self jabbing jokes and the editing tricks really do take me back to the time of olden youtube.
keep em comming!
You really are one talented dude! Great build and again, I can’t turn away from watching because I’m not sure what I will miss. Fun and funny stuff!
Don’t blink an “eye” either

1.5in foam board has an R-value of 9.3. I'm using it in my shed office.
Nicely done. 👍🍻
Nice job dude. Lots of great tips
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it.
Another great SD video 😊

Thanks. Its coming around. Building it was fun. The organizing sucks.
@@SpicerDesignsLLC True, but think about the end game. More room for more sh!t.
Very cool video. Taking a break from assembling my crossfire pro and saw this pop up. Can't wait to get it going.
Thanks! If you have an questions feel free to reach out. My email is in the about section on the channel.

Great job, you make it look so easy.
Thanks Bob! Hope everything is going well for you up in PA. Ill be heading that way in August.
😂😊Nicely done! I would hate to see the lumber receipt!💪👊🚜
It wasnt as bad as i thought it was going to be. Still expensive though.
Good times. Nice loft should be plenty sturdy eh spicer ?
Oh ya! Beefy
I love a platform with all the “Beef”. My fav
How high do your ceilings have to be to build a loft?
My ceiling that barn is only 10’. So the loft is into the trusses a bit. Its just for storage though

Good informative video. Wish u woulda included more tech info, joist span and weight capcity
LMAO that was awesome. And you do your own stunts.
Hah. Ya im basically Tom Cruise.
@@SpicerDesignsLLC Took the words right out of my mouth.
Damn! OCD a little? haha .... You went through a lot of work just to plumb out the wall ... props my friend
Ya i have a problem.
Fun Fun Video!
Thanks. We try to keep the videos somewhat entertaining
Now that you’re finished, one side of joist hanger first, then joist. 😅

Ya OCD is a bit of a problem. Dont worry, Keystones were definitely consumed during that build. Cheers buddy

Is it just me or does it look like the board he just installed has a pretty bad warp at 8:34
I am sure that there is a reason that you did not use joycet hangers.
I did use joist hangers. I like to put them on after because the 2x’s are always different heights. You can see them at the end of the video. I think i mentions it too
So what's up with the name "Keystone Girl"?
@@revfred2008 she brings me Keystones. Been doing it since the beginning and it stuck. Also shes my wife and it helps protect her to a degree.
@@SpicerDesignsLLC That's awesome! I love the new property where about southern Indiana? Beautiful! I'm 20 miles NE of Indianapolis.
No I see the hangers.
Hah. I just responded to your other comment and then saw this one. Disregard
My wife and I were once like you two. Don't know what happened, we are divorced now. Still good friends but, divorced.
Well thats good and bad all at once. Glad you still get along. That goes a long way.
Motivation! I will start looking for an upgrade myself jkjk
