Another protip is don't turn the steering like you do most times, as a newbie you might forget to straighten it back up if you come down fast and woops you're going for a tumble.
Great vid bro got my sub. I'm learning to wheelie a mt09 gen 1 at the moment too. First bike I've tried to wheelie on. Ima try b mode next ride see if it helps my fear up high
Man if I’m riding like that I’m at Least gonna leather up 🤷🏻♂️ i know most dudes think they’re too good to crash, or it’s not cool to wear a jacket, it’s Really not cool to get skin grafts 😉
What lm finding hard on the mt09 is the torque it has with the sitting position. Acceleration makes you have to hold on tighter than you would with a sports bike. New to hyper nakeds. Any tips on that?
@@levidark4631 You need to compare it with 20 yr old motorcycles. 120hp for a Supersport was common, but without the extra torque. 120HP is some serious power.
So after clutching it up, are you lowering the throttle input from like 75% to 25% and then keep it steady? A lot of people are just saying steady throttle but I can see right after you pop it you adjust the throttle input to less throttle and then hold it there. Any advice on this?
I feel you dude I was under the impression you pull the clutch in open the throttle and the dump the clutch to pop he does it all at once can’t tell how he’s doing it lol
Yeah when I clutch up it brings the front wheel up really fast and to stop the motorcycle from going to far and looping out you adjust the throttle until it begins to fall back down and you feel for that sweet spot to keep the wheel up and steady the throttle.
Great video bro! Liked and subscribed! I just got a 2023 model and had the stock suspension stiffened as much as possible. Bike feels like a supersport! The issue is for some reason it can't power wheelies. I've tried everything. Could the suspension change be the issue?
Thanks brotha! Yeah stiffer forks can make it harder to pop up. Try lifting the handle bars a little when you throttle up for the power wheelie. Congrats on the new bike!
If the bars are turned slightly when you set it down it can cause speed wobbles or a tank slapper especially at higher speeds so always try to straighten up before touchdown
When I pull the clutch in, give it some rpms, then drop the clutch. What am I doing simultaneously with my throttle hand? Am I holding the same spot where I gave it some rpms or giving more or less throttle?
It depends on your bike and how fast you make the front end come up. You usually want to cut the throttle right after you clutch up so you can kind of catch the wheelie and you won't loop out. But if you aren't popping it up too high then staying on the throttle will let you ride it out.
Do you need to pull the handle bar a little bit when you about to lift the front wheel? I am having a hard time doing my 1st wheelie on my mt09. Btw good video!
Thanks man! Yeah I do tug a little on the handle bars when I wheelie but it's mostly just force of habit and I don't have to use as much throttle that way. It should just come right up though if you clutch or power wheelie in 1st or 2nd.
Let the clutch out all the way out very quick. It depends on the motorcycle, on my fz09 it has enough power I don't have to lift up on the bars but with a lower powered bike you can give it a little tug with the clutch up to help bring it up.
@@barneyridesthanks bro👊I have an MT09 so shouldn’t be a problem , I think my issue was going too slow in 2nd to lift, I need to be atleast mid Rev range before pulling clutch in and popping right ?
Any chance you could do a MT-09 wheelie specific please as there is none that I can find online. Meaning like what gear, what rpm, throttle de-throttle etc thanks 🙏
Ive had my first gen for over a year now. The one time I did a wheelie was when I overtook this car i think between 2nd and 3rd gear. Ive read so many forum posts reading that Clutchups are safer and more controlled, but are scary af when you first try. Power wheelies the wheel comes up slower and more steady, but with TCS off I havent been able to get it up in second, it always just jerks me in ST mode.do you tap the brake to load the front wheel before you pop a power wheelie? Thanks for the great video man, Please make a followup video maybe with some b roll/slowmo shots of exactly what you are doing sith your hands. Cheers!!
I also have an fz09 and can wheelie 1st through 3rd gear up to 80-90mph however I feel like I’m always chasing the wheelie. I’m never using the rear brake to save myself.
“I’m not the best at wheelies” proceeds to bust out perfect wheelies out for over 11 minuets 😂
Another protip is don't turn the steering like you do most times, as a newbie you might forget to straighten it back up if you come down fast and woops you're going for a tumble.
Clutch ups are scary when you first learn but after you learn it’s hard to do it any other way lol
Bloody hell these yahamas seem incredible can't wait
You set it down real smooth. I like that.
here before hes famous
Here cause he is famous. Lol idk first time viewer but I’m diggin it.
The important thing is the safety equipment LOL…awesome wheelies, man!
You keep saying you’re not the greatest at wheelies…you’re seriously good, man!
Haha thanks brotha 🤙
I’m trying to learn but have a brutale 1090rr and scared to crash it…plus I’m too chicken :D :D
@gabsmoscow 😂 that's totally fair though that is a gnarly bike to learn wheelies on
I bought an MT09 after watching your video!!!!!😂🤭

Great video. Nice wheelies
In what rpm range and or speed do you power wheelies in second
this was a good vid man thx

You can try squeezing the bike with your legs to help hold on better.
I'm surprised they call it a hyper naked with it only having 117HP and 69lbs of TQ.

Just got a cbr929rr and the front wheel came off the ground on me today it felt weird. What if the bars are turned when I come back down.

Do u release the clutch almost letting go or just let it out very quick? And do u use much effort like pulling up or is the power enough to get it up

For sure! I gotta fix my bike up first though 😂
Have you ever tried 3rd gear clutch ups on the fz09
Yes it's just way more difficult to pop it up but it is possible
What’s your camera setup
does traction control need to be off on the fz09?
Yes or else it comes slamming down when it cuts power

2nd gear at what speed? I have an FZ09 and below 40 seems to pop up way fast but at 40 I'm just chasing it out.
i think you answered your own question. 35 is where i do it on my first gen
