Nice one mate. They're some cool looking baits, the action on that wake is awesome. Good work getting that last fish persistence pays off hey! (Sometimes haha). Thanks for sharing mate 👍🎣
Awesome catches again mate, that system you fish is amazing. Might need to take a hand held timber saw with ya next time to clear a path haha. Those jointed lures you use seem to be the winning ticket ey. Well done again mate
Haha yeah the hand saw is handy sometimes hey 😂 yup, hard to believe a tiny stream that runs through the suburbs can hold such good population of bass, not many big ones but that’s why I take light gear when I go there, makes it super fun. This creek is super skinny on the 80% of its length but when you find good pools in it, they usually hold bass. And yes, these evergreen definitely get the attention of those fish, not sure if my drag wasn’t tight enough and that’s why I kept pulling hooks or if they just weren’t committing properly…but definitely another lure you’ll see more of in the channel
Haha did I drop many F words in this one? 😂😅 sorry 😂 yeah that Bunnings box was great to just take the handful of lures I wanted to try this day. Thanks for it!!
Thanks Mark! Yes, found heaps of fish but the hook up rate was disastrous! I still don’t know why…my drag wasn’t too loose I don’t think, I think it was more how they were hitting the lure that day, not fully committing. But I’m happy I landed 3 and I got to discover more fishable area in the creek, which is cool
I find every system is different when it comes to rain…so far what I’m seeing is that if the catchment is clean (rocky, sandy or concrete/bitumen like urban areas) then rain will turn the bass on and I believe it is for what you said (more food coming down) and also oxygen levels go up…on the other hand, clayey systems become super murky very easily after rain and will remain like that for a while, I find that this shuts it down completely until water clears up a bit, however rain is need in all creeks so when water becomes too stagnant in these clayey systems the activity of bass in them also slows down…light rain at close intervals is ideal for these creeks to maintain a healthy flow without stirring the water up too much

Good job, Mr Creek Whisperer! My daughter said we really need to start that money jar for you now. And long live the two-dollar Bunnings lure box! 😂😎

Another great video Ramon. Man that would have been so frustrating with the hook ups. Lucky you still got some to stick 🤙

@Off_The_Top_Fishing absolutely!
does rain leading up mean more stuff washing into the water to fire up the bite? is really good clarity not ideal for bass compared to say trout?
