The Belarus Pavillion is great, as it fully restored its original purpose: one can buy high-quality food products and other goods from the Republic there! 🏛
Also, the dome of the Cosmos Pavillion is very impressive from the architectural point of view, and the exposition is great! Have been there many times.

The fact is that in the early 50s, when this fountain was created, there was a small Karelian-Finnish Soviet Republic, which merged into Russia in the mid-50s on the rights of autonomy, after which 15 Soviet republics remained

“Stone flower” fountain is called after a famous fairy tale of Ural mountains region. It tells a story of a local craftsmen Danila and his bride Katerina. He dreamed to create stone flower as beautiful and delicate as real one and one day meet the mistress (spirit) of a mountain. He begs to become her student but she warns him - ones he steps into her realm there is no way back to humans. Not because she will keep him from going back, but because his soul will know no peace at home and there will always be desire to return to the mountain.

The difference is that in Florida all the buildings are decorations - and only the facades - from the back it's like a barracks. Шn Moscow, all these buildings are actually built, including marble, bronze sculptures, real mosaics and unique wall frescoes.

Hurray!!! My native park! I can see the tops of its pavilions from my windows and all summer my husband and I ride scooters 🛴here. And yet we find something new every time.
I remember this park in Soviet times, when each republic of the USSR had its own pavilion, and there were also pavilions that housed an exposition on any branch of the national economy-oil production, forestry, pig breeding, etc... My favorites were: sericulture, beekeeping, floriculture.
My brother liked the pavilion of boats and yachts🛥️⛵, and my parents liked viticulture, there were tastings of various wines.🥂
After the collapse of the USSR in the 90s, the exhibition turned into a huge store selling clothes, electronics, no one was engaged in restoration.
And now everything is almost like in my childhood-beautiful and joyful. 💕

After VDNH park u can see the Fountain of Golden Ear of Wheat and from this territory start Park Botanic Garden. Every last days in April on the territory of the Botanic Garden more people going to see Sakura’s blossom in Japan park. And near metro station Botanic Garden u can visit China Park Huamin and Business Center. Good Luck. 😊

VDNKh is truly magnificent, but it has one serious problem: its humongous size. Even walking from the nearest public transit stop to the Main Entrance is a sort of a challenge for a senior person. All this complex had been built in the times when "World's Fairs" still were popular, and it was designed as a
permanently functioning "Soviet World's Fair". You have to visit it multiple times and stay there for all day long to observe at least a major part of its territory and exhibitions. It's just enormous.

"The Stone Flower" (Russian: Каменный цветок, tr. Kamennyj tsvetok, IPA: [ˈkamʲɪnːɨj tsvʲɪˈtok]), also known as "The Flower of Stone", is a folk tale (also known as skaz) of the Ural region of Russia collected and reworked by Pavel Bazhov, and published in Literaturnaya Gazeta on 10 May 1938 and in Uralsky Sovremennik. It was later released as a part of the story collection The Malachite Box. "The Stone Flower" is considered to be one of the best stories in the collection. The story was translated from Russian into English by Alan Moray Williams in 1944, and several times after that.

I also like the green area behind and to the left of the Cosmos Pavilion. It's less crowded, and has some great attractions such as the Golden Wheat Spike fountain with a bot station, the Michurinsky Garden with more than 800 apple trees, and the new attraction - the Moebius Strip, which is quite fun to walk into, from the top it overlooks the Ostankino Park and the TV-Tower. There is also an air eco-trail there.

Hi Russell, thanks for the great review!
This is just the beginning of the park! If you go a little deeper, you'll see that VDNKh smoothly passes into the Botanical Garden, which has nice paths and ponds, various glades and expositions where you can sit and relax under the shade of trees. But that's not all!
If you go further into the Botanical Garden, it also smoothly flows into a real huge forest within the city (and continues into the Moscow region), Losiny Ostrov. In this forest there are both well-maintained paths with benches and meadows, horse clubs and other entertainment, as well as completely wild places taken by nature, like a real wild forest. It’s also fun to ride mountain bikes there. It’s pretty huge. And all this is within the borders of Moscow!
In general, if you look at the map of Moscow, a significant part of it is occupied by parks and forests, which we call the lungs of the city thanks to the trees that make the air fresher.
