This car exceeded my expectations ten times over. Even after I saw that it shared the same chassis with another car I have (which I also like a lot).
We took it to the limit on a 2s battery, then we pushed well beyond its reasonable limits with a 3s battery and all I can say is you have to see it to believe it.

You can flip the metal motor mount 180 and put an even bigger pinion on which is crazy as this is already 18T
I’ve had the SCY for awhile got 60A ESC 5900kv motor, hbx shocks and wheels, upgrade servo running dumbo rc transmitter, new metal upgraded cups. It dose 70mph and handles like a dream. By far the best 1/16 on road. Only ever ran mine 3s nothings broken, even with sand paddle on the beach!

I've seen some serious RC bashing... you take it to the next level! I can't belive how durable this little RC is. When you said you were going to jump the tree I was like "no way...". I've been looking for a inexpensive basher (a bit of fun with the kids) and this looks the goods. Question (and apologies if this has already been answered), is this the same as the ZLL SB116 Max? Yes, she has ran into a lot of hard things, like a magnet. I noticed a few good slams of the tire as she was turning. She snapped the screw off the bottom of the R steering knuckle. Now I'm just trying to learn what all I need to fix it for her. Oh, I also got the Omni Terminator for me. I've only taken it out once, but it's fun!! Thanks so much for replying, I'll be looking at the site.

I would maybe order a body (they have a few different choices but not that same “beast” color scheme), a spare differential and differential input gear, body mount posts. That’s the only issues I’ve had after all this time so far but other possible and common breaks on any RC would be axles, knuckles/hubs, and control arms. Spare wheel hexes, pins, and wheels. Over-buying gets expensive lol
Now that I think of it these wheels might be the same. Double check the measurements and tread pattern. amzn.to/3QB1mRU
That other website is usually 2-3 weeks so extra parts are not a bad thing lol

You can definitely use a 3s on stock esc if you put a 30x30 mini fan on it like I did
Good to know! Seems random on the way that some people have mentioned a blown esc quickly with 3s and other have had no issues. The fan will help either way for sure!!

Try the speed test with a full charge with the battery it came with. I got 43.3 but I wasn’t full, maybe 80 percent or so! Awesome video man now I know I can get rowdy with it!

I thought for sure you were kidding about jumping the tree, that is just completely nuts how well this thing did. It's got to have something to do with the fact that these smaller scale just don't have the weight and mass behind them when falling, even an expensive 1/10 or 1/8 scale would have snapped or bent something for sure. Sick videos my man, I've been hooked on yours specifically!

But yes this little truck is incredible and absolutely the lightweightedness is a big portion of why it’s so durable. Someone literally asked about these crashes just today and how a bigger car would compare and i absolutely believe most of them would have broken some stuff if not landed on the wheels. I bought the 16101 Pro platform, proceeded to absolutely beat the snot outta mine, then sent it into a river. Buy a new one, continue to beat the snot outta that one.
Proceed a month later, buy a Rustler Ultimate, proceed to break something EVERYTIME I RUN THE DANG THING and the temu special is still flying into tree stumps at 80kmh and laughing at it.
Definitely worth the money, specially since you can get this truck for under 50 bucks if you catch a deal on Temu or Aliexpress.

@@DerbyCityRC sir would it make sense that maybe if your 3s battery is 25c(like the one you used) it might not burn it ? But if it's let's , say more than 50c for example (since the person who commented says it worked for him on 50c) it might burn then?Does c matter or ?
@Perros1245 that is possible yes. The 50c will discharge current into the ESC quicker than a lower C rating.

Would the 16101P and the SG116 be the same? FOr parts and performance? The SG116 has 2847 motor instead of 2840. Does that make a difference? Cheers
I’m not familiar with that model, but the 2847 should be better than the 2840 as it’s a bit longer.

Max learned it so fast! He had just turned 4 when we started this. He’s about to turn 7 in two days. My current 4 year old just doesn’t have the control down yet at all. lol I have to give him the slow cars and still then them down. Lol

That platform is crazy and surprisingly strong! I have the jeep version, it the one my daughter ran over with her atv (real atv, not a power wheel or anything lol) and dragged while it was wedged up under it lol. the only damage was a small crease in the body. Unreal man!

I haven’t looked into which esc is best yet. To be honest it’s so freakin fast we do just keep it on 2s all the time lol
I’d go with a 45 amp or higher and then try to find one with similar dimensions so it fits easier. Then the other important thing is that the motor connectors are the same size. Then you need a new transmitter and receiver 🤣😅

When you said over that tree I was like, "nah man, not gonna happen without that thing going off like a nuke" then you do it numerous times, including crashing down on that drain, and the car is still fine. Like HOW??
Haha! Alot if people have said that. I’m seriously surprised too. I did that jump 8 times, alo my with a few other smaller ones. It’s my new favorite 1/16- 1/14 scale.

Dang dude , I went to two hobby stores in my area today and all they had was traxxas and traxxas parts . I looked at the builds and they were lacking for what they came with , many of them , and the whole thing is a like a big setup to keep coming back for upgrades or parts . Then I looked at arrma amd it seems to me there’s more value for dollar .
what 3s lipo battery did you use?
Recommend a different tire set up or is the stock good enough?
The stocks are actually pretty decent for the size of the car. I am working on an upgrade video trying out some better tires but the difference isn’t as great a si thought it would be.
Same here, I tried a couple different sets but have not been very happy with the performance with heavier or larger tires. The stocks have no foam so I figured that it would make a big difference but it seems to hinder performance a bit while the stock ones maintain a bit more stability and prevent flip overs better as they allow for more drift… thought maybe you had found a better set up.
Seems like it’s pretty great out of box and maybe just an ESC upgrade if doing lots of 3s.
