Man since I was in elementary school I’m now 18 and for some reason I keep coming back to this Cause it’s so satisfying to watch and how smooth it looks 😂😂I’m not even interested into making one I just love watching it’s like therapy
Thank you Rsarah. That was the whole idea of making the video. A good recommendation is to do a "trial run" of a single tiered cake before attempting a two or three tiered cake.
Wow here i am again cannot skip watching your tutorials..Great and very concise..thank u Chef youre such a very good in teaching..students will not gt bored while listening❤
I like your tutorial videos coz you try to be detailed and accurately going step by step. You should really keep up. You are very audible. Following from Kenya.
You could easily make your cake 3 days before the wedding, depending on the type of cake you make and the filling. I would recommend using a moist, denser type cake that will hold up well. Also, be sure to completely ice the cakes in buttercream, right down to the board, so that they are completely sealed in buttercream. This preserves moisture and freshness in the cake.
Thanks for sharing this is my first time watching your program it's a pleasure watching you you have different techniques you're the best thank you I'll be watching you more often
The only reason I set the tiers to the back was for the design element. Everyone is familiar with cakes being stacked in the centered position. My concept was to show that a cake can be stacked in different ways to achieve a different overall appearance.
GlobalSugarArt From everyone here at RUclips, I wanted to take the time and let you know just how UTTERLY POINTLESS this video was. You didn't give any recipes for the cake, the icing, frosting or anything remotely relevant. Thanks for nothing "Chef"
To cover the three cakes and for molding you would need approximately 10 pounds of fondant and about 5 pounds of buttercream icing. This, of course, is all dependent on how thick you ice the cake and how thick you roll your fondant.
We have a fondant chart on our website under Tutorials. The amount needed all depends on the size of tiers you are covering. If you are a beginner, purchase extra as you may not roll it as thin as an experienced decorator.
Sir, I don’t know the first thing about this, but because of your skill as a teacher, I would have no qualms about volunteering to make one of those myself.
There many more "finishing" touches I could have done on this wedding cake like joining the lace pieces seamlessly. My intention was to show that nearly anyone can make this cake and not worry about the minute details and still have a nice looking cake. So my answer is no, it does not have to be perfect to be beautiful,
Chef Alan your voice is therapy to me, I love cake but I become a very relaxed jello after watching your videos. You have 2 gifts...an awesome chef and asmr artist 😊
hi sir, thank you for sharing your ideas making this wedding cake.. you are a big help to people like me that dont have a budget to go to baking school to study there.. do you have tutorial for making edible flower/s for wedding cake?
+FJ Davantes Here is a link to a video I made on how to calculate the amount of batter needed in any size pan. www.globalsugarart.com/video-tutorial.php?id=10
When you are decorating any cake, but especially a tiered cake, you need to position your decorations so that there are not evident seams in the front of the cake. By marking the back of the cake, I always know where the front is and I make sure the decorations are placed appropriately.
I love..love..looooooove your tutorials!!!!!! I live in Greece and the seminars are tooooo expensive concidering the economical crisis!!!! I am a begginer and your tutorials are soooooooooooooooooo helpful!!!! I love your work!!! I wish some day to make cakes just beautiful as yours!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Vicky!!!
Well done 🎂. Enjoy watching. Will try to. To a small cake. Thank you for sharing. Keep posting videos time to time. Thank you for the time and effort. From Sri Lanka
Sir you are amazing and I have learn some details which I didn’t know before….. as hobby baker I will follow your advice. Thank you so much. Greetings from Amsterdam 🙏🙏🙏😄
If your white fondant is too dry, you should switch recipes or try another brand. You usually cannot add anything to fondant to make it softer without ruining the properties of the fondant (i.e. Shine and elasticity) . You could try adding a little white vegetable shortening like Crisco or Trex and that may be enough to soften the fondant for you.
Absolutely amazing work. I am still having nightmares leading up to icing my daughters communion cake. You make it look so easy. Thank you for sharing.
Gorgious i love baking and i have already subscribed to your channel chef and i will follow you always to learn more.. i love tour step by step tutorial
You can either use a fondant rope or you can thicken buttercream with lots of powdered sugar until it is firm enough to roll into a rope by hand. Either will work well.
Very wonderful. How would i color the boarders? Just add food coloring to the molds or to a water brush and apply it on the front of the boarder before applying it to my cake?
this is a great instructional video, thank you very much. about to watch part 2 and then move on to the make your fondant video you mentioned. guess i'd better follow your videos, i have a lot to learn! thank you again.
Thats such a beautiful cake! I think that you are so kind to be showing us how to save money and make our own wedding cakes. Thank you very much for this tutorial. A Very, very informative tutorial. i just subscribed!
If you use only fondant in the molds, the molded pieces tend to stretch out of shape very easily when applying them to the cake. The bottom borders would be fine to use all fondant but the larger side borders may be difficult to work with.
Chef,i love your video you explain everything very well and very easy to follow,i am only getting back to baking as it was a passion of mine a few years back and really enyoying it,so thanh you for all your tips i think your amazing,Thank you so much.
Wow!, How creative! (I love baking) I've been always wanting to bake a wedding cake for someone in my family, but i know some day in the future i will bake a wedding cake for someone Thank you :)
Thank you! I plan on making cakes for people that may not be able to afford them &/or terminally ill. This definitely lead me in the right direction! Doesn't global sugar art provide classes/training?
Hello Sir, much inspired and motivated by watching your tutorials..would like to try a tiered cake first time. Please could you help me how do i go about with it..i mean how many days prior to start ? If bake cakes 2 days prior or so will they turn out dry? Many questions n doubts in mind...Thank you so much in advance 🙂
Very large cakes can be covered with fondant but it takes some skill. Once the fondant is rolled out the required size, roll the fondant over a large 3-4 inch diameter clean PVC pipe, then unroll it over the cake. It may take two people handling the rolling pin but it can be done.
Chef Alan, very nice explanation and the way that you prepaire the feelings putting a fine roll of fondant between the layers it's very interesting! I'll try it! M.Luiza /Sao Paulo - Brasil
Hello Chef Alan, It is very nice to see you working again. My internet had been down for a while due to construction but I’m back up and running now. I was wondering if you do modeling of Fondant for things like baby showers and kids Birthday party cakes? I do not remember ever seeing anything like that that on here. I would love to see some things like that for inspiration. I really need lots of help when it comes to that. Thank you so much.. Jilli-Bean
Thank you Alan, the video is very exhaustive and filled with very useful tricks and infos. I have a question: which kind of cake did you use for this project? butter base? Oil base? I suppose I need a "strong" cake if I want to do a tiered cake.
My favorite type of cake when working with fondant is a good old fashion butter pound cake. You can brush on syrup with flavoring for extra moisture before icing the tiers and covering in fondant. It is sturdy, slices beautifully and is delicious.
I'm undertaking my first 2 layer cake for a baby shower, thanks for all the detailed instructions!! I hope my cake turns out as nice as yours!
