I used to install garage door openers and garage doors about 15-20 years ago. I got out of the industry just as side mount openers were becoming a thing. The worst part as an installer was there is no power at the side of the door, so we’d have to run a new outlet to the side. And the install process was a pain in the ass because of the tension monitor system. At the time there was only one company that made these named “I Drive” and they sucked. So glad to see other companies have made them nicer and easier to install.

i just got the liftmaster version installed in my shop.i have a hoist in front of the door and i cant believe i just never thought of one of these when i built the shop.i had to take care not to hit it with some vehicles over the last 5 years, what a pain.i finally bit the bullet and got one.wow, even quieter than my already belt driven units and it has a soft close feature on it that is nice as well.i wish i had them installed on all my doors when we built but that over and done with.no more worrying about hitting a truck on the opener is the greatest feature for me!
love the kioti!I have a DK35 with a full cab ,heat/ac,etc...i LOVE mine, best thing i own in my opinion.I work at a Kioti dealer so I lean that way already.

BATTERY TENDERS! Dude! You just saved me the cost of yet another new battery for my truck.
I have an always-on plug in the car that I sometimes forget to turn off, so it drains my battery out. My battery was at 0.9 the other day, so I was going to have to jump it, if I could, and then let it sit on, and then drive it around for a good hour or so to recharge the battery. Bought a battery tender (the non Jr. version), and completely revived my battery yesterday, without having to jump and drive. Thank you! Awesome addition to my kit, and for half the cost of a new battery. ♥

You didn't mention that with the MyQ app on your phone you can open and close the door with your phone and also get notices when the door is operated. Great tip on tilting the upper rails! I have two of these openers. MACHINE! So easy to install Dozer could do it. Wait a minute, did Dozer install that opener? Tell the truth...

Looking at doing one of these. Can you get a measurement from the torsion shaft centerline to the bottom of the unit? I cant find that in any of the mfg literature.

Its about 3” from the center of the shaft to the top of the opener. I think they suggest you have 6” about the drum

how tall of a door can it do? and how does it know the door is coming down since it just turns the shaft no direct attachment to the door itself?

Certain openers are capable of different size doors. Its capability is determined by door square footage. The door comes down by gravity and its set with limits. They work really well

Another good one. The slipping on the ice was unexpected…😂. I was watching @FarmCraft101 yesterday and he said machine a couple times and I was fully expecting to see him dangle from the bucket pointing at the camera with a backup “MACHINE”!
