  • Truck with semi trailer loses control and spins of the ice road at Högfors, Sweden. A heavy wrecker from Lundbärgarna, Borlänge helps him up on the road again.

    Now, that is an impressive heavy wrecker. Four wheel steering, and it doesn't even break a sweat, hauling that semi out of a snowbank. Listen to that big diesel sing.

    I really enjoy these recovery vids. Generally the professionalism is of a high standard, experience giving a good understanding of efficiency and laws of physics, and they simply get on with a skilled job, no drama. I learn a lot from their approach . And don't they look after their Scanias !

    Cool video.
    In the US, our heavy drivers would have parked further back the first time and just pulled the whole thing back on solid ground on the first tug. But if they had to pull from the front, the Boom can rotate 180 degrees, so they wouldn't have hooked on the wheel if they didn't have too. *But It makes sense that different trucks would use different techniques.*

    • @petter5721
      @petter5721 Год назад +2

      They always try to minimise more damage on the truck and cargo during recovery. This is why they are gentle…

    • @timmyingelbrecht6977
      @timmyingelbrecht6977 Год назад

      If they pulled a greater length on the first try, the wrecker would probaly need to park on the other side of the road to get a good enough angle.

    juse carefully the handbrake wen you feel the trailer pushing you out. The trailer will drag you insted of pushing you out. Det gäller även bil o släp. bak axeln på släpet bromsar först med handbromsen, lär din hand att hitta handbromsen, du måste ha vana för att snabbt hitta dit vid panik....

      It depends also where the recovery company departures from. In Sweden it might be pretty long trip from depot to the crashed truck. This was not so difficult operation, only one truck managed to help him out from there, so my guess is up to 1000 € no more. But I could be surprised in real of course :)
