But, it's a good spot for tourists, to relax and try some food and wine outside of restaurants, I still see it as a positive thing and it adds up to the city's different choices. Cheers! 🙂🍻
@@ZecaPinto1 The old building and market itself looked nice, I like visiting everything. For example in Rome it's a shame if you don't visit Trevi Fountain and Colosseum and they are tourists spots. but you don't have to eat there, right? 🙂
@AlexMarkTravel nope. The thing is that the old marketplace was restored but now due to the higher prices, only tourists and richer people go there. Before that, anyone could go because the products were cheap and the stores were open to everyone. Also, the place looked more original, with older architecture styles, now it looks more like a supermarket
@@ZecaPinto1 I don't know how it was before, and I am sorry to hear that it lost its primary purpose to be a normal market. But I agree that except the outside walls, inside looks quite plain, no character.
@AlexMarkTravel My friend, English is the international language to talk with everyone and this is normal! But when it's Portugal the people like to imitate the spanish. So why? With other countries nobody imitate if this country or language is like from his neighbour and are very interested to be very correct. With Portugal it's like "doesn't matter" and it's respectless. With spanish nobody mix something in portuguese......in this case everyone knows every detail or check it exactly before. And in your logic why someone which spanish isn't his motherlanguage , can or should speak spanish in Portugal? It's the same if I go to your country, I'm talking in portuguese and you should understand me🤣. Then I answer like you:"So it means I can't talk in english too?"🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 You are funny. In Portugal our language it's portuguese, if you don't like, it's your problem.
@@ricardorodrigues5964 I like Portuguese, but I can't speak it, but I speak some basic Spanish, so by default, I use some Spanish words, or if I read something I read it in Spanish, because I don't have a clue how to read/pronounce it in Portuguese! 😅 But I understand your frustration with this, so for the next time, I will try to learn some Portuguese, or at least the reading. 🍻
@AlexMarkTravel If someone is serious and interested for something, it's easy to check by internet. In our digital time everyone has the all informations. Except if someone don't want! It's not understandable to connect something portuguese with spanish in reading, speaking etc. . You mix italian with spanish too? German with dutch? Or with other languages which are similar? Almost every language in Europe is similar and everybody respect everyone of it. And with portuguese it's usual to be treated not serious with respect, so why? Portugal is not spain! Languages can be similar, but similar it's not the same. They are Different!!! You and nobody can change the reality. Your explanation about "I don't know portuguese" is without any sense and it's not a reason to substitute something in something spanish. You talk about Portugal and language without to be sure!? Check it before! It's ridiculous! Thank goodness you and nobody can't change facts.
I am from Porto and as a connoisseur, i know some places that will serve you a BAD( i mean, NOT GOOD, small, not tasty and expensive!!) francesinha, never to return there; in fact we only kn ow 2 places that serve EXCELLENT francesinha for 20 euros for 2 (10 euros a piece), we go there, me and the wife every week, wife is addicted LOL; these are modest Cafés on the outskirts, in Maia, just off the Porto mainstream; if you go to Tourist areas, you eat less and pay more, avoid; the Sweets, BOLOS!!!! oh, man, they are OUT OF CONTROL, TOO MUCH SUGAR, some are like poison, i need water at the same time to dilute that sugar; avoid
It's not "chorizo". In Portugal we speak portuguese, not spanish! So in portuguese it calls "chouriço"! And in the Francesinha it's not chouriço, it's a different one which calls "Linguiça". The portuguese language should be respect like with other languages . With other languages nobody mix it with an other one, so don't mix portuguese with spanish. Portuguese it's Portuguese, simple!!!!!!

You must be rich.
For 11 pastries and 4 drinks, that was an excellent price, go to some other European country and compare the prices. Cheers! 🍻
In Lisbon this would cost almost double easily. Porto is not as bad as Lisbon since majority of the tourists go there or the Algarve.
@@doctorsilva1345 Thanks for your comment, this is why I also chose Porto as my first destination in Portugal. Cheers! 🙂🍻
@@AlexMarkTravel Porto is the best place in world. You need see the history of the city. I work in lisbon but i born in Porto and people is so friendly , the food is not expensive like the "capital"... the food is amazing, super bock > sagres all days... next please you need go to COIMBRA MEALHADA TRY THE LEITÃO BABY PORK WITH PEPER. "24H No Porto" Foda-se Caralhooo. És grande, e sabes comer bem!!
Até fica paneleiro dos olhos com esta qualidade de bida e comida oub láa!
You can lose yourself eating in Porto, believe me
True to the word! 😀
Cuidado com o homem das facas!
There's an enormous epidemic called hunger among people. The more they eat the more they want to eat. They eat everything. Emptiness causes hunger!
Or as Weird Al Yankovic would say: "Just eat it!". 😊🍔
Very brave of you to call that the local marketplace.
Because the only thing you won't see there its the local inhabitants, that place is for tourists only
But, it's a good spot for tourists, to relax and try some food and wine outside of restaurants, I still see it as a positive thing and it adds up to the city's different choices. Cheers! 🙂🍻
@AlexMarkTravel so you would rather fall for tourist traps instead of visiting the local places
In Portuguese it's "bacalhau"!!!!! Bacalao it's spanish. If you want to tell the things in spanish, so you should go to spain.
Does this mean I can't tell things in English either if I am in Portugal, only in Portuguese? 😀
Then I answer like you:"So it means I can't talk in english too?"🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
You are funny.
That's really not the best francesinha in Porto
I never said it was the best, but "officially the best", cheers! 😊🍻
I would enjoy your videos more if you took smaller bites so you don't remind me of a chipmunk stocking up for winter...buon appetito!
Mary
Thanks Mary! Yes, my wife was telling me the same, but I kind of forget especially when the food is delicious. 😅
omg stop saying "let's go"!
It became a habit! 😅 I will try though. 🙂
Thanks for sharing, of course nothing beats the knowledge of a local person! 😊🍻 Yeah, sweets like bolos shouldn't be eaten all the time.
Stew? Feijoada ou tripas à moda do Porto meu. Stew é um insulto
Esta é a tradução oficial em inglês. 🙂 Eu não inventei isso.
🥴 bof bof bof beurk......
you say MMMM before you have actually tasted it so I don't believe you.
😅 I say mmm because it has become a habit of mine. But if food is not good I always say, or if its nothing special.
There are so much better "CACHORRINHO PLACES", Gazela not it... Try those on instead trust... The Dog - Casa do Cachorro
Thank you for your comment and corrections. 🙂🍻
Sorry bro but this is mostly Portuguese junk food
😅
